Very busy during a late breakfast. Food a little slow coming out but pleasant waitress kept hot coffee coming and we were in no hurry. We ordered several different items and all were good. Prices not cheap, but fair and the place is immaculate. Will...gladly return if back in town.More

One of the best things about our breakfast was the server Melanie. She was friendly and colorful. The food was good—typical. My party had French Toast, Scrambled eggs, Poached eggs, and breakfast wrap. We’ll go back the next time we’re in Providence.

November 2022 I was meeting up with a friend. We started to order the waitress was rushing us so much that she didn't even let me finish before she rudely walked away and I had to let her know I wasn't done..it went down hill...from there! The coffee was horrible no cream left on the table to try and at least drink it, then the food was even worst tasteless pumpkin pancakes and cornbeef hash that was obviously out of a can I told the manager who stated "I don't know what to tell you took all the food we had taken a bite of and handy us the check of 36.63 which we paid and left & will never go back!! Save you money the absolutely worst food & service on the planet would never go back to be treated in such a way I've never experienced in my 62 years..from the food , waitress & manager just unbelievable that people actually would spend their hard working dollars there!!! This place gets a 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾More

Popular place, and a bit cramped once you in there, but the atmosphere is casual and fun. I had a good omelet from their decent range of choices.

Very nice menu with lots of variety. Vegetarian options. No plant-based meat or would have given 5 stars. Portions were good size. Prices a little high. Coffee was very good. Clean and quick service.

We went here for breakfast on a Saturday. It’s in a great part of town. The service was excellent. Coffee is delicious. I had your basic 3 eggs with bacon and sausage. Everything was good. Even the seeded rye. My wife got the Wonderland omelette....While the omelette was above average she did not enjoy the dime size piece of foil inside. I gave this place 3 stars due to the surprise foil in the omelette. Other than that it’s top notch!! You won’t be disappointed you ate here!More

My husband and I were very pleased with the Brickway for breakfast. We were staying in Providence for two nights and had breakfast each morning here. The service was excellent as our waitress took our coffee and tea orders promptly. I was impressed with the...tea selection and appreciated having extra hot water on our table for a second cup of tea. Menu has everything from eggs and omelets to sweet things. You can create your own omelet, but I thoroughly enjoyed the one with spinach, tomatoes and feta cheese. Served with home fries and your choice of four different kinds of toast. The second morning I tried their DELICIOUS banana pancakes. A specialty of theirs, and they were fabulous. Very generous serving. Going back to Brickway a second time when we were staying in Providence only two nights says it all.More

We stopped in on a very busy Sunday morning. I was worried about the wait time because of the line outside, but we only had to wait 10 minutes. The food was excellent, especially the home fries, and the service was great! Would definitely go...again!More

The waitress was very sweet and even though she forgot to put our order in she gave us some fruit and coffee to tide us over. Everything we ate was delicious and there was nothing left. The breakfast potatoes were good but beware they have...a kick! Definitely recommend!More

So this breakfast joint was really good for my meal, but my spouses was horrible. First the good-- great, bottomless cup of joe and excellent poached eggs. Now the bad-- totally underdone pancakes that were oozing batter in the middle.

To my wife it looked like a hippie diner. Maybe so, or maybe just arty-school funky. But to me it had a good all-American unhealthy menu, i.e. it was great! Strong, no frills coffee from the pot (no east coast brown water or west coast...alternative milk froths), eggs, butter, steak! What more could you want? OK, large portions. Check! Among the standard breakfast specials were 15 omelet combos ranging from $9.95 to $10.50. And yes, pancakes, burritos and lox. And-- probably for show—gluten free toast and vegan bacon, whatever that is. Arriving early Saturday morning, we got a choice of table, Formica tops in different bright colors with three on the sidewalk. By 10:00 the place was full up, loud and crowded. Even then, our server kept close watch, the sign of a very well-run operation. I judged the other diners were all neighbors although we did see cars pulling up to park. Located on tree-lined Wickenden Street in a section of interesting, small shops and restaurants, there was plenty of other parking on side streets. There are many places in Providence to get your frou-frou breakfast. Brickway, however, is the place to go for honest, traditional fare and friendly, attentive service.More

This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences in recent memory. Not only was the food subpar, but the service was horrible by both a waitress and the manager. First off, the food was below average for four of the five members of our...party, and nowhere at s level that claims to be amongst the best in the city. Even worse, the first bite of my meal my pancakes had a giant hair in it. I right away notified them and they took it away, but it took them 15 minutes to come back with new ones. (Pancakes should take about two minutes to make, especially when you are correcting a problem on an order). By the time they came the rest of my party was essentially done, so I got to eat by myself. Here is the where the rudeness kicks in. They actually gave me an attitude when I asked to have the meal taken off the bill. First they wanted to take off only the portion of the meal that the packers accounted for. The whole thing was only $9.50 so for me it was a matter of principle, but rather than do the right thing they offended a party of five who will never be back. The pitiful waitress actually tried to argue with me over the fact that I had eaten some of it. In fact, the table next to us was disgusted by their action and said they would never return either. Apparently the behavior of the rude waitress is encouraged since the rude manager seemed okay with letting customers leave unhappy with their experience. If was amazing that such a large amount of discontent could come from such a miniature individual. Stay away from these rude people!!!More

Went here with a date one morning for breakfast. Easy to find, cool aura and space. The service was ok and the food was ok. I saw nothing super special but nothing at all bad. If in the area I will try again.

We visited the Brickway on a Sunday morning for brunch. They were mobbed, with a 15-20 minute wait and tables on the sidewalk despite the chilly weather. Unfortunately, they don't quite have the ability to handle such a large crowd. It took a very long...time to get an order placed, then it didn't all come out at the same time, and the eggs, which are very sensitive, were a little overcooked. I think the over easy eggs spent too much time under the heat lights. I think if it weren't so crowded, we would have loved it. A Grilled blueberry muffin is exactly what it says, and was a delightful treat. Pancakes and french toast were good. Eggs otherwise excellent. Bacon a little underdone, but everyone likes their bacon different, so who am I to criticize?More
