Hawaiian plate lunches Ginger fried chicken and shrimp. Fresh fish lunches between 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Fresh and frozen full service counter. We pride ourselves as being one of very few on Kauai serving fresh Hawaiian fish. Specialty Poke Bowl Stop. Poke bowls with self service poke bowl toppings bar.
This place doesn't have sit-down dining but for a grab and go lunch, it can't be beat. The fish was excellent - and they have all sorts of choices, poke, fish sandwiches, grilled fish. It was a little more expensive than most take out, but...More
Great fresh ahi poke to pick up for lunch or dinner back at the hotel. All the ahi was fresh caught, and although the yellow fin was shipped from Japan, it was excellent as well. Would eat here everyday if I had the chance!
Excellent poke bowls with a good variety of poke and toppings. They also have fresh fish. The servers were very rude to us tourists who didn’t know the protocol for ordering. They were very pleasant to the locals. Maybe now that I know how it...More
I always come to Fish Express when I visit Kauai. My favorite dish is ahi with wasabi butter. They also have bento boxes and the hamachi collar was quite good. We then go to Kalapaki Beach and have lunch while watching the surfers.
Holy moly people. My husband dragged me here for poke because "everyone on Trip Advisor raves about it". I like poke but not nearly as much as him, so I got a grilled fish sandwich. Y'all! It was an explosion of flavor in my mouth....More
Can not say enough about the poke and varieties, so fresh, great prices, we would pull in at 10 am order our poke bowls ice them down in the cooler and head out in the convertible exploring for the day. We couldn’t wait to eat...More
The menu was a little confusing. They have a fish sandwich and I tried to order it using ono but was told it was only with ahi. Nowhere on the menu did it say that, it just had fresh fish listed. I got the macadamia...More
I remember being intimidated by this place....having eaten at a similar place on the south end, I was familiar with the ordering process, but at The Fish Express, you better know the rules....be ready to order and then go outside and eat on your car...More

Yes! If you are planning to stop in at the Fish Express on your way from Lihue Airport to Princeville, you can stop at Lydgate Park to eat. This is a nice stop, in general, if you have enough time to revisit while on your trip. Great snorkeling here with unique marine life in an enclosed reef. There is also a Heiau (sacred Hawaiian site) in this park. Lydgate is about 10 minutes (approximately 5 miles) away and on your way to Princeville. There are plenty of covered picnic tables here where you can eat and park free of charge. There's also lots of open grass area for a blanket layout and beach time. Enjoy!
