Service run very slow. The waitress doesn’t even know the menu how the dishes come out from the kitchen. They serve us first the drink and after a while we got the food. Both plate were very heavy that I can’t even finish it. Espresso...was burn and watery, you can’t even call espresso but dirty water. For 2 coffe, 1 juice, 2 plate of eggs we paid 70$ !!! That’s insane !!! Is not even a poche place. I don’t suggest to anybody to get breakfast in this place. Never in your life.More

Strolling through the Village on a sunny spring day, we happened to pass by a neighborhood eatery, Buvette, which caused us to turn around and take a second look as it reminded us of a small European cafe. The outside street-seating was mostly full and...buzzing with life on a Wednesday afternoon so when we found a table big enough for our party of four to squeeze around we were quite happy. While I wasn’t impressed with the wine list and the corresponding high prices, I was excited by the long list of creative cocktails and was happy to see one of our favorites on the list- the French 75 (Soixante Quinze). Deviating from the most common recipe, Buvette, used Cognac instead of Gin, which was mixed with fresh lemon juice and champagne and served in a small, chilled wine glass. Buvette has a small, but adequate food menu serving up a lot of the typical French favorites including escargot, Croque monsieur, steak tartare, coq au vin, and a selection of fromage and charcuterie or cafe gourmand and Tarte Tatin for dessert. Expect anything you order for lunch to be “snack” like and served in smaller portions on small plates, but we found the portions adequate for our family. Our favorites were the: Les Oeufs Vapeurs- Chevre (steamed organic eggs, goat cheese & sun-dried cherry tomatoes on toast), the Croque Forestier (roasted mushrooms, gruyere & sun-dried tomatoes) and the Waffle sandwich, with bacon, a fried egg, and Gruyere.More

I came here for brunch and I had the Croque Madame which was better and much smaller than any I’ve had at other restaurants. I know that this restaurant is described as serving “small plates” but I don’t think people usually order more than one...dish at brunch.More

Great brunch outdoors l. As always, the food was fantastic. Service was also quite attentive. Try the Croque Madame!

I do like the food here, that is not my issue. They have a really bad attitude and more importantly they like to rip off their customers. Tonight we ate there and dined outside. They did us the "favor"of seating us. When the bill came,...they handed us the hand held processor to sign which they pre-populated the tip with 25%. Let me decide how much I want to tip you and your bad attitude. My friend and I were disappointed that they would take advantage and do that. We are generous and appreciative but that should come from us, not you... Disappointing and unnecessary...More

Absolutely the best waffles I have ever eaten. The whipped cream tasted very good and the strawberries are fresh.

Got in without a wait on a morning weekday. Tables were a bit small for our food and people maneuvering around without nearly knocking things over, but the food was great! My husband got the waffle sandwich, which was the envy of our tastebuds and...I got the oatmeal with fresh berries. It was good quality, but nothing like the waffle sandwich. We can't wait to return and try more things!More

Outstanding croque madame for breakfast and fresh juice. I love this place! The atmosphere is very reminiscent of being in France. Service and food are great in this tiny restaurant. Sat at the bar. Small plates.

Went with friends for brunch on Sunday and loved everything- The place (super cozzy), the location (middle of West Village) and the food!- We ordered the top dishes (waffle with eggs/bacon), eggs with prosciutto and the scones (loved, loved the scones)- Coffee was very good...too. They don't accept reservations but waiting was not that long, so totally worth it- Better if you go in small groups.More

This is a really good restaurant. I went for brunch and it was moderately busy, and it wasn’t clear that you were supposed to wait to be seated. So my boyfriend and I just walked in and when the waitress turned around, we asked if...we could sit anywhere, she said we were supposed to wait at the front “but we might as well come with her because we were already here” and she sat us at the bar. We both got the Belgian waffles and the freshly squeezed orange juice, and it was amazing! We’ll definitely be back.More

A Croque is a sandwich. Normal size. It had some greens as a side. Condiments were not in the sandwich but offered separately.
