Oysters. Seafood. Tins. Lobster. Potato Chips. Beyond curating one of the largest tinned seafood collection in New England, Sidell and McClelland prepare such dishes as fried lobster and waffles with sweet corn butter and spicy maple syrup and French burgundy snails with black garlic butter to name a few. Chowder, bisque, an amazing raw bar, fried whole belly Ipswich clams and lobster rolls by the ounce are on the menu.

Overall the experience was underwhelming. It was very noisy and hard to have a conversation. The food was lackluster with small portions. The environment wasn’t special and it was overpriced

Mediocre and super slow service. Food quality was subpar to the point that I had to sent my main course back. The Tins are hyped up and super expensive. Total disappointment!

Recommended by a friend. Extremely disappointed. Bloody Mary’s were awful. Lobster rolls were as well. Clam chowder tasteless. Price was high. Service Ok. So miserable a culinary experience it was almost shocking. Will never be back.

Best lobster roll in Boston! We came by for lunch on a Monday and there was no wait. We had the calamari which was really good! It came with a spicy sauce that was delicious. Next, we had the clam chowder for our traditional Boston...lunch, and that was also good. This was perfect to balance out the good spicy sauce from the calamari. We finished up with hot lobster rolls and their Saltie Girl Salt & Vinegar chips. This lobster roll was so good, it was the best one we tried in Boston this trip. The bread didn’t get soggy and the lobster was really good. The perfect amount of lobster in the roll. The vibe inside and the food made this a great experience.More

Dined here in mid-October 2022. The place was crowded overall, but we were seated in an upper room somewhat off to the side that was relatively quiet. Our server was overextended among multiple tables, and the service straggled a bit throughout the meal with food...being delivered at odd intervals. But, the food itself was excellent. We ordered a seafood tower and several raw options/crudos, and they were all delicious. The wine selections were also varied and decent values. Several reviewers have noted the priciness of the menu, but we didn't find the prices out of line compared to other seafood places in the city. Like a lot of restaurants, it could use some more servers and a little more consistency in service; but, the meal as a whole was great, and I would definitely go back.More

Crowded, expensive, unfriendly staff and poor food.. I agree with some of the previous reviewers, go spend your money on Porto, Row 34 or other great outlets and avoid this place.

Stopped in for a later dinner with my wife. We were seated instantly. She has clam chowder and I had lobster bologna. Both tasted very good. This meal cost over $100 Our server was incredible and fast. Parking is impossible.

Overpriced and pathetically poor service. Restaurant acts like it’s doing you a favour by letting you in. The food is average and unnecessarily complicated; why not just serve good seafood? Worst service we’ve had in the US by far. Eye watering bill with nonsense kitchen...tip added on. Don’t bother.More

The pre-expansion Saltie Girl was amazing and was easily one of the best meals that I've had the pleasure of experiencing. I came back years later to find a gigantic restaurant that resembles a Cheesecake Factory for seafood. The expanded menu was full of gimmicky...entree items such as "lobster waffles." There is certainly less emphasis on fresh seafood expertly prepared and more of the turn and burn satisfy the masses sort of menu. What we did order was blaned and lacked seasoning. I can no longer recommend it to friends visiting Boston.More

brought her back from a weekend home; she wanted clam chowder. i told her to look up places close to NEU. we found Salti Girl was about a mile away. lets walk. great walk-beautiful area. we arrived about 2pm on Monday, Sept 26. Seated right...away, outside. good waiter, quick and professional. We ordered the clam chowder (large bowl for her, small for me) and clams. Chowder was tremendous, her large was more than enuff for her; mine small chowdersize was ok because of the clams plate. both excellent. a bit pricey, but well worth it. we will go back again when i am up there. the 'kitchen tip' on the menu (also advised by the waiter) was unusual; I have mixed emotions; you tip 20%+ should be shared,i believe. Older couple next table was very pleasant to talk with.More

Not impressed. I really wanted to like this place because it is unique and has such good reviews. The impression I got from the hostess was that they were doing me a favor to let me in. She said she had one table for two...left. Great! Then I walked past row after row of empty tables. When I asked her about them, she said they were for three or four people. I worked in restaurants my whole life, that’s not how seating works. If you have two people that want to eat, and you don’t have any other tables, you seat them at a 4 top. I hope you like IPA beers, because that is 100% the only things they have on the menu for beer. Menu is different, unique, but good. Our waitress was brand new, and it showed. Very very nice person, and she tried hard, but she didn’t know what she was doing. The menu states they have a 3% additional built-in tip for the kitchen staff. but the kitchen staff does not allow any changes or substitutions. Really? I’m all for “tipping out“ or helping out the kitchen staff, but they should earn it. The impression I was left with was that I was blessed to just get a date to homecoming with last year’s prom queen, and I should be grateful. The food was pretty good, and obviously the place is possible, but with the attitude, not so much.More

In comparison to the thin, runny fish-flavoured potato soup, with traces of clam bits in it, that is often purported as "Clam Chowder" in many places, Saltie's is the full deal with lots of real substance. Best is the Delux, a complete meal for most,...fried clams included! Even better with a side of butter-dripping Crusty Bread. A "sorry" to all those who work so hard at pushing Boston's Revolutionary history, but the Saltie Girl was the #1 highlight of our visit.More

We were really looking forward to our meal here, but from the moment we arrived we felt rushed and unwanted. Yes we had a booking at 9:15pm and were 10 mins late because of the heavy storm but we were rushed to order as soon...as we sat down because the kitchen was closing, followed by bins being loudly emptied, tables cleared and then finally two waiters sitting on their phones near us whilst they were on loud. It wasn’t an enjoyable experience at all. We were in and out in less than an hour and before we even left the building our waitress had run out the door. Obviously pushing us to leave so she could. If you can’t facilitate an enjoyable experience when dining at that time , you shouldn’t offer it.More

Dined here on 9/06 and got horrible food poisoning. I called the restaurant right away and they were completely unphased - when I asked to speak to a manager they told me there was no manager onsite - "really", I asked - ?what do you...do in case of emergency?" With further persistence she gave the phone to someone else who said the manager would be calling me - no one has called me and 24 hours have lapsed. I will never dine here again - clearly, the don't care about the safety of their product nor the care of their clients. Worst dining experience I have ever had!More
