We were staying at the Epicurean hotel, and you check in right beside Reverence, so we decided to give it a try as the space looked beautiful. Unfortunately, management has really taken its eye off the ball here. Ordered a small seafood tower to start...($50) and the lobster part of it was inedible (it was absolute mush, so the freeze and thaw went terribly wrong). We had steaks and you order sides separately. The small steaks came out, just alone on the plate. No sides arrived. They came 5 minutes later. And we hadn't even finished the other seafood bits before the steaks came. Steaks and sides were tasty in the end, but you could tell that there's just no rhythm to the place -- and only 3 other tables full, so a mostly empty restaurant. The server was friendly, and trying, but a grim-faced manager just floated around not seeming to do much. Breakfast in the morning (we were comped as Marriott Bonvoy members) was very good. The hotel is new and beautiful (fabulous pool deck too), and the people are overall friendly, but the operations really haven't come together, especially on the dining side. I really hope the restaurant can reboot and get headed in the right direction. Otherwise this will be a failed enterprise, especially at the prices being charged.More

We passed this restaurant -- which bills and prices itself as haute cuisine -- frequently since we live in the neighborhood, but held off visiting until the kitchen had "settled in." (My wife and I have lived in Atlanta for years, but became used to...fine dining in DC and NYC.) We decided to stop in on a recent stormy Saturday night. A long line turned out to be the single check in for the hotel which, unusually, is inside the restaurant. The restaurant space itself is utilitarian, noisy (since the bar is in the same space) and on this evening, quite cold. Host and server were efficient and friendly. The space was mostly empty -- possibly due to the storm -- and the handful of diners had ignored the business casual dress code. Drinks were tasty and biscuits excellent but the accompanying butter was extremely salty, which turned out to be the theme of the meal. My wife, who is vegan, ordered vegetables and I the red snapper special -- which turned out to cost 2x the other entres, so check before ordering. Fish and vegetables were well cooked but so heavily doused with salt that I could only stomach a few forkfuls. (We finished the pommel frites as I was fairly hungry.) Although I told the server that the meal was insanely salty and complained ( I admit somewhat snarkily) "if I were the judge on a popular food network show the cook would be chopped," no one came forward to respond to my complaint -- although what I took to be the restaurant manager was standing 20 feet away nervously surveying the empty tables. The chocolate chard dessert was edible, although my wife, who frequently bakes, wasn't impressed. In short, our meal seemed more tourist cuisine than epicurian and it is unlikely we will return.More

Gotta start the day with a solid breakfast. If you’re in the neighbourhood, make sure to drop by here! Their omelettes were light and made to your liking. I had the spicy sausage, mushrooms and jalapeño. A touch salty for the sausage but their smashed...potatoes made up for it! (That’s why I had to take a pic of that by itself). The absolute must order breakfast dish is their waffled cheddar grits. Highly recommended by their staff and it doesn’t disappoint. The waffled cheddar grits are nice and crunchy with chopped jalapeños buried within. The combination of thick cut bacon, feta and honeycomb make this one of a kind! I’m getting a bit hungry just thinking about it!More

It is hard to find a good Valentine's Day dinner with character under $100. They did great. Recommend the sea bass.

They are still working out the kinks at this restaurant which opened in Sep/Oct 2021, and trying to figure it out in the middle of a pandemic. Our server was very nice, but lacked some basic skills such as refilling wine and water glasses. "How...is everything?", "Great" we reply with almost empty glasses. Of course, we can do it ourselves, but shouldn't at a 'fine dining' restaurant. Nit picky, I know. The food was good, but we found the menu challenging to order from. I felt like a steak, but the only 2 steaks on the menu were $70+ and $200+, so we settled on the delicious Sea Bass for $40+. The highlight was the wine, which was exceptional. Great list to choose from with a wide range. The GM was fantastic in his knowledge. So go and enjoy this restaurant, even if only for the great wine!More

It must be quite a challenge to be the restaurant in a hotel named Epicurean. Sadly, this restaurant did not come up to the challenge. The prices were top drawer, but the menu selections were limited and the portions even more limited. No one in...our group of 4 came away with a good meal experience. Some restaurants try “too hard”. Reverence needs to try harder. Very nice space, high ceilings, good lighting….pity about the food. Certainly not with the price.More

Enjoyed the Thanksgiving pre-fixe menu - three course meal with a cold Classic City lager. Went to their website to make a reservation and the link took me back to Yelp. Received a text message to confirm. Our server was attentive and apologized that he...didn't know the entire menu - found out the menu 30 minutes before they opened, no biggie. The lamb was very tender. The turkey was well cooked and moist. From start to finish, was about one hour. Tom showed us the terrace on the 9th floor. Gave us a quick tour. Hand sanitizer station on the left as you enter. All the staff wore mask and none of them wore gloves.More
