Have not been here in years. Met friends for lunch. Service was just ok; food was mediocre at best. I had a burrito. Large chunks of cold chicken, little else. The presentation was unappetizing and I just pushed the food around and enjoyed my table...guests. At check out, I paid in cash. The cashier could not make change, and had to go next door to get some. Won't be visiting again.More

Food was good but 4 of us had lunch for $50.00. 2 of the meals were plan cheese quesadillas! Seems a bit extreme for what we had.

Other than a crying child in the next booth, my meal here was excellent! I think his parents sensed my irritation and moved across the room. The fajita taco salad with steak was generous and quite tasty. I really shouldn't have had the churro!

It is your average Mexican food joint. That being said, I had a good burrito. The service was ok, but we were the only people eating at late afternoon. Being in the area, I will eat there again!

The seating area was nondescript, the lighting was bad. The menu was abbreviated but the servers were good. The refried beans were halfway prepared. The tortillas were bland. The sauces were bland. I would not recommend this as a satisfactory Mexican restaurant.

There are not a lot of options on Montross on a Sunday afternoon. But El Mariachi was a nice surprise. I'm not a huge fan of Mexican and because it wasn't super spicy, I loved it. Good basic food and prices were good for what...we got. I will go back when we pass through again. Service was very friendly.More

Ate there just once several,years ago. Food was OK but not very Mexican-y. About how my Jewish mother might cook Mexican food. Come to think of it - the cook looked a bit like my mother.

What a great, no wait, easy on the wallet, favorite spot in Montross! Staff is always friendly and the food and libation reliably tasty!

This restaurant has little ambiance - often loud Spanish TV or radio playing - kids may be running around inside. The food is good - very basic - and the people friendly and cooperative. Kid friendly. They may not have some things like guacamole on...the day you go.More

This isn't your franchised restaurant. This place is owned and operated by a local Hispanic family. It's a clean place with friendly staff that knows how to prepare Mexican food. I've never had anything but a good meal there and the price is quite reasonable....You will see lots of Hispanic families in there on some nights.....and that's a good sign. Give this place a try. You'll be glad you did.More
