Good dim sum place. Food came out very fast and was tasty. Reasonably priced. The waiter we got was efficient but not very friendly. Felt he just wanted us to eat and get out. May be he woke up on the wrong side that day

We decided to have Christmas dinner there, we wanted Peking duck. The place was very busy. When we began our order with the duck, we were abruptly told no duck of any kind. That was frustrating enough. We ordered steamed pork bao (no baked bao),...hot and sour soup, beef skewer appetizer, and tried to order seafood casserole. Additionally, we asked our server for a recommendation to replace the Peking duck, she pointed to a pork dish. The steamed bao bun was like glue, not soft, the pork was tasteless. The soup was similar, full of tofu and mushrooms, but tasteless. The pork that was recommended was belly with too much salt and fat, the sauce was salty, no umami. The beef was average at best. The seafood casserole never arrived because the server failed to write it down. Even the tea was tasteless as though the leaves had been used too many times. Parking can also be challenging, and the entrance is not handicap accessible.More
Our family of three give 3 enthusiastic thumbs up to Han Palace. All of dishes were delicious and the ambience was upscale and refined. We all commented how fortunate we are to have this restaurant in our area. We want to return soon for dim...sum.More
Great Chinese comfort food and dim sum fare in a fancier setting than most Chinese restaurants. Really enjoyed the seafood casserole and Chinese watercress. The food also came out in quick succession. Most of the dim sum we ordered hit the spot except for the...beef ribs. The waiters are very attentive. This restaurant is near to both Tyson’s mall and Tyson’s galleria but driving there is recommended. There is free onsite parking. I would look forward to coming back again, including trying their Peking duck.More
Beautiful ambience outside and inside with full bar. Some food was piping hot and fresh but dim sum average and not spectacular. I recommend this for getting together with friends and family. To be fair there was a huge line outside before the opening time...of 11:30 am with many Chinese and Asians so there must be some good food there. Price for items was reasonable for the serving size. The dim sum is ordered via a menu and they bring it out fairly quickly but some were room temperature . Recommend there congee served in a special bowl even though they served me the wrong congee topping. Great experience overall. Was seated at the bar but felt the whole experience would have been better in the dining room. I still have not found the high class dim sum in the dc area. I feel that dim sum is just a difficult cuisine to get just right fir the variety offered. I have eaten dim sum in many u. s. and overseas locations to compare.More
Great dim sum, good selection. No cart rolling around like I'm used to, it's order from a menu but they are quick. I was expecting a tasting menu, but it wasn't offered at this site.
A bit expensive but really great food. Great staff. Very busy at lunch time. Really good flavors. I've been here around 3pm (pretty slow) and lunch time (very busy)
Real homemade fresh dumplings Friendly staff and good atmosphere A variety of dishes are served as from meat vegetables, vegetarian and seafood Wide range non-alcoholic drinks or Tea. Peking duck and fresh lobster as piece la resistance
Would give 3.5 if possible. Surprised there aren't more reviews. As Bigwawao notes, it is extremely crowded on Sunday with serious waits, although a big place. in an office complex not near anything. Fortunately people can wait on the patio if weather cooperates, as host...stand was mobbed. You get a scrap of paper with a number on it. Pro: Bright, airy, modern space, upscale vibe. Unlike Bigwawao, I found the dim sum significantly better than average, and worth the somewhat higher prices than most places charge; very refined imo. Overall menu much smaller than most Chinese, which is not especially a problem, just noting. Con: Despite what I just said, we got a classic sticky rice in lotus leaf to go and it was spoiled; fermented somehow .Service was chaotic for everyone; our server apparently inexperienced and couldn't answer question about what was in a dish nor draw a beer from the taps in front of us. Finally, the menu prices on the menu posted outside do not correspond to the ones inside; they should take a moment to put up the current one, as price difference was not small.More
the food was decent cantonese. duck and fish were fresh. service was good. however, i give a poor rating as the unisex restroom was filthy. the toilet and floor were wet, and not with splashed water. i am always suspicious of a restaurant that can't...keep it's public areas clean. what does it's kitchen look like?More
We went for dinner with a couple who raved about this restaurant and from what we gathered, are regulars. We were immediately seated at a booth, and then, moved to a larger table...not sure why, but we soon found out. Our friends ordered for us...and we waited in anticipation of what was to come. We started with some wine and chamomile tea. The tea was served in a glass teapot and was very beautiful with flowers and other ingredients displayed. We had never seen anything like that before. Then came the Peking Duck, beautifully presented and very good. Then he cracked lobster over noodles...our host explained that the noodles absorbed the juices from the lobster and really gave the dish a lot of rich and deep flavors. Then a pork and seafood plate and broccoli with garlic. Truly an amazing feast. The staff was very attentive during dinner. Johnny, the main host at Han was always nearby ensuring everything was perfect. He was quite the host and was constantly walking through the room to make sure everything was right and the guests were happy. WE truly enjoyed his display of affection and paraded a young girl around the family table during their birthday dinner celebration. At the end of the feast, Johnny brought over a plate of steamed buns filled with pineapple (I think). We had never had those before and they were very tasty and light. Cannot wait to return as this was truly a wonder dining experience. Thank you Johnny!More
This review is for the Dimsum portion. We went there last month but the line and the wait precluded getting anything decent. So we left. I was intrigued and told my wife that when we go to VA again, I really would like to try...this restaurant. This time we went early (1115) for the 1130 a.m. opening. We were seated quick and the server got our orders quick. Most of the food came out quickly.More
Did not even have a chance to try it out. The restaurant was empty, we asked to be sit and dine at the patio and were refused to be seated outside during the times of COVID pandemic.
My last visited this same kind of restaurant back in childhood with my parent, seem most of Chinese owner forget and cut off $$$ on their beautiful, amazing, over several thousand years of culture. They cut down in decor and gave customers a plain red...paint with greasy food on table. Han palace gave me WOW about all detail since I stepped in, every details about how the owner wanted to presented, beside delicious food, up scale presentation in single plates. Only one things I missed in this restaurant is streaming cart fully loaded with dim-sum, but I could order fresh steam out from kitchen all day. Are you in mood for Chinese ?More
