We took an order of plain shrimp to go and put it on a beautiful salad when we arrived home. Perfectly cooked! We traded two extra shrimp for the rice and salad sides and really enjoyed it. Will return to try some more ways to enjoy their shrimp which is prepared fresh right beside the shrimp ponds. You can’t get it any fresher than this!

This was our lunch stop on the North Shore tour. I had a feeling it was going to be good be the simplicity of the menu, which I've added as a pic to this review. I got the butter garlic, my wife got the chicken (doesn't eat shrimp) and our friend got the spicy. We arrived at a food shack, awesome! Behind it was a shrimp farm so you know the food is fresh. The food came out and the shrimp were ridiculously tasty. The whole meal was, sides and all, absolutely one of the freshest seafood meals I've ever had. And the butter garlic seasoning was perfectly proportioned to boot. If you are a fan of shrimp, you MUST come here.

Umm...tonight we ate at Fumi’s for the the 4th time in our two weeks on the North Shore. It’s *that* good. We undertook a fairly comprehensive study of shrimp trucks in the area, so trust us this is definitely the best! Hot and Spicy is my favourite; my husband likes the original best. Our friend was raving about the coconut shrimp. Friendly people, you get your pop in cans from a fridge, and there’s a handy sink for washing hands before and after. You might want to apply some bug spray before you go, as the truck is near the shrimp farms and so there are inevitably a few mosquitos under the lights. Also, if the really good shrimp trucks, only Fumi’s is open til 7:30–which is great if you are not an early dinner sort.

We stopped at Fumi's while exploring the island on an unusually rainy Christmas Day. My husband had heard about the North Shore shrimp trucks and this one caught our eye. It was between meals, so we shared a single plate since we just had to try. We all agreed it was some of the most flavorful and succulent shrimp we'd ever had - even the rice was yummy! The kicker was that we learned that the storm had knocked out the restaurant's power - and it was still this good! If we're ever back on the island, we'll certainly return at mealtime and in better weather!

Stop on Nui Tours Island Circle Tour. Lunch was a good value, shrimp, rice, canned corn, pineapple for $11. Not a fan of farm raised shrimp but their garlic and spice on #4 was tasty. Large shaded dining area with picnic tables, restrooms, and proper wash up area.

The shrimp is massive for a very reasonable price, the food was ready as soon as we ordered and we were able to sit and eat. We ordered the lemon pepper and spicy garlic shrimp and both were delish! They came with scoops of rice and corn as well. Picnic tables are available for sitting outside and there was a guy playing guitar and singing while we were there. Very enjoyable experience and highly recommend this place!

We stopped at this shrimp truck stand because it wasn't as crowded as some others nearby. They are very efficient in taking orders and preparing it fresh as you wait at the picnic tables to call your number. We ordered the butter garlic shrimp & a side of local corn-on-the cob. IMO was the best; big juicy shrimp (prawn sized) and messy. There's an outdoor sink where you can wash up. Very satisfying and a great lunch stop.

We were able to eat at this famous shrimp truck in Kahuku because this is the lunch stop of our Oahu full day tour. The butter garlic shrimp is simply excellent. It simply does not come as fresh and juicy as the shrimps they have here. Be prepared to eat with your hands to remove the shell of the shrimp. The finger licking lunch will leave you wanting for more.

We visited Fumi’s as part of our circle island tour with excellent Oahu Nature Tours. This included a drink, main and desert. I had spicy garlic prawns and my wife had fried fish. Both seafood meals were very fresh. Meals came with corn, rice and pineapple. There are many shrimp trucks similar to this one in the area due the the farming of shrimp in the area. For desert we chose macadamia nut ice-cream.

Since the shrimp were very overcooked my last 2 visits to Giovanni's, I decided to give Fumi's a try. Well, they were overcooked too. My partner's were as well and we debated whether or not to bring them back to the window. We each tried a second one and it was better, but the third one was more overcooked than the first one. You don't get a dozen shrimp like at Giovanni's, more like 7, so we thought it would be bad manners to return the orders after eating almost half of the 7 shrimp. Another surprise was the corn, which was ICE cold. Sorry to say I won't be going back there. We heard a couple at the next table raving about the shrimp. Does the rest of the world LIKE them to be chewy and tasteless?

This is a review from a vegetarian perspective so take it with a grain of sea-salt if you're not a vegetarian. We were brought here as part of a tour and didn't have another option, so just posting this for anyone with similar diet concern that might be driving by. It's nice enough for a seafood place to offer a vegetarian options so we definitely appreciated that a noodle plate was offered. But it didn't have a lot of flavor and it was mostly just noodle without much else in terms of veggies or flavor. It came with a side of corn which also wasn't too sweet, and a wedge of pineapple which was just fine as far as pineapple goes. There are so many interesting flavors for their shrimp on the menu, it would have been cool to have one of those options to flavor the noodles, or maybe a vegetarian protein (tofu even) to give as the flavor they were going for, if not the actual shrimp. Our vegetarian dish was a bit bland. The fish eaters nearby seemed happy through.

We had heard discussions about which garlic shrimp from a truck stand was better, Fumi’s or Giovanni’s. So of course, we had to try both. Giovanni’s shrimp scampi was marinated in olive oil, garlic and lemon butter served with rice. The extra lemon butter tasted delicious with the rice. Fumi’s shrimp was as flavorful but tasted drier than Giovanni’s. Our family preferred Giovanni’s.

I visited this food truck on my way back from the north shore beaches to my hotel. During the day while going to the north shore we saw lots of tour busses and wanted to see what was the attraction. I got the spicy garlic shrimp and it was fantastic. They gave 8 of the biggest shrimps I got in any food trucks it was very delicious.

Were taken here for lunch as part of a Go Hawaii tour because it is apparently good for shrimp. Maybe it is but we don’t like shrimp. A chicken dish, Katsura I think, was an alternative. Tasteless and dry fried chicken strips served with totally bland, very claggy rice (stick your plastic fork in and the whole lot lifts up) with a little pot of unpleasant pink liquid. It is presented in a takeaway box and they charge $16 for this! At least the food is better than the toilet. Utterly disgusting.

The parking area off the street was packed, even had a couple of cattle wagons (tour buses), but when we went up to the line it was quick. Very efficient service. The menu is numbered, ex: #2 butter garlic shrimp, #7 chicken katsu, #8 spicy garlic shrimp. Put in your order at the counter, pay cash and food was handed to us quickly. Went over to the benches and saw that they were all taken with the exception of one which was occupied by just one person. Asked if we could share and she said of course. There is an outdoor sink to wash your hands before and after eating. All dishes came with two scoops of white rice, some corn and a piece of pineapple. The spicy garlic shrimp was perfect. Large juicy shrimp in a delicious sauce. Love that they poured that sauce all over the rice too. Will definitely go back again if I'm ever in Oahu.
