We were in Boston 4 days and we visited Bovas, 4xs. Loved it all. Who wouldn’t want to support a small community business in a cute Italian neighborhood. We must have spend $100+. And we are flying home with a bag of goodies.

We stopped in this bakery while on a North End Food Tour offered by the Marriott where we were staying. The owner spoke to us for quite a while, explaining the history of the bakery and how three families are now working together to run...the business. Luckily, for us, there was NO line so we had ample time to select the cannolis we wanted to purchase. We bought a variety of them......Florentine, Creme Brûlée, Chocolate Chip, the "original"ones, and more. All were delicious! One advantage that Bova's (versus the other two cannoli shops there) offers is that they accept credit cards. Much more convenient for us, instead of having to pay cash.More

If I recall correctly credit cards are accepted but cash offers a discount. I believe the delish Oreo cannoli I had was $5. I waited in a line inside the shop but it moved quickly.

We came here for their Cannoli and we were not disappointed. Line was long but it move fast and well worth the wait. They're fresh and have different flavors to pick from! We had florentine (and it was BIG), creme brule, pistachio, and oreo. OMG,...forget any thoughts of a diet, they were good! My most favorite is the Florentine. My husband loved the pistachio. People show up for the sweets and this place can absolutely satisfy a sweet tooth. A must stop if you're in Boston!More

We got a chocolate chip cannoli and a slice of boston creme pie. Of course I could have gotten a ton more because everything looked incredible. Delicious!

We visited 4 bakeries in the North End and this was by far our favorite. Best eclair! Delicious! Don't be fooled by the long lines at the other touristy bakeries. This is so good.

Forget Modern & Mikes. Bovas is the best bakery in the North End. It’s small, has no seating, & hasn’t been updated in forever, but the pastries are magnifico!! Line was out the and around the corner, but moved quickly. We were in and out...in 30 minutes. Staff are friendly, fast, & happy to explain any of the pastries. As usual, we had a list of pastries to bring home to people who heard we were going. The Florentine cannoli is my favorite, but nothing disappoints.More

The Boston creme pie was delicious, you will stand in line, but it's worth it. There were so many cakes, pastries and cookies it was hard to make up my mind, but again I went with the recommendation of a local.

Wow - this place was great! Everything is about $5 each, they prefer cash, and you might end up in a line that goes down the street - but it's all worth it. Canollis were the best-ever (IMO anyway), and the crème brûlée was off...the hook (and deep!). I was here mid-week at about 9pm and had to wait for 15-20 minutes in line - worth every second.More

We wandered in here after eating an awesome pizza lunch and wow. I am a fan for life. This place blows the others out of the water. THE COCONUT CAKE!!! It might be the best cake I've ever had. It was sooo sooo good. Not...cheap, but nothing in the city is. And man it was worth it. I would have paid double after I tasted that cake. Their cannoli's are yummy too. Such friendly service too! Another bakery I walked into I pretty much got my head bitten off for asking a question about an item. So we left and came here and man I will be dreaming about that coconut cake!!More

So delicious! Over the course of a recent weekend, we went to Bova's twice and had the pleasure of eating Rice Balls, Calzones & Cannoli's. Everything was delicious! Our favorite calzone was the spinach and cheese, but they were all great. The ordering process is...a little confusing and the person who took our order was clearly impatient, but they are very busy so we didn't let it sour us on the place. Order and get out! :)More

Visiting Bova is a must do whenever we visit the city, we can’t miss it! There’s often a long line but it moves quickly. Lobster tails are the best in the North End!

Tried multiple sweets. All were astonishing and delicious. Visited all the big 3 bakeries and Bova gets our vote as the best! If you can’t find something there you just need to go home.

This bakery is in the middle of Little Italy in the North End in Boston. When we arrived about 8:00pm, the line was out the door, around the corner and down the street. Thankfully, it moved quickly. Once we got inside, the line snakes around...down the right side of the store, makes a curve around at the back and then snakes up the other side to the front. The upside of this is that it allows you to walk by all of the cases of food so you can make your choice of what you want before it's your turn to order. The baked goods are too numerous to list from cookies and macaroons to several kinds of cheesecake, cakes, brownies and of course many different flavors of cannoli's. Portions of each are huge and easily shared. They also sell pizza by the piece, calzones and riceballs. We only tried a cannoli and a brownie, but both were fantastic.More

Not even edible. I hate even leaving a bad review, typically I wouldn’t say anything at all but since other visitors may spend their time going here and waiting and money then they should know. This was such a disappointment after all the hype but...honestly everything (3 different cannolis and a eclair) were so bad we didn’t even want to eat them - it all went in the trash. Everything tasted so old and stale and the cream was old and left a disgusting oily coating in our mouth. We went on a Saturday and there were people lined down the sidewalk so I would have thought everything was fresh? But there is no way. It all had to be a week old, at least. The staff was nice though and moved the line quickly. Maybe when they are fresh they are the best but I find that hard to believe. Also it was so uncomfortable hot in the shop and felt stagnant. I hated being in there and my husband had to go stand out on the sidewalk. Like even propping the door open to allow airflow would have helped.More
