We stopped here for a beer. The staff is friendly and the beer is good. We have a great time and would return.

Rude owner/bar tender. Presumably, he thinks he’s funny, but really is just an angry person who uses his job to take out his frustration on customers. You never know what kind of day a person is having is a motto I try to live by....In this case, something horrible must have happened to him. The attitude matches all the wall and door notifications. Read other reviews and responses from this and other websites before you patronize this business. There are many other options very close that offer a better atmosphere, employees, and frankly, better beer. Beer here is pretty pedestrian. 1 out of 2 beers I tried was ok. The other was not good. Serious aftertaste of bananas. Probably compromised batch. That’s not surprising when you see how ‘clean’ the brewery is. Just check out the bathrooms and check glassware for cleanliness before drinking.More
Comfortable artistic place with great beer served by nice people. They have a worst book club so I knew we were in the right place.
Beer only. Great beer. Small dive tap room. The do a 5 ounce pour which I appreciated. Nice bartenders. Would have been better with a large group.
I am not a beer fan and I even enjoyed some of the beers on the flights. The beer drinkers in the group LOVED it and spent quite a lot bringing a ton to bring home lol Fun spot and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Alright, so right up front, we didn't try their limited food appetizers. rather, this is strictly a beer and ambiance review. Regarding the beer, between the two of us we tried four of their brews, and they were all extremely good. We've been doing this...for a long time, and have sampled countless types of beers from a couple hundred different craft breweries. Anyone that has done the same knows that often the descriptions are more hype than fact; this is not the case at Redbeard Brewing. In our experience, the descriptions were very accurate, and if you taste something that you don't like, it's probably because you didn't read their description completely. Also, we found that they do a great series of "Drafts & Crafts", where they host various local artisans conducting classes in a variety of different artisan skills. We're looking forward to being able to participate on several of these on future visits to town.More
My wife and I were staying in Staunton for the night. When traveling, we enjoy visiting different breweries. The patio in the back was a nice place to sample a few of there beers. Next time I'm in town, I will spend more time here.
Nice sampling of beers, decent price. Super friendly staff. Nice and comfortable back area. If you like craft beers, don't miss this one.
My husband and I were walking around Staunton and just enjoying the over all Beauty of the city and we came across this little gem. We were looking for some local brews to take back to our hotel to enjoy a little later and this...place didn't dissappoint. The lady working the bar was super helpful and so friendly and welcoming. They have a great variety of beer and one for really every different type of beer lover. I myself like light and airy type of beer. We grabbed a grower and in the bag was some awesome goodies like some stickers (which I now have on the back of my jeep), and a beer tour guide. We didn't even know there was a thing. The brewery was very clean and very family friendly. We can't wait to go back again on our next visit.More
And they are expanding due to their popularity. Intimate atmosphere and a wide variety of beers on offer that are constantly changing. If you are lucky, one of the local food trucks will be parked out back and you can bring some nice take-away into...the building while you sample Redbeard's wares.More
Stopped in to visit friends, and to be introduced to this special tasting room. The motto says it all. Small samples of really big taste. We tried four, and all were exceptional. A very comfortable, and relaxing spot to enjoy some really good beer. Don't...miss it.More
Wonderful atmosphere, this is a mixture of the PNW craft beers with the young soul atmosphere of DC. The beer is well crafted in the aspect that it has a mixture of beer brewed for the masses and palette picky beer snobs (yes that is...me). This is a great place to gather with your friends, chat.... Play board games.... Spend some alone time.... Sit outside.... And observe the wonder mix of people.More
We tried the (left to right) Mycroft, Belgian Wit, Crossbite, and the Pale Lager! My family and I decided that of those, we like the Crossbite and Pale Lager! There were 9 beers on tap to choose from. No flight option, but you can order...as many 5oz. minis as you would like!!More
I've been to breweries all of the country and all over the world. I can hands down say this is the worst brewery and worst customer service I have ever experienced. The bartenders were hostile and cold from the moment I walked up to the...bar. Breweries should be a place of community and entrepreneurship, this place is the complete opposite. I called ahead to ask if they allow dogs inside or out, they said they don't allow dogs inside but they do outside. We got there and sat outside, I had a beer and they came out and said i had to leave because I had a dog... why would you tell me otherwise over the phone? When we were walking to our car out back they came out and yelled at us for leaving through the gate in their outdoor section rather than walking through the brewery. You told us you don't allow dogs, why would you want us to walk through your brewery with one? Staunton is a dying town, I wouldn't recommend visiting. Hokies-beware, do not visit this establishment. No Ut Prosim here.More
The Moriarty ale is great. The best you'll find in the town. The service...not so much. One of the barkeeps took my bottled water (I had it with me when I walked in) but did not take my beer order. A bar that leaves you...thirsty isn't a very good bar not matter how good the beer is.More
