Went on a Tuesday night and surprised how busy the restaurant was considering it was in the second Covid wave. Glad I made a reservation. The quality of restaurants in Georgetown is amazing and this restaurant is definitely higher end fine dining but in a...relaxed causal atmosphere. Excellent service, great social distancing from other tables, and felt like a very safe dining experience. We were a table of two and had the corn vegetable soup of the day which was absolutely delicious. This was followed by a filet mignon meal and a shrimp/scallop dish both of which were 100% finished. The New Zealand Sav was a great accompaniment to the fish dish. Many other fine dishes on the menu that will require a repeat visit. Fine dining steak and seafood at its best. Well worth the cost , which in my opinion is modest for a meal of this quality. Highly recommended.More

We went for a special event and it was a Thursday evening which only factors in because the place was empty after 7:00, we were the only table. The service was good and also the food was very good (kudos to the chef), however, I...found that the prices were a bit on the high side. It basically cost us $100 each (4 of us). We all had appetizers, a steak, a glass of wine, dessert and coffee. I also ordered the wild mushrooms ($17) and I'm no expert, but they seemed to be just the regular brown button type, so for me the only thing wild was the price. They ran out of cheese cake so only one could have it, and the espresso machine was out of order. This was our first visit and unless we win the lottery it may be our last. A nice quaint place, I just don't know that it's worth the 1 hour drive.More

I have dined here in the past, so was interested in checking it out again under the new ownership. She has refreshed the interior nicely. Some of the same menu items, but lots of new things to try. I went at lunch, and there were...several great things to choose from, and all were delicious.More

We went for a graduation dinner and always remember it as an upscale good food place but had not visited for a few years. Food was brutal - and even the toast was burnt. Every meal had an issue. The Hamburger was very small on...a store un and burned to a piece of carbon. The club was solid black toast. When we mentioned this we got a stare... Well it's a new chef.. Our opinion server should not even bring it out. Then they gave "nothing" off the bill even though most went back. I give one point extra for young manager was frustrated but patiently listened.More

My family and I are long Time customers of the Cellar. We loved it there. However we went this past week knowing there were new owners and the menu would slightly change, however this was a clear disappointment. It was an entirely different menu deleting...the most popular cellar items such as the platter for 2 with steak and lobster tails, etc. in fact they completely removed lobster tails from The menu. They have lobster Mac n cheese which we ordered but it was not good. The restaurant was pretty much empty, which is telling as I am sure many people were excited to see it reopen. I think they removed many of the high end $$ foods and replaced them with pasta, etc. which costs less to bring in more people, however I think keeping much of the previous menu would allow them to do both.More

The new owners have traded in quality for what tastes like prepackaged, reheated meals. Prices are lower but I'd rather pay more and have better food. The pot pie gravy was so thick and gelatenous that it was more of a pudding than a pot...pie. The salad greens were wilted and tasted on the verge of going bad. Serving staff tried hard but were unprofessional - who offers to get dessert for one person at the table while the other is still clearly eating their main course? The Cellar used to be my favourite restaurant in town. Not anymore. I won't be going back.More
