Fantastic street tacos; super flavor! The atmosphere is downtown laid back and the staff is friendly. Their location is right next to the shops and well worth your stopping in after shopping. Mucho bueno

I popped into Baja Bean Co for a quick bite, and ordered a half order of the grande nachos for $7, and they were still too big for one person to eat, but very yummy!
Our innkeeper recommended this place, along with several others, as a good place for dinner. We were not disappointed. Our server went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed, including some great recommendations. We were a little taken aback at...the final bill - it looked too low. So we had a great meal and a good time.More
Stopped in for a margarita (not good) and an appetizer. The queso and chips were good. I'd probably visit a different restaurant before going back here.
We ate here our first night in Staunton. It was a little later so there were very few people. I ordered street tacos an my wife ordered fish tacos. She didn’t seem crazy about her order but said it was ok. I LOVE tacos but...I prefer authentic tacos. These were kind of Tex-Mex and not what I would consider true street tacos, especially with a flour tortilla, but they were definitely good and worth eating. The beans were good, the rice average. The complimentary chips were average but the salsa was really good, way above average. I would go back for sure.More
Had dinner here while in Staunton. The menu selection was great- the portions were very good and the food delicious. Great service. Would recommend.
Had dinner with my husband, inside dining. The seats/booths are solid wood, straight back and uncomfortable. Unfortunately the food was no better. Beans & rice tasted like they came straight from a can. Fish tacos were greasy, skimpy and reminded me of fish sticks. Chips...and salsa were lacking as well. Hard thick chips and an odd salsa mix. I hate to leave such a negative review but it’s an honest one.More
The food was good but not special. We enjoyed eating outside as the city had blocked off the entire street.
Don’t expect an inviting welcome. We arrived about 11:30pm on a Saturday night with about 6 people including a brand new (that night) married couple. No crazy bridal party/bridesmaids/rowdy groomsmen…just the married couple, their parents, and a few guests who wanted to enjoy a nightcap...after the wedding. One guest was attempting to dispose of a bottle (without littering) and asked the doorman if they had a trash bin. The doorman than said we were not allowed to enter. This was a terrible experience and not how we wanted to have the couple end their wedding night. This was an older wedding. The youngest guest of the group was 35 years old (not young and rowdy at all). We told the doorman that this was their wedding night and to please allow them to stay but they wouldn’t allow it. They said as we were leaving they don’t allow wedding parties. If you are with a wedding, don’t bother trying to go in. Unfortunately, for my first night in Staunton, this was not the welcome we were hoping for and we will not be back.More
Free appetizer on the house. As an appetizer we had ordered Queso with Jalapeños for $9.00. Tasty but we should have skipped on it as nearly nobody was able to finish their main course. TWO hard tacos ordered, one was already broken when delivered -...difficult to eat. Baja Bean & Cheddar Burrito as a combo - a lot of food to eat. Did not know that beans are not really beans but refried beans. Big Burrito was really a BIG Burrito. Enchiladas also a really big portion. I liked the fact that free refills were not automatically brought but the customer was asked first.More
Thanks for your time and kind words! Have a great day! You made ours!
Delicious! The menu was not your typical Mexican fare. It had unique combinations of ingredients and flavors. I loved the Street Tacos and my husband had the Chorizo Hash which was amazing. Great margaritas and good service too!
I love to hear all of this! Thank you!
This restaurant was on our to-do list when we visited Staunton. We used to visit the one in Charlottesville often before it closed. The food is just as good as we remembered. The waitress seemed a little spacy, but in a cute way. Later in...the evening, we stopped back for drinks, to an almost separate part of the restaurant which was more of a bar. This side was more lively and the waitress was very on top of things. Monday nights they have margarita specials and they were good.More
The servers who make it over to the bar are at the top of their game. That space is hard work. Thanks for being kind about the adorableness present in your first servers spacy side. Very kind and I'm sure I know who you mean....More
Always a great meal at BaJa Bean! And Matt our waiter was a lot of fun. Their salsa is some of the best ever. Save room for Gellato next door.
WE LOVE MATTY! Glad you did, too. Also, that gelato can't be beat which means we rarely sell fried ice cream anymore but we can live with that for great neighbors like Split Banana. Hope to see you soon!
Been coming here for years, always have great food and plenty of it... Beer always cold and the margaritas tasty... Had a new server Matt, that did a great job, kinda guy ya want to hang out with and we did for several hours... Thx...Matt, good luck back at JMU... Will see ya next time Jimmy, Billy and crew...More
Chips and salsa were not fresh. Ordered Nachos and there wasn't any authentic flavor to the ground beef. The guacamole was dark in color, not enough cheese and too many jalapeños. Probably to mask the fact that the dish was stall and overall boring. Do...not recommend. Maybe if your starving.More
I'm sorry you didn't love our salsa (& the chips seemed not fresh). We make both of those things (& the guacamole but I believe you may have to sell your soul for a perfect avocado these days) every day--usually twice/day. The nachos are huge...More
