We had a two pizza’s and a beer. It was pretty quiet when we entered, but it was also still early (5 pm). Good service and the pizza tasted really good. Pure and authentic taste, which was what we wanted.

While walking the freedom trail through Boston, Fat Man Reviews stopped in the North End to try out Locale. Locale is a modern pizzeria serving gourmet Neapolitan-style pies, wine & craft beer in a quaint ambiance. We started with the Eggplant Rollatini. This is made...with eggplant, mozzarella, ricotta, covered in a tomato sauce, and we topped with Parmesan. The marinara is a bit salty, especially with the ricotta. The marinara is simple and full of tomato flavor. The mozzarella is fresh and tasty in the inside and a bit stretchy. The eggplant rolled around the cheese is soft and breaded well. The basil adds a freshness to the dish. The Parmesan added another level of cheesy flavor to the dish. The whole bite has a creaminess to it. It may be a tad soggy on the bottom but most of the texture of the dish is great. We also tried a pizza called the Piccante. This pie comes with homemade tomato sauce, mozzarella and pepperoni. The pepperoni has a nice spice to it and is a bit chewy and there is good amount on the pizza. The dough is stretched to a nice thin crust with a good chew and slight crunch. The pizza is sauced properly to the edge. The cheese is good and tasted fresh, but I feel like it could have used just a bit more on the whole pie to cover it completely. They cook everything in a brick oven Locale serves several varieties of starters, salads, sandwiches and pizzas. The server a lot of local or regional beers and have a nice wine selection. The servers were very friendly and knowledgeable. The place is pretty small, so I highly recommend a reservation. The Fat Man says that Locale is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.More

Pre-booked this excellent restaurant as there was a fiesta in the North End. Sat outside as it was a lovely evening. Had great food and really fantastic and friendly service. Perfect evening.

My husband and I recently spent a few days in Boston and went to Locale twice in three days! The first visit we had the pistachio pesto pizza and the prosciutto and arugula pizza. Both were very, very good. We came back the next day...to order our "go to" pizza of sausage and pepperoni (Rocco) and it just might have been the best pizza that we have ever eaten. I highly recommend this place!More

Locale hit the spot for a late night bite of pizza after arriving at the airport. This is a very casual spot with some nice outdoor dining. They do take reservations, and we were promptly seated upon arrival. It took quite a while for our...server to come to the table, they were crowded with every table busy and seemed to have only 2 servers. That said, once our order was taken, the food arrived quickly and was surprisingly good. We tried a pizza with meatballs, and it arrived piping hot, very thin, with a nice char. There are plenty of pizza options in the north end, and this is a pretty solid pick.More

We went there for lunch on a Saturday. The food was great, but the service was awful. The waitress was super annoyed and we felt like we have to apologize for disturbing her.. I would definitely recommend the place for the food.. we just got...unlucky with the waitress. She did super unfriendly and acted like she can’t wait for us to just go away and leave her alone.More

Lucky find while strolling around little Italy at dinner time. Seated quickly by friendly server. Salads & several unique pizzas were ordered. Our favorite was the pistachio pesto pizza with sausage. Yummmmm

This was my first trip to the North End of Boston and hadn’t quite appreciated how busy it would be on a Saturday night. We soon realised that we would struggle to get a table anywhere so we’re pleased and relieved when we happened across...this small pizza restaurant that had a table free. It was a bonus that the pizza was tasty and good and I would happily recommend this restaurant.More

Third stop on a little family pizza tour. Pizza was good, not great. The crust was doughy and would have made excellent bread for sopping up your sauce, but too heavy for me for a pizza crust. Small spot, like most north end spots. I...would stop again but wouldn’t go out of the way for it.More

This is a small restaurant and looks a little downtrodden. The Caesar was good, but the pizza was disappointing. With all the reviews I expected something phenomenal. I would try elsewhere.
