A friend and I ate at this bustling spot on Tremont Street very close to the Emerson theater and next to the Boston Common. We loved our respective dishes-each with handmade pasta. The Orecchiette Spicy Pork Sausage, Rapini, Garlic dish was good (a bit salty...so I should have asked for reduced salt if possible, but still good!) and the special gnocchi dish with a sweet sauce was delicious. The salad was also excellent. Wish we had time to try out an antipasto which looked great - or maybe a small pizza. So many choices - we will have to return. I ate here a few years ago and first time back, very pleased. Make a reservation as they are quite busy. It’s also a bit noisy if you want quiet I would go at an off hour (not Saturday night!). Restroom is downstairs. Waitstaff very attentive. Bread soft and delicious. I don’t have photos since we are our food up without thinking about that (and had to get to an 8 pm show). I’ll be back!More

If you notice , I did a review where I stated that "wonderful, all around". Something has changed. It was mediocre all around. From service to the food. Rather tasteless from appetizers to entrees. We had beet salad, sausage flatbread, sausage and orecchiette ( small...Plate), ribeye, swordfish and eggplant parmesan. The steak was order medium and it was served rare. Even the drinks were bad. We had to send back the ginger ale because they filled the glass with ice and there was little ginger ale. Bye-bye Teatro. Toscano- down the street would be a better choice. Not coming back.More

Surprisingly wonderful experience! We booked a reservation not knowing what to expect. The food and service were exceptional and not overpriced! Fresh Arugula Salad, Tortellini (Burrata, Roasted Tomato Brodo, Basil) and Orecchiette (Hand Crafted Spicy Pork Sausage, Rapini, Garlic). Nice selection of wine as well....We would return again without hesitation!More

The outside of this restaurant is fairly unassuming. The inside is nicely decorated and provides a good dining atmosphere. The place is reasonably priced and the menu has options for smaller plates or large portions. That was one of the things that helped us select...this restaurant. All of our food was very tasty.More

First of all. Location, location, location. It was very surprising. The service was excellent. Thank you, Wilson. It was a little noisy, but not obtrusive. It was clear that many of the patrons were eating early to get to a show. Didn't seem to detract...from the food. We started off with figs and prosciutto. Other than a little too much prosciutto, it was a wonderful dish. A little bigger figs and slightly roasted would have made this exceptional. At the same time we had the octopus. It was grilled perfectly. For main course we had the orecchiette, small plate. At the same time we had the eggplant parmigiana. We took home part of the eggplant dish. No room for dessert. We'll be back.More

Wine and antipasti to start, calamari served hot, in a cone shaped basket. Salad, pasta, and entrees followed and were shared around the table. (my favorite way to dine Italian) It’s cozy atmosphere, great service and well-prepared food, a recipe for a fine night out...with friends and family!More

We went to Teatro on Sunday night. You should make a reservation as it is always busy and the seating is very tight. The waiters are fantastic - cold water always being refilled. The food - well it is extremely delicious. You might want to...go with the small plates as it is very rich and fresh. I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or just a special night out.More

We were staying in the theater district and wanted Italian Food but didn’t want to walk to the North End. I did a little searching and we were pretty close to Teatro. Arrived just before 8 on Saturday night. Had no problem grabbing a couple...seats at the bar. Perfect time no as many people had just left to go to a show. Ryan, our bartender, was super friendly and helpful. The menu has good variety and you can order half portions of several dishes. I enjoyed the beet salad and half portion of their version of shrimp scampi. Both were delicious! My boy friend had the veal saltimbocca and he loved it. The bread was excellent as well. We were really happy to find this great restaurant. It was close to our hotel, the food was great and the prices very reasonable. We will go back!More

Just spent the weekend in Boston & happened upon Teatro. Who knew it was just kitty corner from Emerson?! Even better, since I am here every so often visiting my kiddo. No reservation of course, since as of late, my husband & I are spontaneous!...We call & it's bar seating only or a 915 seating, but we've got to catch a show. We luck out and nab seats at the bar. The gal and guy that take care of us that evening make recommendations that are spot on. We start with calamari - it's cooked perfectly; and the portion is definitely shareable - for definitely 3, 4 possibly. They also bring you some complimentary bread to nosh on while you're deciding what else to have! The cocktail list looks interesting and I will have to give that a go the next time I'm back. I'm partial to reds and had a glass of cabernet. Should've had the chardonnay since I wound up with mussels. My husband had it, and that was delicious. Son had the chicken parmigiana and had option of pasta. Good sized portion. Husband ordered the baby beets - we pause at the size, beautiful and delicious nonetheless. And I had the mussels...no shells, no work, just the mussels, the winning dish. Just as the staff described it. It was delicious!! The broth has a delicate richness to it and it's just perfect - the wine, touch of cream, and the crusty bread to soak it up. Mmmm goodness. Oh and we shared parmesan truffle fries! Cause when you see that on the menu, who can pass it up?! We'll definitely be back and will try and plan ahead and book a table in advance.More

We ate here for dinner while I was in town on business. The restaurant was very busy upon arrival, apparently due to the theater being in town. We were seated at the bar an service was good. The beer menu/options were a bit limited but...that's to be expected in an Upscale Italian Restaurant I suppose. The menu however has a good variety both in options and prices. They even have half portions at reduced price. All of our dishes arrived hot, fresh and very tasty. We were very pleased to find a seat without a reservation and receive such great service and food. This is an outstanding restaurant and we would definitely eat here again.More

We had a reservation as we had a show to go to. Arrived about 15 min. early and were seated right away. The waitstaff was EXCELLENT- very attentive and friendly. The bread is out of this world. We started w/ the arancini- they were to...die for perfect! I had the orchiette w/ sausage, did the half size and it was a perfect sized serviing. The flavors were wonderful and it wasn't a heavy meal. My husband had the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly and so delicious. We ended w/ the tiramisu and it was a great size to share- wonderful way to end the meal. We loved our experience here- and nice to see people dressed up for dinner.More
