Our first visit, love the history of the Mill, including its resident ghosts. The ambiance is great, the service friendly and attentive. The food is AMAZING! Everything was made to order, and inspired. We tried several of the ‘specials’ including the Lamb and Beef Stew...(being St Paddy’s weekend), so tender and great flavor you could taste every component from lamb to peas, so good. The crab dip was so flavorful with the fresh fried pita chips. The Duck Breast Gnocchi with Marsala mushroom fresh garlic sauce…the duck was spot on perfect, the ‘gnocchi’ were these amazing potato puff bombs of delicious goodness, accented with the best Marsala mushroom garlic sauce I’ve ever had. The Icelandic Cod and Clams with root vegetable in a seafood broth was so fresh and delicious that my daughter slurped up every last drop of broth. The Potato Crusted Rockfish was so delectable, fresh and crispy, my husband said it’s one of the best fish dishes he’s ever had. I highly recommend a visit, tiny parking lot is a bit of a challenge, but street parking available and a parking garage is only a block away very reasonable M-F or free Sat/Sun.More

Stopped on the for dinner this evening. This was the best meal experience we have had since covid, the service was fast, and the steak and crab cake was excellent the steak was cooked perfectly. The seafood pasta dish was also spectacular. The calamari was...tender, and all the sea food was cooked perfectly. If you are staying in the area, drop in and give them a try.More

This is a very popular restaurant that was recommended by the hotel we stayed at. We ate here on Feb. 22, 202 at 7:48 pm. I had the Mill Street burger which was filling. French fries were very good and not greasy. My wife had...the Tilapia Angelica which she liked. The server was good. Total cost with tip was $50. If we are in the area again. We may dine here again.More

Excellent service and food. We got the crab dip which was delicious and had plenty of pita chips. Then we split a whole rack of ribs and got extra sides. More than enough and absolutely delicious. I couldn’t eat all of mine. Would definitely return.

We have eaten at Mill Street twice now on our way to visit our son in NC and have enjoyed the experience both times. While the bar is small, it is cozy and comfortable with a very good selection of beers and spirits and a...smallish selection of wines. This past November my wife and I both had different pork dishes and both were delicious.More

We've been there before but it's changed. We got 2 dinners and appetizer. Oysters Rockefeller. Got them and ate one and I didn't seen to find or taste the oyster. She dug into hers and said there's no oyster in mine. I said I didn't...feel/taste one in mine. We looked at the 3rd one and it had a dime sized piece of oyster in it. My 2nd one same. Last of the 5 looked closer to normal but still very small. We called the waitress and she go the manager. Excuse was they prep really fast and sometimes they shuck the oyster out of the shell! Really how little attention or care one must be paying not to make sure the oyster was actually in the shell? She took it off the bill. Onto the meal. I got the $42 prime rib with baked potato. Asked do I want butter and sour cream? Well sure that's probably the standard toppings. Got the bill and the butter and sour cream were $1.50 each additional. I wondered if I got the fries was ketchup and salt extra too? Upcharge on gravy for mashed potatoes? Hmmmmmmmm...... butter and jelly extra on toast? Glass of wine $10. Glad they didn't charge me rental on the steak knife. It will be a long time, maybe never, before I go back. I know times are tough and things cost more but really? Give the customer what he's paying for and cut out the BS trying to Nickle Dime more on the meal.More

Visited on a Sunday, after a short wait we were seated. Service was prompt and friendly. I love the beer selections and the lengthy menu. The wife had seafood, I was happy with the potato skins. Love the peppermint ice cream taster at the end...of the meal. We are not in this area often, but would love to return to the Mill St Grill someday.More

Saturday night during Fall peak season. Worth the wait for sure. We walked around the town while waiting. Our table had the prime rib, filet, Greek salads. The prime rib was definitely delicious. The Greek Salad was huge for the 2 of us to share,...but more importantly it was absolutely delicious. We had a great server. She certainly was experienced and in looking around the large restaurant, it seemed like all the servers were moving around without any rush or panic. The place is definitely run well and the food is really really good.More

This is a very popular restaurant for good reason. Even on a Sunday night, there was a wait. The hotel clerk insisted this is where I would find a great meal, and it didn’t disappoint. The menu offerings have something for everyone. The meal was...very good and I would definitely return if in the area again.More

We had a dinner here on 9/2/23. I picked this place from the good reviews here. I'm glad we arrived early as this place gets packed. We arrived just before 5pm and there were already lots of people here. We were seated in a small...booth for 2. I enjoyed that as it was more private. We had a really good server too. I thought we would be rushed due to the crowds but it was nicely paced. Food was great. I had the cajun chicken and fettucine and my husband had the butternut squash ravioli with shrimp I believe along with a salad. We split a nice bottle of wine. We couldn't even finish our meals so we had no room for dessert. They brought us two small dishes of a peppermint ice cream. It's not likely I'll be around this area anytime in the future but I would recommend it!More

This restaurant was recommended by the staff of the hotel where we were staying, but I had also discovered it in my "research" of places to eat during our brief stay in Staunton. We knew that Mill Street Grill is a very popular restaurant.....and a...wait for a table isn't unusual as no reservations are accepted here. We were lucky, though, and were seated immediately after our 5:00 arrival. (The hotel staff member had recommended to get there as close as possible to their 4:00 opening time. You might want to check their daily operating schedule as we were told that the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays.) Donna was a wonderful server......answered all our questions, gave suggestions, and even shared some information about the town of Staunton, which was very helpful to us. I ordered the Chicken Fingers..........yes, this entree was listed on the adult menu!!!! Five pieces of the most tender, flavorful chicken tenders that I've ever had. They were so meaty that I couldn't finish all five of them. LOVED the Spicy Honey Mustard Sauce too! My spouse tried the Baby Back Ribs (half a rack) and couldn't say enough about how tender they were. No need for a knife as the meat fell off the bones! He enjoyed the Fried Green Tomatoes too. We highly recommend this restaurant! Just get there early and you shouldn't have to wait for a table.More
