Busy, very nice atmosphere, good service, fairly expensive (up scale) and nothing special about the food.

Great sea food restaurant in downtown Boston. It is very conveniently located by duck tours and the aquarium. The food is fabulous. I had the inperial soul off the classic part of the menu and it was outstandong.

We stopped here for a late lunch of clam chowder....couldn't leave Boston without enjoying one of their specialties.........plus a glass of wine. We both enjoyed our chowder.....very creamy and just what we needed on that chilly afternoon. What was astonishing to us, though, is that...we were served our chowder first and our glasses of wine were served a few minutes after that. Who does that??? I would think that most diners would like to enjoy their cocktails/drinks before dining. Can someone please inform Dilon, our server, the timing of drink versus food delivery?More

we each had lobster bisque followed by a shared dish of mussels, as a mid-afternoon snack (after a museum visit) both were excellent, as was the service

Lovely setting by Boston seafront. Lunch spoiled by poor service, exacerbated by cavalier attitude from management. Food was adequate but not special. A $180 lunch that was frankly disappointing.

Had lunch with friends here my first day in Boston. Boston offered plenty of good food during my stay but this was by far my favorite. The appetizers and cocktails were perfect. The meal was delicious and the perfect size. Although the restaurant was packed...inside and out, the staff was attentive, friendly, and quick to respond. I definitely recommend dining here.More

Mussels as an appetizer were delicious. Warm rolls were great with the meal. Shared a combo meal with crab cake, shrimp, and scallops and all were wonderful. Fantastic flavors and great seafood. Then closed with a great piece of Key Lime Pie. Would have given...a 5 rating for the food but service was a bit slow and we waited quite a while after we were finished on the check. The restaurant was not busy (we were there around 3:30) so it really appeared to be an issue of just being inattentive.More

We had dinner at Legal Sea Food and enjoyed delicious scallops and other seafood. It was crowded however, that wasn't a problem as there is plenty of comfortable seating and an excellent staff. we were serviced well and enjoyed the meal.

My wife and I stopped by the Legal after ridding on the public ferry service to USS Constitution ship. Friends had recommended this place and glad we lucked onto it. We ate lobster bisque, shrimp tacos and salmon bacon sandwiches.Everything was great and service good....Great job and thanks!More

I went with a friend after spending the day touring Boston. Neither of us were super hungry, so we asked to split an entrée and a salad. We got the shrimp scampi which was absolutely delicious as was the Caesar salad. They even split the...meal onto separate plates before they brought it out so we wouldn’t have to worry about it at the table. Great customer service, food and location! I’ll definitely be back.More

Wait staff was excellent. Clam chowder was tasty. The crab cakes were good but my dish was bland and tasteless, with the haddock being over-cooked.

Food was very good. The swordfish was cooked perfectly and the citrus beur blanc sauce made it even more delicious. The clam chowder was very good. Clammy. My husband loved the fisherman’s platter and it was a lot of food. Server was okay, but I...think she was overwhelmed and not able to be very attentive. The hostesses at the front were awful. They don’t seem to like their customers much. Very sour faces and attitudes right from the start. We had a reservation and they tried to sit us in the bar. When we said we didn’t want to sit there because it was high-top only, she groaned and rolled her eyes. Seating near the door is weird and drafty with waiting guests staring at you. We did not want to reject another table after their demeanor, but luckily got a table further back.More

if memory serves they have a small patio out front but you would need to see the hostess first to make sure they have someone working the outside tables. weather permitting of course.
