In town from Kansas City, Mo. We found this restaurant while in town and it did not disappoint. The portion size is amazing as well as price. Great service and loved the salsa’s. The chile was great; not over cooked and fabulous taste. I would...recommend this place and will for sure return again.More

Hadn't been here in a long time but I will be a regular after my excellent lunch. I've always loved the chips and the sweet but hot salsa. So different and yummy. I ordered Franks combination plate and the chile relleno was huge crispy and...cheesy! 👍 the beef taco and enchilada with green chile were very good too. We had good service and an enjoyable time catching up with another couple.More

As a solo traveler, I ate in the bar area, and was dutifully attended to by the bartender Miguel - attentive service! The carne asada combination was a deliciously marinated steak, grilled perfectly! Highly recommended!

This is my all time fave place to go to eat Chile. The flavor is great but not hot. Anyhow, I have noticed the plate proportion is next to nothing. One thing that counts is the quanity because you want your customer to get full...and possibly even have left overs. When there last night to get to go dinner. When I got home there was a whole 2 tablespoons of beans and rice. The cheese enchiladas were dry. Please considering making the plates the price we pay which is $12-15. Im getting tired of getting jipped!!More

It had been a few years since we'd been to Los Cuates. We used to go there all the time. We decided to go for lunch and had their burrito lunch special, beef with potatoes. I was sorely disappointed, The burrito was filled with cubed...potatoes about 1" square and about 2 tbs of meat. I removed most of the potatoes from the burrito and it was equivalent to a large russet potato. The other observation that I made was that the restaurant was empty at lunch. It might be that they do better for dinner, but it certainly had changed since the last time we were there. I checked and the ownership of the restaurant was still in the family.More

This place was recommended to us so we had to try it out. The food is decent, service a bit slow. All in all, it is nothing different from all the other similar restaurants. Nothing really stood out to us.

Went here to the one on Manaul for the first time in October because I wanted to try somewhere I had never been before. Was very pleased. So much so that I took a friend who had never been there either back the next week....He also really liked it. Will definitely be frequenting fairly regularly.More

Have eaten at this Los Cuates for well over 25 years. During COVID we got some carry out that had a piece of plastic in the food as well as straw, the kind veggies and fruits are packed in. This had been the second so,...so carry out we had gotten there during COVID, so we decided to get our Mexican at a different place as there are so many options. Tonight we decided to give it another try as we realized the struggles restaurants had been going through at the height of the pandemic. The woman at the cash register was so rude I walked out. When I walked in she was talking loudly about slamming someone against a wall. When she came over to take my order her tone was confrontational and rude. Nonetheless I left; with so many great Mexican food choices, with polite, professional service this is certainly not going to be my first choice any more, which is too bad. Previously the food was good, and the service was excellent, a little slow sometimes due to high demand but worth the wait, no more!More

We stopped by the Lomas location on the recommendation of a work associate and left full and happy. There was a bit of a wait, but host staff got folks seated efficiently. We all enjoyed the chips and chipotle based salsa - excellent. One of...the party had the green chile burger and reported that it was better than his favorite burger at a restaurant in southern NM. The other in our party had the chile relleno and loved it. I had the blue corn cheese enchiladas with red sauce and it was excellent. Our only observation was that the food - all 3 plates - came out of the kitchen barely better than warm. That was a disappointing negative to an otherwise excellent experience, and one I will discuss with the server next time to make sure our plates come out hot. I saw other comments from 2019 mentioning this exact issue, so I encourage management to look into their processes.More

We used to live in Albuquerque, so whenever we come back for a visit we like to sit down, especially with family, at Los Cuates. They have excellent tacos, enchiladas, and chile rellenos. So I always get a combination plate in order to sample all...of them. Tables can be arranged to accommodate your family. There is a bar up front, and your waitperson will bring you a margarita of your choosing or a draft beer. Usually a busy place, so you might have to wait a few minutes for a table, but they don't rush you to finish. Ample parking in the back, off the street.More

I would give it no stars but it won’t allow me. I have Mercer put a review before but that’s how bad it was that I’m putting one. First thing they took over 30 minutes to bring our food. When they did it was such...a disappointment, the posole look like they have left it over night outside and just serve it like that it look very gross. I ask if they can make a shrimp tostada and they told me they could their version of it was a taco salad with a lot of beans inside and like five shrimps!! My mom order the tortillas were very cold and very thick and look old. The beef was very hard to chew. When I ask to speak to the manager she didn’t even bother to apologize she just kept saying the only thing I can do is give you 20% off your total over and over again and was very rude about it!!!!! Would never go back or recommended to anyone.More

For over 20 years this was one of my favorite restaurants. I hadn’t been here in a year and I can’t recall a worse meal. I had chicken enchiladas. The chicken was cooked into a mush and had no flavor or texture. The blue corn...tortillas were mushy as well and on top of all that the food came out tepid (the plate wasn’t warm). They took it off my bill but no one from management bothered to talk to me or apologize. Now I know why the place was nearly empty. Too many good restaurants in ABQ to waste your money here.More
