... of well-cooked food. The service was excellent with a personable waitress. The wine list was somewhat limited with surprisingly few local wines. However the wines were very reasonably proced. Prices for the food were also reasonable

Fantastic night. Love Alice Mays. This was my 2nd time. Service fantastic both times. Good food. Always nicely cooked and presented well. Std kiwi fare, good size portions, not gourmet but nice wholesome food. However would recommend the monk fish & Arancini balls. Beautiful!! If...your into garlic bread theirs is really good. Just love the story of Alice May. Never heard that part of NZ history before so really interesting and just added to the fab dining experience. Thanks for a lovely night.More

Gorgeous restaurant . Understated but beautifully thought out. Wonderful to see it busy. Star of the show was Irene. Friendly, professional and onto it. We shared the whitebait fritter which was generous and tasty. And had seafood chowder and beef cheeks. The beef cheeks were...melt in the mouth, the peas not so. Overcooked hard bullets. Seafood chowder was just ok to be honest. I was expecting something more rustic, lovely chunks of fish but it was a bit “sliced and diced”. Loved the story of Alice.More

We went for dinner tonight, loved every thing about the restaurant. Staff were warm and friendly, my roast pork was so tender it melted in my mouth. Lovely red house wine very reasonable too. To top off this wonderful experience we listen to Frank Sinatra,...Dean Martin and Elvis.as we ate. We also enjoyed hearing and reading the history of Alice May. Thank youMore

What an intriguing story about Alice May from our home town of Napier that we had never previously heard. Great ambience with excellent food and friendly service. We really enjoyed our dinner. Whitebait omelette was particularly yummy and masses to share as a starter.
