We had some lunch here while waiting for Sam Adams brewery to open up. We chose it because we were on foot and we didn't know what else was around. So glad we found it! I had a pastor and a lengua taco. I found...myself wishing I'd ordered one more taco but my husband shared some of his meal with me. Pastor is usually my favorite, and it was really good, but the lengua was amazingly good! Yes, it is beef tongue, but don't let that discourage you if you haven't had it before. It is one of the most tender cuts of beef when prepared properly, and theirs was superb! The only reason I didn't give five stars is that my husband's carnitas enchiladas had so much iceberg lettuce, tomato and sour cream piled on top I thought at first that he had ordered a salad with rice and beans. The enchiladas were buried under all of it, and they were yummy. He usually orders enchiladas, but having them completely smothered wasn't what he was expecting. If we lived here we'd come back, but we'd ask for them to leave that off.More

Burritos and quesadillas were both delicious and authentic. Wish we lived closer so we could go again!

I can't figure out if this is a chain or not - there seem to be a number of restaurants in Boston area with the same name. Anyway, we found this one and were very favorably impressed. The flavors brought us back to Mexico. In...fact, while I love hot sauces, I avoided putting much on because I didn't want to overshadow the flavors already in the food. I had Tacos al lengua. They were packed full of very tender, moist and flavorful chunks of meat. The tortillas were not the thin-rolled style, but rather thicker soft corn tortillas that seemed like they had been recently hand made. We also got what they called a "bowl" -- which was in fact a platter of what might be in a very large burrito. The chicken chunks in it were very nicely spiced and a real treat. Beans were fine, but not exceptional. Rice was a good yellowish Mexican rice, unlike the greasy TexMex style spanish rice. All in all a really nice meal. If we lived nearby I would be doing takeout here. Not much seating - just narrow against the wall counters. We went early so got to look out on the street.More

Visited this tiny place on Shawmut Ave on 5 occasions, tried a lot of there stuff and was very pleased with the flavour quantity and price. Fantastic enchiladas specially the one with chorizo. A must if you are into food and are not one for...trimmings. This is a foodies paradise.More

Generous portions and reasonably priced. The line moved quickly. Good stop after the brewery tour! Seems to do a brisk take out business

You will not do wrong here. Order takeout and sit out on the Southwest Corridor park. Great tacos --like the chicken tinga.

First night in Boston and I wanted a small meal and a good meal for my husband. Well it was as pleasant as the reviews. I had the tostada with the cut beef for $5. I was please that the beef was not chewy as...I thought might be the case in this price range. My husband had the enchilada large dinner for $12. The portion size was very good and enjoyed it. We were there after 8pm and they had 3 customers waiting for their order and after us was a steady stream but not overwhelming. So obviously a favorite in the area. I can see why, it would definitely be a regular takeout or eat in if I lived here.More

Their beef burrito is the best burrito I have ever eaten! I highly recommend this place. Seating is extremely limited though.

I’ve been going to this hole in the wall restaurant for years now. Food still tastes amazing. They’ve since then opened a second location near JP licks (an ice cream place on Centre). I’ve introduced this place to about 15 or so people, and all...of them love it. The amount of seating is sparse, but in the summer time you can just take your food to the park across the street. I also choose to call ahead my order so I can avoid the out-the-door line that sneaks up around dinner time.More

I have had Mexican food in Florida, New York, and Chicago and this place easily compares. Really amazing food! I would recommend anything with carnitas in it such as the torta or the tacos. The torta was amazing and came with guacamole and a jalapeño...aioli of sorts. The tacos were also fantastic. The place is a little out of the city, but easily worth the walk or drive. It is a little small so expect to stand for a little bit, but most people take out. All in all, fantastic authentic Mexican food!!!More

The restaurant is very small with about eight counter stools; the door opens literally with inches to spare from the front counter; very cramped while in line you will be inches away from people trying to enjoy their meal. Because of this most people do...takeout and in my opinion, Mexican food is too messy to takeout and not the best to reheat. It's also in an area where it's difficult to park. I did enjoy my shrimp quesadilla, the chips were very good and have a hint of lime on them.More

JP has its institutions and this local place is quickly becoming one. The place is small, and don’t be intimidated by the line, most people get their food to go. We enjoyed the shrimp and chicken Tonga tacos when we stopped in. This will be...one of our local places.More

Do not be fooled by the small size of the restaurant or the modest outside. This place has absolutely awesome Mexican food. Service is fast and friendly, but more importantly the food is great. The restaurant is small so you are probably better off getting...your food to go. Just down the road from the Stony Brook T-stop so you see a lot people stopping by before heading home. I had the fish burrito and it was pure genius.More
