Just had the best steak ever!! Highly recommend this restaurant to the discerning guest. Sarah, our waitress made this night one to remember for a very long time. Being Scottish and not knowing what to order, Sarah, was a mind of information. So we took...her advice with food and wine, we were not disappointed. Returned to the Boston Harbour hotel. Feeling compelled to write this review. I would highly recommend staying at the Boston Harbour Hotel, where the food is excellent. But, if you want a steak night then the Smith, will always be a restaurant, I would highly recommend. Well done Sarah and the crew. An amazing evening.More

We had a great dinner at Smith and Wollensky! The service was friendly and attentive; thanks to Shanna (?) for her attentiveness. The sous chef also paid us a visit. We were taking a train to DC and they offered to package a dessert for...us (their huge chocolate cake)—a nice touch. They split a wedge salad for us too. The food was excellent and the filet mignons were cooked just right. The salad, sides, desserts and wine were all great accompaniments. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in Boston!More

We did Vegas last year and Boston this year! My boyfriend loves a tomahawk Steak, so on his birthday when we decided to go to Boston this had to be the choice, last year we ate in Vegas at S&W and it was awesome, This...restaurant chain is expensive but very good food. We started with a nice Red wine. They give you a tablet to look through, honestly the lighting isn't great and I don't want to work for my wine, so the waiter was great and suggested a bottle (120.00 from Chile) and it was very smooth. Then we had the scallops, you don't get much (2 large) but the beef and veg with them are so good. Then we got the tomahawk for 2, we ordered half mushrooms and half asparagus, and asked for mashed instead of what comes with it, it was plenty for 2. I also got the lobster tail, which was also very good. I love this place but being Canadian and paying the exchange as well as the prices, it's always just for a special occasion.More

The food was amazing, proper temperature and texture, the flavors are expected for the dishes. And the attention was superb. Thank you Claudia for the special treatment. Will come back definitely.

This was my first time here and won’t be my last. Good service, great food and a really nice atmosphere. This place is not cheap so they rich, famous and the wannabe’s were in attendance. I had the xx 9oz Wagyu Fillet (yes, I know...I was in the US, but it’s still a Fillet)More

My husband and I went for a special evening out. The staff were very friendly; however the attentiveness was a little lacking for the price point of the restaurant. Everyone was kind, but we did feel a bit overlooked. We ordered drinks which were delicious....I ordered the clam chowder and was quite pleased with it. The soup had a hearty base without being tacky, and it was rich with clams. I ordered the 10oz filet mignon with the mini twice baked potatoes. My steak was perfectly cooked but disappointingly underseasoned. The twice baked potatoes were a hidden gem! They were AMAZING! I would highly recommend. My husband ordered the 18oz New York strip. It was perfectly cooked but again underseasoned. He also ordered the truffle mac n cheese. We were very underwhelmed. It was underseasoned and bland. We have had much better elsewhere. Overall there was a great atmosphere, and we had a great dining experience... we were just disappointed at having to add salt to such expensive steaks. You don't expect to need to do that at a steakhouse.More

We just wanted a delicious Monday evening dinner and decided to come to Smith and Wolensky. The wagyu my husband ordered was amazing and I had the filet mignon. Our sides were delicious as well, creamed spinach and mini loaded baked potatoes. Perfect and very...good quality. We will now visit the location here in NYC and hope to experience the same thing.More

We had reservations for this restaurant for birthday celebrations while in Boston. We were looking forward to a special meal with views of the water. On arrival (we were on time), we were shown to our outdoor table. The first alarm was a dirty side...plate on the table (Smith & Wollensky branded, manufactured by Steelite International). Nobody came to the table for 15 minutes, not even an acknowledgement from any staff. When a staff member arrived after 15 minutes, he was extremely rude and wanted us to order drinks as quickly possible. Not the service expected from a premium restaurant charging $25 for a glass of wine. We informed the staff to cancel the order and reservation, left and rebooked at Ocean Prime, which was excellent and saved the evening.More

The customer service is absolutely TERRIBLE!!! The server was very rude and offensive. We waited hours to get our food. The last three times I have been to this restaurant, I have either been directed to sit in the bar section, or even with an empty dining room, they insist on sitting you on top of the next table. This is during a global pandemic,...mind you. Last night, they were so ridiculous, I walked out. They had an empty dining room, with one table full. They couldn’t bother putting us one table away, they wanted to cram us in so we can listen to the table next to us. This has happened to me three times now. I even wrote in my reservation request that I wanted a good table. One time, I complained about the table they showed us to. Their solution was to just about put us in the kitchen. This was a special milestone birthday. I had booked the restaurant 2 months ago. Luckily we were able to call the Palm, which is across the street. The palm is Head and shoulders with service. They bent over backwards to make us happy. I’ll never eat at S&w again. Why would they ever let a customer leave angry?More

Went here on a Saturday night to have burgers - a group of three, family. After first accepting our order of burgers (they have done a very nice one in the past), our waiter came back to ell us that unfortunately they were out of...ground beef, so we had to order something else form the menu. Obviously they wanted us to order something more expensive. We did, because we did not want to ruin our evening by negativity. We will not come back anytime soon.More

Being from the UK we found eating out in Boston very expensive and Smith and Wollensky was not cheap. This is probably because the pound sterling is undervalued at present against the dollar. We started with a lobster cocktail which when served out of the...shell was little more than a large langoustine but it was very tasty. My steak was cooked exactly to my liking and well rested with very good chips and the bearnaise well made. My wife had two smaller fillets wrapped in parma ham and served with what looked like red wine and port sauce. As a cook I do this at home and it is much better value here. I loved my meal here but something just stops me jumping up and down and shouting Hallelujah. It must be the price. The staff here are wonderful and really take care of their guests. Thank you.More

The worst service we've ever experienced in a high end steak restaurant. We had one server - no assistants - and we waited at least 10 minutes after seating to have our drink order taken. We asked for a quiet, romantic table for two and...indicated on our reservation made weeks in advance that this was a date night for us. They accommodated that request by seating us between a loud group of men having a boorish business dinner and the kitchen. Oh JOY! How lovely! We should have gotten up and left as there are so many restaurants in Boston that we wanted to try but only have 4 nights here. Since we'd never been to S & W's, we stuck it out in hopes that the food would make it worthwhile. We should have gone with our first instinct. Our food was horrendous. We ordered the surf and turf for two - thinking that the lobster tail here in Boston would be fresh and scrumptious! NOT! They were the same twin lobster tails we would have been served at an Outback back in Tampa. Certainly not worth the $150.00. We did not have a goodMore
