We have eaten here for lunch a few times. The ploughmans is great, but last time we went for those other British staples, bangers and mash and fish and chips. The fish was nice and crispy and not at all greasy, and the three tasty...bangers arrived on a mountain of smooth buttery mash, accompanied by a jug of onion gravy. Delicious. Its a true olde worlde pub, where you can happliy spend an evening drinking and chatting. I can sort of understand why, but its a shame they don’t serve food in the evening.More
This is a lovely cosy traditional pub - a very rare place these days! Friendly and helpful staff - very flexible with the menu as my dad is a vegetarian. The atmosphere was warm and a feeling of a real locals' pub. The food was...fresh with decent size portions - the pudding - sticky toffee - was a great finishing off course. A good price too. Would definitely return. Thank you.More
6 off us turned up for Sunday roast lunch as advertised. Booked this for a Sunday roast some time ago. Have enjoyed Sunday roast here before. Restaurant when we arrived was empty. Menu provided did not include Sunday roast lunch! Not done Sunday roast for...some time said the barman. Didn’t tell me this when I booked. Finished drinks and left !More
We have had meals here many times pre covid and returning to Rochester for first time since, we were disappointed to find that they no longer do food!!
What a lovely little find and will definately return. Food good and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and also the resident Jack Russell’s. Merlot wasn’t bad either. Highly recommend and you won’t be disappointed
My son & I had lunch together, he had Ham & Eggs, I had a Veggie Burger and Chips. Both were served well and cooked beautifully, I had a pepsi and he had 2 coffees. We had a really pleasant time.
Booked a table of 10 for roast dinner we were not disappointed. Service and food were incredible and they catered for our vegan! Definitely recommend this place.
This pub is a lovely family friendly pub, with owners who care about the community. Not only is it a great pub it’s dog friendly too! But the happiness ends there. A certain pub worker “reasonably old fat hag” was very rude. It ruined the...night. If she wasn’t here I would have had a superb evening with my wife and closest friends. Word of advise to the owners, sack the miserable cretin.More
It was lovely to sit indoors in the pub again, it feels safe with social distance and table service. Great atmosphere as always
I went to visit my friend in Rochester yesterday and we paid a first time visit to The Coopers Arms. My words probably won't do this place justice, but it's got to be one of the nicest and best pubs I have ever visited, truly...awesome ! The staff were excellent and very friendly. We felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. The Coopers has a very comfortable atmosphere that is lacking in most places these days. Their Covid measures were spot on and we had our temperatures taken on arrival. The beer garden to the rear of the pub was a little hidden gem and great to see a real dog friendly environment, again the garden was as welcoming as the main bar. I cannot wait to come back to Rochester to see Lisa and the guys at the Coopers Arms. As I say, a truly excellent pub and experience. Cheers guys, Stewart.More
Saturday lunch in Rochester, venue was chosen for us, never new this place existed. Managed to get parked at the back. Decor was good tables were just comfy, we had the round table at the corner, when we got there it was empty half hour...later it was packed nearly every one had a dog large and small all well behaved. Food ordered, see pictures. All well cooked and tasty. I like the way the sausage and mash came in a giant Yorkshire pudding. Desert for me was the best as I had 2 jam sponge & custard and pecan slice with ice cream. Definitely will be backMore
Me, my wife and my sleeping 8 month old baby were turned away on the basis that they don't allow children under 5 years old... a draconian policy that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I will return in 4 years and 4 months and really...make sure she throws an epic tantrum.... If you aren't going to allow young children into your establishment, grow some balls and say no kids whatsoever. You clearly don't need the trade. We had a nice drink at the Ye Arrow down the road. Not quite the same atmosphere, but at least they let us in the door.More
Visited The Coopers Arm for a tasty Sunday roast today. Great selection of meats to choose from. Had the lamb which was very tasty. With a nice selection of vegetables and yorkshire pudding. Had a tasty syrup sponge and custard for dessert. Nice homemade pub...food. Two courses for £12.95 which is very reasonable. The pub is dog friendly, being an animal lover, this is great! The pub owner has the most adorable 17 year old dog there called Poppy! So sweet! Will be visiting again to enjoy a welcoming Sunday Roast!More
The gang reunited after work and HMP kept us apart . We entered and several people got up and left !! . It has changed a little since last here about 6 years plus . But the beer selection is superb . Serious drinker ?...then drink here . Lisa kept us under control and allowing us (as it should be ) ,to sample their selection . Afligem on tap , a magnificent Belgium beer . Up for a laugh then dont tell each other about the step down into the gents which makes you smack your head into the wall opposite . We all did it despite the warning sign . Who reads them ? The locals were in the back bar. Bonus no babies or barking dogs. We shall be returning soon .More
