Just around the corner from our hotel (Club Quarters) we found this pub. Seating was a little disjointed so we chose to sit at the bar where we were served a great cheesesteak. The bartender was super, treated us like locals.

Its quality cheesesteaks here. My friends and I ordered in advance and our large order was ready on time. We got the traditional cheesesteak, Cleaver, Block, Zinger and beef Italiano with a large order of their onion rings. Wow their onion rings are probably the best we've ever had. Thick crunchy texture with an amazing crisp. My order of the Block was delicious and I ate that thing in less than 10 mins. The combination of tender rib eye steak, sharp creamy provolone with the thick bread has just pushed Cleavers for me up the list as one of the top cheesesteak spots in the area. The was plentiful with 1 lb of meat so we definitely had some leftovers with this one.
Cheesesteaks here are just super savory and hearty. Very clean packaging and amazing ingredients. We were sad the waffle fries were out, but Ill definitely be back for their other subs as well. The location is right on a busy main road so finding street parking is probably the best. Customer service was great as the large order was 100% accurate and ready for pick up at the desired time. My friends recommended this place and we were so glad we stopped in.

During a trip of sampling cheesesteaks we have to put Cleavers among our top choices. Really good steak and onions on a great roll. Love the ambience of the place too. Bar and seating area make it something for everyone.

The locals were able to get in, order, and get out, but for us first timers it was total confusion. The menu is on a huge board that cannot be seen in one viewing; you have to move around to be able to see it all. There are no size descriptions on the menu items, and no prices. I ended up paying over $35 for two sandwiches that were much too much food for the two of us, but the harried young man taking orders couldn't be bothered to make sure I wasn't making a mistake. A simple "most people share a sandwich, they're on 12 inch hoagie rolls" would have been appropriate and helpful. One sandwich and a side of fries would have been a perfect order for the two of us. He continued to pretend he didn't understand me, prolonging the confusion and discomfort. Seating was outside on the sidewalk and we enjoyed sitting there people watching. When the food came we enjoyed every bite, the sandwiches were so good, but the poor treatment I encountered at the order counter left a sour taste.

I'm currently in Jefferson hospital for surgery. I ordered a large cheese steak and waffle fries. Total$20.14
This is the worst cheese steak I have ever looked at,and tasted. The meat is Cold, the bread was soaked, the onions weren't cooked, and the entire experience was a disaster!!!
Don't ever spend your money at Cleaver's!!!

Tourists flock to Genos/Pat's and take pictures while eating subpar PCS'. Locals have their favorites, be it Tony Lukes, Jim's and even Chink's(although the SJWs got that place renamed). And let's be honest, the REAL Philly hoagie is the Roast Pork- and no where does that better than John's, with DiNic's a close second.
All that being said, Cleaver' takes the PCS to a whole different level. I REALLY like Tony Luke's, but will never forget my first Cleavers experience. The meat is gristle free, evenly cut and cooked. The onions were flavorful, soft without being soggy. The whiz distribution and quantity was just right. The bread was just firm enough to hold it all together, and fell apart at the end- the way it should.
The value that you get for the price (which isn't cheap) is good. This ain't your mama's PCS.

We went here for dinner and I had my first ever cheesesteak. We wanted to sit upstairs, but it was full, so we went and ate in at the other side of the restaurant. The food was tasty, the service was great, and we had a seat at a bar which had a view of the street so we got to do some great city people watching. I would come back for the next trip!

I came here for lunch one day and their cheesesteaks are MASSIVE. Will definitely last for two meals. The only reason it wasn't 5 stars is that I ordered ahead of time and got a text to head to the restaurant to pick up my order and when I got there, I ended up waiting an extra twenty minutes anyways.

Recommended by our hotel, the cheesesteak was delicious and large, ended up having the other 1/2 for breakfast. I was disappointed in the waffle fries particularly after reading some positive reviews. I might skip the waffle fries or maybe I just go the wrong ones? Service was good, ordered a sandwhich to go.

Visiting Philly and this place was recommended and I have to say I was thoroughly satisfied.
I read some of the reviews and perhaps the staff/management took note and made changes because the menu was fine, funny actually. The guy taking the order explained the options and exactly what my sandwich was.
I got the Effin Hot and it was soooooo goood!! My friend got the BBQ and it was equally as good (and I can see why it's the most popular). The have a variety of drink options with the soda having unlimited refills.
Great experience, nice staff and I'll be back to try others

I love Philly Cheese Steaks, so of course, once we arrived in Philadelphia, that was the first thing we tried. Going to an authentic cheesesteak place. Maybe all the other cheesesteaks I had sofar in New York, San Francisco, Chicago were not the real thing and this is, but then I know now that I do not like Philly Cheesesteaks at all. This was disgusting and absolutely the worst thing I have ever eaten. Never again. I will stick to my unauthentic Chilly Cheesesteaks in the other cities.

Who jacks up a cheesesteak in Philly? Cleavers, that’s who. Beef is tough and LOADED with GRIZZLE and FAT. Roll is doughy and soft, like something you’d get a a franchise in Alabama.
Waitresses are off putting and act as if they have something better to do. In one specific case they did: babysitting their 5 year old daughter. The little girl, while clearly out of place at the bar was at least getting the full attention of the waitress.
The cheese fries are decent.

I know that Atlanta is famous for lemon pepper wings and NY is famous for the pizza and Orlando is famous for the 10 dollar water at Disney World!! I happen to be a Philadelphia resident at T for Temple U and never tried a cheesesteak!! I know that is insane and so I decided to make it a statement of the past and so I went tonight for a cheesesteak!! I would say I’m a funny guy and I put the reminder on my phone as a vegan foodies dream dinner!! I was being extra and I vegans would be very annoyed in a place that serves cheese steaks!! I got a steak sandwich with provolone and lettuce and onions on a seeded roll!! It was very filling and I only ate half and I’m still full!! I got to order on a fancy machine and they gave me a number and called it out on a loud speaker!! I haven’t had very many cheese steaks in my life so I can’t tell you if it was better than other ones but it was very good!!

Big sandwich but not great value. Service is rude and abrupt when ordering, and yet they make sure you see the tip option on the tablet. Can't say they do anything to warrant a tip. It's take away which is okay but they have a blaring announcement system that calls out your number from a loud distorted speaker when your order in a paper bag is ready. It really is unpleasant if you decide to eat there. They sell ice tea in a bottle but will not provide a cup nor ice so you pay $3.50 for room temperature plastic bottle of tea. Better value elsewhere with much better service and atmosphere.

I enjoyed my chicken cheesesteak. It was huge and I got onions, American cheese, pickles, and ketchup. The bread was thick and it contained sesame seeds. The price of just over fourteen dollars ($14.00) was fair. I felt that the staff was impatient, but the food came out quickly. There was an upstairs area to sit and to eat; there was also a restroom. This place accepted cash and credit card.
