We'd walked up to the North End to see the Old North Church one afternoon, only to find it was closed on Mondays. Salvaging the disappointing experience, we decided on an early dinner at the Famiglia Giorgio's restaurant, which is located on the same street...(Salem Street), about three blocks or so south (it'll be on the right, if you're walking). We got there about 4:45 pm, and were seated immediately. There were already quite a few people on this Monday. There are evidently two floors of seating, since we were asked when we came if we would mind sitting upstairs. We declined, since more stairs seemed too much after the full day's worth of walking, and so our party was seated at a table on the first floor toward the back. We started out with the Stuffed Mushroom, which were enormous filled mushroom caps. For dinner, we ordered Pasta Fagioli soup, Chicken Saltinboca, and Chicken Marsala, with a side of Veggies. The meals were excellent, and it is noteworthy that the portions were so large that all three of us adults needed to get to-go boxes for the left-overs. Dinner for three came to about $108 before tax and tips. A bit high, but I felt that might be about par for nice restaurants in the North End, plus we felt a little like splurging that evening anyway. Parking in the narrow streets of tha area looked slim to non-existent, but not a worry for us since we had walked from the Old North Church, and then after dinner, we called an Uber to take us to the Atlantic Wharf parking garage where we'd parked that morning. Easy! Overall, a very nice dinner, and Giorgio's has a spot on our list of places to visit again when we're in the area.More

My family is Sicilian from NY. I am very particular about Italian food.. especially linguine with white clam sauce. This restaurant did a very good job of it. Sometimes when I go to restaurants in the North End, they do a poor job but this...restaurant did a very good job. I'm not going to say excellent because my father made the best linguini with white clam sauce I ever tasted but that is a very hard act to follow! The bread that they serve is outstanding. It is a hearty peasant Italian bread. Delicious! The wine by the glass was excellent and then I topped it off with a decaf espresso with Sambuca. What could be better? I like this restaurant and I will come back again.More

Had a family dinner here in early September. It was among the best Italian meals I've ever had in my life. Everything was fresh and appeared to be made in-house (or not too far away), and the servings were huge. As my group spent most...of our time chatting and nibbling on appetizers, when the main course arrived we were bowled over. The servers were attentive and friendly. Will definitely try to return someday!More

A magazine review brought us here, and they weren’t wrong. Authentic Italian, huge portions, friendly service. It was a hot summer night, so sitting outside was the best option, but the interior was homey and charming.

We went with TA recommendations & were not disappointed. We called for same-day reservations for 2 but were told they were all booked up but we could try our luck before 7 pm as they hold a certain number of their seats for walk-ins. We...went & put our name on their list and had a seat in about 45 minutes. While waiting to get in, someone from another restaurant asked us if we wanted a seat but smiled and said, “Enjoy - they have been here for a long time” when we told her we were going to Famiglia G. The menu is huge, the servings are huge and the flavour is the biggest thing of all. They have a nice cocktail list and some tempting appetizers plus a seasonal list they add on … seeing the plates around us, I went straight for a fresh pasta with sauce and added sausage. They have many, many sauces to choose from so even narrowing it down to pasta & sauce leaves you thinking. The service was friendly and efficient and the prices are more than reasonable given the quality and portion size.More

My son and I got here just as it opened on a Friday afternoon, so we were literally the first ones to be seated. Our hostess was so kind and understanding as we took our time going through the menu. Service was quick, the food...was delicious - ** The serving sizes were HUGE. We were coming off a day of travel and sight seeing so even though we were hungry, we were not able to finish our dinners **. For a nice sit-down meal in the heart of the North End, this was a great first dinner for us in the city. We didn't order dessert or have an opportunity to try their homemade pasta, but it will definitely be on the list of things to try next time!More

First I will say this is my second time in Boston. The first time I visited "Little Italy" after we had dinner our last day and missed out on all of the restaurants. This trip I made sure to include it in my agenda. I...asked around and a local recommended this place and it did not disappoint. I got fettuccini noodles with marinara sauce and up charged to the homemade noodles and added Italian sausage and the meal was so good. You can taste the authenticity with the homemade noodles and sauce. The sausage was not too spicy but had a nice flavor. My friend got the ravioli with meatballs and again it was delicious. They started us out with fresh bread and Italian olive oil with some pepper and fresh parmesan cheese that was so good! The portions are huge also! I never have left food on a plate but I could not finish my meal. Come with an appetite and enjoy some of the best Italian food you will ever eat.More

Eggplant parmigian is my all time favourite thing. So of course I ordered it, expecting the usual meaty soft vegetable in a lovely tomato sauce. The La Famiglia Giorgio verson was AWFUL. The eggplant was sliced paper thin. Then each papery slice dredge in bread...crumbs. The result was a stack of mostly crumbs and dried out eggplant with cheese. Almost to make it worse, the portion was huge. Spare yourself the disappointment.More

My family and I have eaten at this restaurant a few times over the years visiting Boston. We waited over 1.5 hours for a table. We thought we like this place it will be good. Then we waited nearly 45 more minutes for the food...to come to the table. My son and I ordered pasta dishes. I cancelled my food order before it came and they accommodated this cancellation, thank you for that truly. When the food arrived for my family things were not hot, the pastas and sauces were of poor quality. We noticed several other people handing their dishes back. Overall if cooking pasta is your thing , it shouldn’t arrive all mushy and inedible and the sauce had the taste like it came out of a can, it tasted like metallic , not good any longer. I hope people read this before waiting . Please bring back your fresh pasta and good food.More

Wow! Excellent food and great for kids!! Food was amazing and service spot on and friendly (especially with the kiddos). Lobster ravioli appetizer with lots of sauce for dipping with the amazing fresh bread served upon seating. Split a special vegetarian pasta entree which was...just as good and tasty. Large portions. Server suggested two adults split an appetizer and split an entree and that was more than enough to fill us up after a busy day touring Boston. Kids (9 and 6 years old) had children’s pizza and penne pasta plain with a little butter and they devoured it. And these are two typically very picky eaters. Seems like we can never find a restaurant that both kids enjoy but they both loved it!!! A win all the way around…too bad we live 1500 miles away!More
