Go elsewhere! My friends and I are from Chicago. The concierge at our hotel recommended that we go to Bova for pastries and then to Artu for coffee. He advised us that we could not sit at Bova, but we could eat our desserts with...our coffee. Wow, was that embarrassing! We ordered our coffees and were sharing a cookie from the bakery when a waiter and then our waitress both yelled at us. We didn't bring out any of the other deserts, yet they kept coming up to our table and admonishing us that we could not eat outside food. We apologized for the misunderstanding and it became very uncomfortable. Then they kept walking by the table and staring at us. No coffee refills, just hints for us to leave. There are so many good Italian restaurants in that area. Based upon how we were talked to and treated, I will never be back. When we returned to the hotel, we told the concierge what happened. He will stop recommending Artu to other guests at the hotel. It was late at night and the restaurant wasn't even busy. There was really no cause to treat a guest like that. Come to Chicago. The people in our restaurants are much friendlier and accommodating!More

The food was served hot which is a huge plus. We ordered the calamari and meatballs and had the spaghetti carbonara for dinner which was all very good. Out waiter was awful, never checked to see if we needed anything. We had to flag other...waitresses for water refills and noticed everyone around us got bread except us. I believe his name was Lorenzo - ask for someone else if you get stuck with him because every waitress/waiter was on top of their customers.More

Excellent. Asked 2 of my Florida/ Boston friends for restaurants. They both listed Artu as first choice. Very solid Italian Restaurant. Food was great , service was terrific. Very good selection of Italian wines by the glass. Prices were very fair. Only thing I would...suggest they add would be a larger menu of specials. Great experience, will be back.More

My family and I stopped in Boston on the way back from our vacation in Maine. We looked up restaurants and made a reservation at Artu. The restaurant is very cute. We planned on eating here after we looked at the menu online and had...pizza. When we got seated and read the menu and asked about pizza, they said you would have to sit at the bar and order it. We had 6 in our party and didn't want to do that. The food was very good, but our table was extremely sticky. The service was ok. The bathroom floors were very sticky also. Not worth the money we paid.More

While we were in Boston last week I texted a friend that always has great restaurant recommendations where ever you are. He told me go to Artu and make sure you get the Meatballs as an appetizer. He was spot on !!! Three meatballs with...ricotta, delicious !!!!!!!! My had Pollo Arrosto, half a chicken roasted with roasted carrots. Perfectly cooked !! Moist and tender !!! I had the Pollo Saltimbocca. Chicken, fontina cheese, mushrooms and prosciutto !!! Delicious also !!! Our daughter had potato gnocchi !!!!More

We had reservations at Carmelina’s, but after feeling rushed and pushed into a cramped outdoor table, we left. Artu’s was nearby and we had read some really good reviews online so although the restaurant was completely empty, we took a chance. Best restaurant decision ever....Our waiter Jackson was SO gracious and seated us at a window seat. My wife is slightly gluten-intolerant and he let us know that practically any pasta could be served gluten-free. We have traveled to Italy many times and I prefer the northern cuisine to the southern, especially when it comes to lasagne. My wife suggested I get that even though it was not GF. And it was really good. Though it was southern Italy rather than northern Italy style. For an appetizer we shared the burrata. Probably the best we have had this side of the Atlantic. We’ll definitely go back next time we’re in Boston.More

My husband, 2 kids and I ate dinner here on a Thursday night. Service was great! Food was fantastic (chicken saltimbocca, fresh spaghetti, homemade meatballs). My daughter is on a limited diet (gluten & dairy free) and they could not have been more accommodating! Although...there is not a separate gluten free menu, our waiter Lorenzo made several suggestions on modifications that could be made to menu items to accommodate her needs. She ended up ordering gluten free pasta with chicken and broccoli in a garlic olive oil sauce - it was delicious!! We opted to stay for dessert rather than visit tourist trap Mike’s Pastries. We had tiramisu (maybe the best I’ve ever had), GF flourless chocolate cake for my daughter and wonderful lemon sorbet for my son! Our third time here over the years while visiting Boston- I’m so glad I decided not to try a new place. As always, Artu did NOT disappoint!More

No!!! Avoid!! There are so many other more charming, more delicious and more meaningful places to dine in the North End. This might work for a cold corporate luncheon, but otherwise it is soulless and the food is overly expensive and truly bland. It wasn’t...crowded on a Sunday for dinner- right there? That’s a sign!More

The group I came with found the restaurant to be loud. I've visited Italy multiple times - this seemed like an authentic Italian restaurant to me. Part of the allure is the fact that they're loud. As some have mentioned, the entrance is a little...bizarre and short of the small sign, we weren't sure we were in the right place. I'd made reservations and our table was available right on time. Our waiter was friendly and the food was served in a timely manner. Everything from the prime rib to salmon, from spaghetti and meatballs to chicken parm, was good. We were too stuffed to have dessert.More

Flight delays caused us to arrive in Boston very late. With no meal service offered we were starving. Found Artu just down the street was still open at midnight. Ordered a couple of pizzas and hoped for the best. Very pleasantly surprised, great pizza, good...bar, nice people. Pleasant find at midnight after a crappie travel day.More

Ok but not outstanding. The mushrooms on the saltimbuco weren't very fresh. Out wasn't served with any pasta or vegetables. The chicken parm tasted like it had been held in a warning oven before it was served not made to order.

Two things I didn't care for, everything else was great. The riso e fagioli soup had a tinge of tomato flavoring and I just want the straight traditional bean soup flavor. And the veal in the veal saltimbocca was very bland, even for a meat...that is by nature mild and delicate. But here's the good: The veal saltimbocca was a special request, substituting veal for the chicken on the menu. The accommodating and gracious server said no problem. The saltimbocca toppings were fine. Our companions loved their appetizer platter of roasted vegetables and their pasta dish with olive oil. Seating was comfortable, room decor was pleasant. Excellent cocktails from the bar.More

We did not have reservations for any restaurant this night. We just went to this neighborhood looking for an open table. This place turned out to be great. Food was very good and fresh. Very happy with service and the attention.

We really enjoyed our dinner. And the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We sat outside and according to our waiter the actual restaurant front was around the corner. The service was prompt anyway. We ordered the lobster arancini and pasta with meatballs. It was delicious!...I highly recommend this place.More

Artu Great Italian food. The Piatto de Salumi E Formaggio is excellent! Great value. Gnocchis were excellent. Outdoor dining is available. Very organized, safe feeling, all the right things: sanitized tables, QRC menus, waiters wearing propers masks. All in all, a great experience. Thank you...Artu’s staff for a great lunch experience! During these crazy times, my wife and I appreciated this relaxing moment !More
