Everything about this place exceeds expectations! Truly - the service, the food, the price. We have been four times over the past few years and have been delighted every time. The regular menu is excellent and every night there are different specials that are fantastic....Do not miss the Tiramisu! AMAZING! The service is attentive, friendly and enjoyable. These are not part-time servers, it is family run by mature, wonderful folks who will tell it to you straight. Go here. It will make your day!More

Authentic hearty, Italian home style food? Yes. Friendly, genuine, down to earth staff? Yes. Quirky? Yes. Number one in Boston? Sorry, no.

I am not from Boston but was meeting my family to celebrate a birthday. I chose this restaurant based on TripAdvisor rating it as #1 out of 1587 restaurants in Boston. REALLY?????????? Two appetizers; bruschetta & calamari. Absolutely nothing to write home about. My entree:...pesto pasta with shrimp. I ate the shrimp and left the VERY overcooked pasta in the oily sauce. Hostess (owner?) stood at her stand & when I asked to order more wine, she stayed put & said "I can hear you" (i.e. wasn't going to come to the table and acted like I was bothering her). The other diners in my party liked their entrees but they weren't anything special. If you appreciate good wine, this is not the place! I really have no idea how this restaurant got their TripAdvisor rating. I'd put it closer to the bottom of the 1578 restaurants in Boston.More

From the taps on the glass signaling that our table was ready, to the tiramisu that was to-die-for, our first visit to Mario's was one we hope to repeat on our next trip to Boston. The shrimp with asparagus was divine, broccoli-rabe was abundant and...perfectly prepared, the marinara was fresh, and both of our veal dishes were tender and delicious. There was even something special about the dressing on the house salad! And yes, the tiramisu was truly masterful! Thank you Ursula and staff. We had a great evening!More

The staff was very nice, appies were tasty. Prices were very reasonable, but our entrès were not fabulous. I had the Alle Mario (seafood pasta) mussles and clams were overcooked. My wife had veal cutlets which the breading was a bit tough. Ot was okay,...but not what we were expecting for #1 TripAdvisor restaurant in BostonMore

Felt like I was at my Nana's. Food was very much like I remember growing up. Ursala and Antonio made me feel at home. Will definitely be my go to place when flying out of Logan.

I'd give it a 10 if I could. Lasagna and meatballs were great! Service was some of the best ever. Get the Cannoli!!! We also had the Alfredo which was very good as well. The Sangria and Lemoncello spritz was also very good. Again, the...service was so great. It was very down to earth and "homey". 10/10More

We found this place after searching Trip Advisor and noticed this was the #1 restaurant out of 1,600 plus. Curious we headed out. It's any easy walk from the Wildwood T stop off the blue line. We found it, nothing fancy really and the place...was quite small. Definitely off the beaten path and definitely a locals place. Although it was small everything was very clean, tidy and comfortable. There were two service staff members on the floor, they were very friendly and I later found out one of them was one of the actual owners. My wife ordered a glass of wine, we had salad and bread while we waited for our food. So far everything was good but nothing was over the top. Then the food came and then I realized why this place was #1..... I had Shrimp with vegetables in a white wine sauce with penne pasta, my wife had a shrimp alfredo dish. First of all it was served PIPING HOT and very fresh. This food didn't sit one secord, it was made to order, plated and then put on our table. The taste was amazing and was REAL home cooked Italian food, probably the best I've ever experienced. We later found out this place has been in business for 41 years! You certainly do not stay in business that long serviing bad food! Thank you Mario's for a wonderful dinner and experience. You deserve the #1 spot!More

Excellent experience all around. It felt very “local” but very inviting. Nothing fancy about the place when it comes to appearance but the service & food were great. My wife and I went for our baby moon trip and both ladies who served us were...very sweet and wished us luck which was a nice personal touch. Dining area is small but not crowded. We had 4 courses of food, the cannoli we had to take back to the hotel room and eat later bc we were so full, but we were never rushed. Everything was neat and clean as well. It’s located right on Chelsea so it’s east to access by Uber as well.More

This is the 2nd time I've been to Mario's - and it's just as wonderful the 2nd time as was the 1st. They make you feel "at home". The food is nothing short of amazing. I had the Bolognese, and my work colleague had the...Alla Mario seafood pasta dish. Both were absolutely delicious. The stuff mushrooms app is also very good. My colleague said the cannoli he finished his meal with was..."the best I've ever had". And we had a bottle of Ruffino Chianti Classico. All were excellent. The service was great, and the prices are reasonable. If you are in Boston, even for only a night or two, I HIGHLY recommend "Mario's". Two thumbs way up!!More

It is about 5 minutes from the airport. We made reservations because it is a small restaurant and def fills up quickly because it’s very popular and has many “regulars”. It’s so good-you’ll be happy you did.
