I LOVE CREPES . Like LOVE LOVE PASSIONATELY LOVE THEM . When we lived on Kauai I would drive 1.5 every other week just to get one ... we came here . Owner was smoking at the tables guest eat at and I was taken...back by that. He could have smoked on the other side ... I let that go because CREPES ! Long story short the crepes tasted like it was made ina dirty crepe maker . It has that "this dirty pan" taste and both my husband and I didn't eat more than a quarter of it . If it weren't for this , I'm sure it would have been very good . The stars are because the toppings were fresh and good !More

It’s a food truck in a parking lot close to the Target. We split the Captain Cook (savory) and Hawaiian Sunset (sweet, hut not too sweet). Both were perfect and generous portions. The crepe batter is substantial enough not too fall apart but not too...thick to overpower the filling. Owner is so nice, worth the visit!More

After arriving on an evening flight to KOA, for breakfast the next morning we were looking for an interesting place, and this turned out to be a terrific find! We both opted for a couple 'savory' choices, and everything tasted delicious. We learned these are...long standing family recipes from Yugoslavia, and given how good our experience was we will for certain return again during our annual two week stay here.More

As a family, we absolutely loved the Mauna Kea, Captain Cook, and Pizza Crepes! They were so good, we couldn’t resist topping it off with dessert crepes (Mauna Loa and Kona Paradise). What amazingly good crepes and the service was fantastic too! A definite highlight...to our time in Kona! Oh, and you can place your order and take them to go too if you’re heading to the beach.More

Pre sliced luncheon meat Laden with salt wrapped in a burnt crepe and slathered in salty toppings. The salt bomb is a heart attack waiting to happen. I would hope that the management of this establishment would take these opinions in stride And use them...to improve their own restaurant instead of using them as a springboard for some hackneyed quip or sophomoric rebuttal. It is my experience that argue and opinions in the public eye is disastrous for those who have reputation to keep. Because you never know When a poor review will come back to bite youMore

I love crepes. My husband does not. I promised he could get a pizza crepe with whatever he wanted, so he reluctantly agreed. He loved it! I had the very berry cheesecake crepe with strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and their homemade cheesecake filling. Heaven! The...couple running the food truck are sweet, friendly, and warm. So glad we went! Highly recommend. 😊More

You might miss it, if you drive by HPM too quickly, so be sure to look to your right and drive into their parking lot to find The Whale Of A Crepe food truck. Their smoothies put the smooth in smoothies. They are super yummy,...blended perfectly and just the right amount of cold. Their crepes are awesome too, and you can choose savory or sweet, and even ask for gluten-free. The proprietors, Jared and Maja, always make me feel welcome, and really want to make sure that the food they make for people is how they want it. If you don't like, or can't tolerate, a certain food, ask them to make a substitution. If they can do it, they will, with a smile on their faces. Go... Enjoy!!! There's enough variety here that everyone in the family can likely find something they'll enjoy, and want to come back here again!!!More

We were pulling in to the Golden Arches for a McTolerable breakfast sandwich and saw “A Whale of a Crepe” food truck across the street. A quick detour put us in food nirvana. We ordered the Captain Cook and added an egg for our breakfast...delight. My wife and I shared this crepe along with the fruit filled crepe with cheesecake filling. Both crepes were absolutely and deliciously out of this world. The owner was very friendly, and helped us select and customize the crepes to our liking. He also shared some great information about local attractions and about his restaurant in Alaska that he manages during the summer months. This establishment is well deserving of everyone of its five stars in its rating. Put this on your list of ”must do” when in the Kona area. Our only regret... we discovered this gem on the last day of our trip as we would have returned again to enjoy this top notch experience.More
