So, this is a beautiful and elegant space with a magnificent view of the Boston Public Garden. Over the years, there have been several restaurants in this space and we have dined at all of them. Our most recent visit will probably be our last...visit to Bistro du Midi. Our meal was breathtakingly expensive which might be ok if the food was sensational. It was not. The bread was stale, probably cut hours before it was served. And the rolls were tasteless. All the portions were so small that they literally looked lonely on the plates. The Chef’s tasting menu cost $150 but was available a la carte. The pasta dish cost $99.00 (that is not a typo) and arrived cold. The ice cream/sorbet portion was a single small scoop. As a matter of both quality and value, the restaurant is not worth the trip.More
