Tia was our waitress and did a fabulous job helping us make great choices on a fantastic Menu. It was our anniversary. My wife chose the scallops and I chose the Catch of the day. We followed up with perhaps the best desert I ever...had, their signature coconut sundae. We had a terrific sunset, luau was going on at the beach and dinner was just fantastic. Be sure to sit on the balcony looking at the ocean!More

This restaurant exceeded our expectations in every respect. The service was impeccable but discreet, the food was elegant and delicious but not pretentious and the sunset view was unparalleled. They have a huge and excellent wine cellar and a small but exquisite farm to table...menu. The meal was perfectly paced so there was plenty of time to talk but never lulled and the waitstaff was friendly but unobtrusive. Yes, it’s pricy, but to my mind mine much better value than most restaurants in its price category. We will be back for sure. Don’t miss the watermelon salad - it’s amazing. But then everything we had from the menu surprised and delighted.More

We had dinner at Ka’ana Kitchen and sat at a nice outdoor table with a view of the ocean. We asked the server about recommendations and portion size (to minimize waste), but he replied with non-answers that weren’t helpful, so we took a shot and...ordered the fried chicken and pork chop. Both were okay, but kind of dry and not anything we’d order again. A couple of days later, after hearing raves about their breakfast buffet, we decided to give the restaurant another try, and I’m so glad we did. The buffet included omelets, all kinds of meats, salmon, potatoes, fruits and just about any breakfast or breakfast-adjacent item you could think of, and everything we ate was excellent.More

Excellent meal and service. The hostess was welcoming and warm. Our waiter, Forbes, was friendly, efficient and knew the menu well. The view from the deck was beautiful and we enjoyed a gorgeous sunset. Our cocktails- “Line in the coconut”- were perfect and delicious! Our...appetizers- the watermelon salad, hangar steak, grilled octopus salad and the beet salad, were all wonderful. We especially enjoyed the steak and the octopus. For our entrees we had the scallops and the mahi mahi. Both were cooked perfectly. A truly memorable dining experience for us in Maui! Mahalo!More

We made a reservation. And got the table we requested. Our meals here are consistently good and this night was no exception. We bought in a bottle of wine we purchased at Wailea Wine store and it wasn’t a problem for John, our lovely waiter,...to serve us. (I don’t know what the corkage fee is) We dined here twice this trip. The octopus starter and the tataki starter are classics and so good. One night we had the pork Milanese and another the risotto. Both were excellent. And of course you can’t beat the sunset views. Live music from the lounge below was also fun.More

Poor quality, very expensive. I felt like I was at an Applebees in hell. There are many other restaurants in Kihei (a very short drive away) that we enjoyed. Of course nothing can compare to the fabulous dinner that we had at Mama’s Fish House...on the north shore.More

The food was good but the service and ambiance were not. We came here to celebrate our anniversary and the last night of our vacation. Eater recommended Ka’ana as “different” from other hotel restaurants and that it offered a “fine dining”experience. Unfortunately, I would not...describe what we experienced as a fine dining experience. Our hostess congratulated us on our anniversary and lead us to our seats. We were seated on the balcony, which would be great except it looked directly at two large TVs playing sports games. Not romantic at all. The TVs were part of the beach bar cabana, which was oddly built directly in front of the dining room, blocking most of the view. Providing diners of Ka’ana a view of whatever is playing on TV instead of an ocean view. It was very distracting. I felt like I was eating dinner being forced to watch football. A poor design decision that led to a poor dining experience. Our waiter was also very distracted. He spoke quickly, disappeared for long stretches, we didn’t feel like we mattered at all. They seemed under staffed. Maybe due to the fire. In any case, I wish they would have limited reservations instead of stretching their staff. The dining room was LOUD. There was live music happening at the beach bar right next to the dining room (classic resort/cruise ship singer, doing their own twists of popular hits.), while the restaurant itself had a different soundtrack (Hawaiian music, more mellow). Two soundtracks competed with each other. Along with the loud dining noise, It was sensory overload. We were barely able to hear each other. Which is why maybe the waiter was barking at us. The food came fast and was good. We had the watermelon salad, waygu, mushroom risotto and veggie tacos. We shared family style. To be honest, we could have just ordered three. We were so stuffed. Wine prices were outrageous so we skipped. We are from the Bay Area so we can wait to drink better wine in Napa. Overall, the price for the food based on inventiveness, quality, and preparation was reasonable. We just can’t recommend it for special occasions. We couldn’t wait to finish our meal and get out of there.More

We’ve done other Chefs Table type dining but not in Maui. Ka’ana Kitchen Chefs Table had great reviews but we were still a little suspect of a hotel restaurant being that good. Instead, it far surpassed our expectations. The food was outstanding and plentiful. Ka’ana,...as we learned, means to share and with some of the courses that came for my wife being different, it allowed us to share those courses. The service was equally impressive as you’re immersed in the cooking experience of the open kitchen and interact with all of the chefs. Our particular evening happened to include watching an 11 year old boy, with great interest in cooking, given the royal treatment by the Chef and his staff. Our tip for couples looking for the maximum enjoyable experience is to ask for table 100. Definitely the absolute best 2 seats of the 8 available, both for the interactive dining and the gorgeous ocean views.More

From the moment we walked in, we loved the calm, relaxing vibe. Then the food came. Every single thing was met with “this is the best I have ever eaten.” I expected a good meal for me and my husband and that did not disappoint....The butternut squash risotto, the perfect fish, and the gnocchi that melted in my mouth. Yum. But my picky kids were also thrilled. The lemonade they ordered was truly the best lemonade I have ever had. My little guy was raving about the Mac and cheese. My husband had a salad with poached pears what he said was the best salad he has ever had. Not a bad bite of food. Not even an average bite of food. The service was also great. Not every place with this level of cuisine will be so welcoming to 3 little boys. Our waiter was perfect. We spent the whole meal joyfully laughing and loving our food. Would not want to miss this place bMore

Great staff and great food. They are going with then”less is more” Theme with roughly 12 dishes between appetizers and main courses, but all quite good. Best steak I have had on Maui. Great desserts. Wine list is a bit pricey. Space has nothing to...absorb sound and an open kitchen, so noisy and hard to hear.More

We had an incredible experience at Ka’ana Kitchen while we were staying at the Andaz. Small menu which we prefer, all dishes we had were done extremely well. This was the second time we came here and like the first, we had the Watermelon Salad...and Octopus, even better than we remember. Also had the Ahi Tuna and Mushroom Risotto, all very good. Even better than the food and the view, was the service. Chris took amazing care of us, will definitely request him when we come back next. Awesome wine selection and cocktails were perfection.More

Quite possibly our best dinner on Maui. Am not a big tuna fan But the Big Eye Tuna here was the best and reasonably priced. Wonderful salads too and cocktails. Better than we remember from before.

This restaurant is located in the Andaz hotel where we stayed. Once we saw the menu we were a little bit nervous as none of us really enjoy seafood or trying different foods. The watermelon salad was so good and we all got the sirloin...that was INCREDIBLY done. It was fantastic.More

Food and service are great. The watermelon salad appetizer sounds boring, but was almost the best part of the meal. Everything we've tried has been delicious, altho the fried chicken a little dull. The waitstaff makes us feel at home and glad to return. The...food is great, but it's the personal touch of feeling welcomed back that makes it a special experience.More

The price was the same (waaaay overpriced in my opinion). We had a little one as well and they just gave us a plate and we took from ours to give to her.

Yes. You just have to wind up the stairs from the beach past the pools to the restaurant.
