About
Taiyaki NYC is a warm, traditional environment that captures the Japanese roots where the dessert, Taiyaki originated. Taiyaki is a fish-shaped waffle that is traditionally filled with red bean paste or custard. We serve Traditional Taiyaki and Taiyaki Cones baked with red bean or custard. Taiyaki Cones are then filled different flavors of soft serve ice cream: vanilla, chocolate, matcha (green tea), hojicha (roasted green tea), mango, strawberry, and a plethora of toppings. Since inception, Taiyaki NYC has innovated with creative Japanese-inspired desserts including Croyaki (croissant and taiyaki hybrid), Unicorn Floaties, Unicorn Taiyaki, and Jiggly Souffle Pancakes.

Having seen people raving about Taiyaki NYC and their Insta-worthy creations, as we were in the area and with it being 36degrees out an ice cream made perfect sense. Whilst not opting for the typical unicorn ice cream, I decided to go for the Matcha green tea (option 3 on the board) and I only have one word: WOW The ice cream came with some red sauce on it (I think it was raspberry) along with a dusting of fine matcha powder on top. In all honesty, I could have gone without the extra dusting as it is easy to breathe in (lesson learnt!) The soft serve was packed with flavour whilst still being delicate and not over powering. The waffle cone was crisp yet soft, with that renowned red bean paste at the bottom (what flavour is that?) My partner opted for the vegan mango option of which she enjoyed but would have liked to have had a bit more variety to choose from. All in all a cracking little stop in a hot afternoon whilst walking through Chinatown. All in all, a cracking

I will say that I was weary of falling into an Instagram treat trap in which the food was tasteless but, pretty. However, it was a delicious ice cream from start to end. We had the matcha green tea swirl and it was amazing. It was creamy and the fish made a tasteful ice cream into an experience. The red bean paste at the end of the fish cone is what will make this spot a must-go for future NYC trips. P.S If the ice cream were not that good, the location would have prevaled on my memory of it. It is a very small spot, with no seating space and surrounded by trash. So, if your experience will be affected by that, I recommend being mindful that you will have to walk a block or two for a beautiful sight.

While we were in Chinatown, my niece and I stopped by for an ice cream cone. They were adorable! Certainly Instagram worthy. And tasty! I went all in with matcha and roasted matcha ice cream, red bean paste, and mochi--and it was incredible. Though they certainly have more approachable flavors (vanilla and chocolate ice cream, custard filled cones, etc.) for the slightly less adventurous as well. "Fish ice cream" was certainly a hit with my teenage niece.

The service was fast, friendly and efficient. The cones were adorable. No one in our group truly loved the ice cream and only one person enjoyed the cone. Get one for your group, take the pictures and save yourself some money.

The green tea ice cream is good - it's a good balance between creamy and bitter and isn't sweet. The red bean paste at the bottom of the taiyaki isn't anything of note and is insignificant in scope of everything else to eat, but it's plated in a very cute manner. Given the portion size, quality, and popularity of the restaurant, the prices are reasonable. There's VERY limited seating inside the restaurant, so be prepared to order and leave.

Delicious ice cream and cones. Whenever my family is in NYC or Miami it's a must for fish ice cream. The fish cones filled with custard are delicious and the ice cream is good as well. Service is always good.

Our friend, local to NYC took us here and it was delicious and the most unique ice cream dish I’ve ever had. The waffle cone was delicious and had a creamy custard inside. And, the ice cream itself was very good quality. Messy, but worth it.

We made the trip and because of the smog, they were understandably closing early. However, they still let us in and gave us an incredibly good deal on their mochi donuts, which was so kind of them. When we're back in NYC we'll 100% come for the ice cream!

What an awesome spot! Ice cream was delicious, such a great variety. The soufflé pancakes are out of this world. The employees were amazing. They went out their way to help my family with our Subway trip plans back to our hotel. Don't miss this spot!

Stopped in after lunch with my girlfriend and got another reliably perfect traditional taiyaki with red-bean paste for an extremely thoughtful price. Made professionally, a guaranteed even-spread of red-bean paste makes for a delicious, warm and cozy treat that doesn't leave you oversaturated with sugar. BUT, if you ARE in the mood for something a little extra, they have no end of fun and exciting ice creams and toppings to add to your taiyaki. Definitely will get one of those next! Truly can't recommend this place enough, the staff even wrote happy birthday and drew a little birthday cake on our paper bag because they heard it was my girlfriend's birthday. A beautiful experience all-round.

They were friendly, and the ice cream was delicious. The cones were absolutely incredible. I had a cone with custard, vanilla ice cream, condensed milk, and coconut sprinkles.

Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
