We stopped by to pick up couple of bakery items for breakfast. It has great options and all looked really good. The ones we had were delicious. Definitely coming back. The service is very friendly as well.

Great baked good with disappointing service. After many visits, I concluded that some staff there just keep irritated vibe all along (e.g., annoyed tone and face), which made me uncomfortable enough to reconsider future visits. :(

I needed to spend a week near Mass General Hospital and what a joy to find Four Bakery right close. I didn't expect to find anything for my celiac diet but maybe a stray salad. I was so wrong! The friendly crew told me the...sandwiches are available on delicious gluten free bread, even toasted on a panini grill. The bread was absolutely fabulous, the sandwich components fresh and imaginative. There are a couple options for baked sweets, too. The almond macaroon made me feel pampered. This is no cardboard stand-in for wheat but every bit as good as the wheat equivalent. I didn't eat anywhere else because it was just so delicious, friendly, and sustaining. Thank you, Joanne Chang and crew, for making a very stressful week a little sweeter.More

This is my current favourite place to work in Cambridge. The food/coffee is great, the staff is nice, and there's a chilled out atmosphere. Wifi is free as well, which is a plus. It gets a little busy in the afternoons, but I have always...been able to find a place. I wear headphones to drown out the noise, because it does get busy.More

Counter service and busy at noon. Upstairs indoor seating and small tables outside on Busy Cambridge. Nice people watching on a sunny day but noisy. Limited sandwiches which are good. I had Cubano which was good. Bakery items. Healthy drinks only with various teas.

I had been a fan of Flour since the original store was opened in Boston's South End. At one point, while homebound, I Iived on deliveries of Flour sandwiches, and when back at work, got my pour-over decaf in the morning, and lunch in the...afternoon from them. Something happened in the spring of 2022 and they are now going for efficiency and profit margin over deliciousness. No more pour over coffee but, instead, those pre-measured machines so the coffee kinda sucks. Their BLT's used to be phenomenal with some kind of special tomato/mayo sauce thing that elevated the BLT into something I could eat every day and was eager to share with friends because it was so good. Now Flour skips that special tomatoey/mayo sauce thingie and the BLT is so meh I wouldn't feed it to my dog. Why eat something out that I can make better at home? Look, you can't go wrong with some of their baked goods - anything chocolate works for me - but they crossed a line with me this spring where they went from locally based indie-ish café/ bakery with yummy food to corporate fast food restaurant with pretty meh food. The signature breakfast sandwich might still be good but get your coffee and lunch elsewhere.More

Flour is a neat bakery in the Boston area . The baked goods are delicious and fresh. The savory scone Parmesan basil was delicious . It is a coffee shop with limited seating . They handle lots of to go orders so the service was...a bit slow this morning for a couple of teas and scones.More

We had just spent a couple hours walking about the MIT campus enjoying its architecture and public art, so needed a bit to eat before moving on to our next destination. We came across Flour, which was obviously a good place to eat judging from...the people enjoying lunch at the sidewalk tables, so we went inside to see what it was all about. Flour is primarily a bakery with a full line of sweet treats but they also offer breakfast croissants and other dishes as well as more than a dozen sandwiches that lean towards the fresh, organic, healthy side. We waited in line for about 10 minutes to order one sandwich to split (portions are big enough!) and waited. They were quite busy so we expected a wait, but it was longer than anticipated (15 minutes or so). Listen closely as they call names! Note: They do offer online kiosk ordering as well as offsite online orders. All in all, their food is quite delicious and (almost) worth the wait!!More

My experience was terrible, I ordered a 1/2 of sandwich and was told that due to COVID they are not making half of sandwich. I observed other customers ordered 1/2 sandwich without a problem, everyone must be treated the same regardless of color. This happened...at the Cambridge street location.More

My husband used to work above Flour so it was a place we visited quite often. Sometimes I would request that he bring me home a pastry after work. Luckily he would usually do that for me.

I was wandering a little aimlessly on Massachusetts Ave near the MIT Museum on a cold and sunny February afternoon. I had walked miles that day while exploring Cambridge and needed sustenance. Lo and behold I spied a busy bakery cafe that looked promising and...very special at the same time. It was the Flour Bakery and Cafe! I headed inside and was a little intimidated by the array of treats that stood before me as I simultaneously navigated the steadily moving line and pondered what sweet treat I would choose. They all looked so good. After securing a piece of old-fashioned sour cream coffee cake and a cup of coffee served attentively with real china and cutlery, I found a seat on the bar facing the street. Nearby were many others enjoying their choices. I coud hear conversations about MIT, life and professional choices and experiences. The cake and coffee were so wonderful and the ambience was just what I was looking for. It was so relaxing and enjoyable. I hope to visit this location again or perhaps the one in Harvard Square once things are back to a new post caronavirus normal.More

We first visited almost 5 years ago on a family trip to Boston. Since then my oldest daughter kept mentioning we needed to visit again if ever we were back in town. The food is high quality, super fresh, and the pastries are melt-in-your-mouth perfection....Seating is a challenging - it’s very popular with the MIT community, and on this winter afternoon, it was crowded as usual. On a nice day just get take out and enjoy a nice sunny spot on campus. About 8-12 minute walk from either Central or Kendall/ MIT stops on the red line. Added bonus- when you’re done stuffing yourself, head across the street to the MIT museum for some science funMore

We visit this restaurant a lot. There's a reason it's always busy and there are no seats during peak dining hours. Some of the best hot chocolate we have tasted. Awesome lamb sandwiches, avocado toast, cakes (a chocolate hazelnut one is amazing). My picky teenage...eater is always wanting to go here. For good reasons. The only problem is finding parking and a seat, so I recommend going during off hours.More

It's always so busy in here but they are pretty quick about getting your food out fast. Sometimes they go a little too heavy on the bacon with my sandwiches which some might have no problem with at all. The pastries, especially the coconut cream...pie, are so good.More
