Great craft brewery! Really enjoyed the Shanty with their own ginger ale. Bar food is pretty good. Found out they've always got something going on. We showed up on a Thursday evening and got to play trivia. Really inviting place, great staff and fantastic craft...beerMore

I’ve been to breweries in 6 states, in reality the Montross Brewery is one of the most inviting and familiar places- regardless of if you’ve been there before or not. It feels familiar as soon as you walk through the door. Food, drinks, etc. It’s...definitely worth a stop.More

Great pizza and beer. The menu has been expanded with pizza options, wings and paninis. I’ve enjoyed all of the menu items that we’ve been served. The brewery pizzeria is a hidden gem to grab a bite to eat while grabbing a cold beer.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch. However, we did try a beer off the menu which actually was tasty, though close to $14 for 2 glasses of beer. However, the issue which contributed to this rating were the paninis from the attached restaurant....We ordered the Pesto Turkey and the Italian melt, which were accompanied with a miniature bag of chips for $15 each. These tiny sandwiches were missing the pesto and the Italian was absent of balsamic glaze, had little meat, etc, Basically, both were tasteless and a terrible value and especially disappointing for over $30 plus. Needless to state we won't be back.More

Hi Gman0927, We want you to know that the Bistro is a separate business--Next Door Bistro--with it's own staff separate from the brewery. Regardless, It sounds liken you totally did not get the value that the bistro wants each customer to get. The bistro has...More

We stopped for lunch after seeing the beer garden atmosphere while driving by. A great casual spot for eating and grabbing a beer. It has the feel of a German beer garden with long tables outside among tall shade trees. Limited, but tasty menu offerings.

Here with friends for a drink and pizza. Many choices of craft beer to choose from. NO information available to determine what beer was what type/taste!! For the craft beer beginner (ME!!!), it was difficult to choose which beers to sample!! After a long involved...talk w/ the barkeep, we chose our 6 samples ($18 for a 6 pc, 6oz sample flight - $18 for 36 ozs of beer!?!?!?...$6 a can?) Well we got our flights. A few tasted the same to our beginner palate. One we liked. One we couldn't drink. JUST our tastes!!! We suggested to the barkeep he develop a written menu with descriptions of each flavor to help beginners - he agreed. Will they do it!?!?!? After ordering our beer flights, we wanted to order pizza and was told - No pizza today! We went to the BBQ place just up the road for dinner after our tasting. Probably won't come back due to prices.More

The beer flight was excellent and guests went back for their favorite. This weekend they had pizza, shrimp and crabs available. Friendly and fast service with good beer. Plenty of outdoor seating with a good breeze. Decide for yourself about the masks as many guests...weren't wearing masks.More

For generations, Montross has been famous for its Northern Neck Ginger Ale. Now it has a brewery making very good craft beers, as well as a cane sugar ginger ale. Although sweeter than its spicy forebear, it blends well with Montross Brewery’s Trappist-style ale as...a shandy. The brewery also offers excellent thin crust pizzas, a perfect complement to the beer selection. My wife and I will be adding Montross Brewery to our list of regular Northern Neck stops.More

I was drawn to the brewery for two reasons - LOVE artwork and BEER! My cousin owns a brewery in our hometown of Manassas so wherever we go, we swap stickers with breweries in that area. Cool thing about Montross Brewery is that they also...brew ginger ale. Matt and Mark were great. Beer was tasty. My favorite was the Blonde. Small inside but nice outdoor set-up. Hope to return in the fall.More

Looking for a great selection of craft beers, you are in the right place. They have rotating taps of everything from an IPA to a Belgian Double or Triple, to a Stout. They also have a homemade Ginger Ale. On the other end of the...building is a pizza parlor with soft drinks and potato chips. Montross Brewery has picnic tables and tables inside and outside along the front porch to enjoy it all.More
