The Rocking V was really rocking when we stopped on 12/30 but the man at the desk was accommodating, took our number & let us know when a table was ready. Not your typical burgers & fries. Great dishes, soups, salads, mac & cheese. Their foccacia bread with a whipped balsamic dip is yummy. Excellent friendly service.

Our tour guide, Kirk, from Kanab Tour Company recommended we come to this spot for a late lunch as we asked where we could get a good steak. It did not disappoint. We had the Seafood Louie salad, fresh tomato bisque and the Ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes and mushrooms. The food was fresh and delicious. We were so full yet wanted to try desert so got the flourless chocolate cake to go. Our server packed it up nicely ensuring the whipped cream and sauces were all in separate containers. It was decadent and delicious when we ate it later in the evening. We would've eaten here multiple times if we had stayed in town longer. Will be back again!

This place has been recommended to us in our hotel. We were not sure about going to have dinner in a cafe first, but we were delighted at the end.
We were seated promptly and given menu with options for everyone. Even the kids menu sounded delicious.
We have ordered tomato soup to share and bison steak. The tomato soup tasted like home made from fresh tomatoes. Very tasty.
The bison steak was served wrapped in bacon and with potato mash. If you order bison steak, definitely go for medium rare as the meat will stay juicy.
Unfortunately we didn’t try any deserts as we simply didn’t have any more space left in our bellies. But I promised myself, that next time in Kanab, I’ll definitely stop by and have their créme brûlée!
The service was quick, attentive and very friendly. And Victor, the owner, stopped by by every table making sure his guests were having a good time. This is how it should be.

We went to Rocking V cafe after reading all the amazing reviews. I had the enchilada and my husband had the chicken dish. It was good. As we were going to stay little away from the town we took some food to go. We ordered the Utah Beehive and bread pudding to go. The Utah Beehive was a huge disappointment. The portion size was more of an appetizer then entree. It was maybe 3/4 cup cooked quinoa and a yellow pepper that was less than half filled with some beans, edamame and some tiny pieces of tofu. Taste wise it was OK but they charged 18$ for it which is way too steep for the amount of food they gave. I get it - it’s a tourist destination and prices are high but this was by far the most expensive food to cost ratio I have experienced on this trip and all others.
The bread pudding was great and I also give them points for trying their best to stay hygienic and sticking to COVID precautions.

Our first night of dining at this restaurant was picture perfect. The food, service, observance of COVID protocols were all fantastic. We all had different cocktails and food - everything was delicious. So much so, that we went back. Second time the service was really, really slow and the kitchen lost our order. These things happen at even the best restaurants. When the problem was brought to the owner's attention, he comped our cocktails and salads; the waitperson refused a tip. Class Act. Mistakes happen, and the establishment stepped up to make it right. I will go back.

One of the few good options in town, I’ve been at this restaurant at least 5 times. It’s always been busy and seems a bit rushed as if the goal is to turn tables as quickly as possible. The place is not cheap so it’s not what I would call a great value. I was traveling alone and had a reservation for 6pm and the place was already busy. No problem getting seated right away, and the place is not quiet by any means. I ordered a Tito’s dirty martini which was delivered in the smallest martini glass I’ve ever seen except for a child’s play set. I commented to the server about the teeny weeny martini with three olives and she says it’s more garnish then booze. Whoopie! I then ordered a glass of red wine (not many options for wine by the glass) for $9, and that too was what I would call a short pour. For my main I ordered the bison steak, which for $48 should have been fabulous and it was. The steak was prepared just right and was tender and flavorful. For that price is should have been. It was served with a small dollop of potatoes and two skimpy broccoli pieces. The presentation was bland and didn’t compliment the steak. Sort of hit or miss with this place, wish there were more options in town.

We ate here twice on the same day for lunch and dinner. Lunch is take out only (can sit on patio) dinner is dine in only. They are extremely short staffed so please be patient. The service is wonderful, if you’re lucky you’ll get Melanie as your server. She is so funny and has great stories and will answer any of your questions about kanab. For lunch I had a chicken salad for dinner I hat the jalapeño lime chicken . Both are GF and the reason we chose to eat there. Such a cute quirky place, do t miss the amazing art upstairs.

What a fantastic place. The food here was delicious, fresh, and beautiful. The menu has something for everybody, and between burger and rib dinners at pubs along the Utah-Arizona border, it was so nice to fill up on an exquisite vegan dish.(if you are vegan or not, I recommend the Beehive!) I know my friends were equally impressed by the fully loaded hamburgers, and Rocking V provided a tasty gluten-free bun option for one. As a lover of microbrews, I was also impressed by the extensive list of diverse beer from Epic Brewing (one of my favorites) and several Utah breweries. Added bonus, if you get the opportunity to interact with the owner Victor. He is fun and welcoming, an excellent host. The servers were great too. All around good experience.

For appetizer we had the red hummus which was good, I had the mushroom madness burger also good. My wife had the chicken salad it was also good. The odd thing was the $5.25 strawberry lemonade, which wasn't fresh strawberries just the flavoring. The lady said there wasn't any free refills of it, which is odd but she brought us one and then charged us for it. If it was out of this world lemonade that just made your toes curl when you drank it. That would have been one thing, but it wasn't that good.

Our first stop in our Kanab weeklong stay and it was very nice. A bit expensive for the takeout experience, seems like atmosphere inside would make the $ more worthwhile but we aren’t mentally/physically ready for in person experiences yet. No complaints at all. I love a well seasoned med rare burger and no disappointment here! Great quesadilla too.

We decided to stop in Kanab for lunch before making our way up to coral pink Sand dunes state park. With the pandemic you’re never really sure what you’re going to experience. We felt totally safe sitting outside and the wait staff was extremely careful and considerate. My wife had macaroni and cheese with lovely bits of ham and I had a delicious tortilla like lasagna. Quite a welcome relief from camp food! I would definitely recommend this place to stop for a delicious meal on your way to other Destinations in southern Utah.

Delicious food. Friendly service. Great vegan/vegetarian options. Ed & Red Hummus was especially good!
Though we personally had good service, we did observe a few other tables waiting an exceptionally long time for their food. The kitchen seemed a bit overwhelmed. Without this issue, it would have received a 5-star review. Hopefully, the service was an aberration the day we visited.

On the way to Salt Lake City we stayed the night in this little town and ate here. Restaurant listed that they closed at 10 (we called about 9:30 and what we ordered took about 40 minutes to prepare) but the guy who answered the phone told us not to worry they'd accommodate us. Prior to getting to the restaurant I was impressed with the gentleman who took my order. I was given great recommendations and descriptions of the items on the menu. My husband had the pork chops which were amazing and I had the pasta which was phenomenal! Pasta was homemade and vegetables were fresh! If I am ever back that way I know exactly where i'll be dining!

The hostess, Sharon, is the sweetest lady you will ever meet! Great first impression! The atmosphere is wonderful and allows you to eat inside or outside. The owner came to our table to check on us, and our server was very attentive. My husband and I got the South by Southwest salad, and it was huge, hearty, and delicious! One of our sons got the lasagna and said it was divine, and our other son had a chicken quesadilla which he said was delicious! They have great craft beers, and we would highly recommend this great local establishment.

Spent a night in Kanab on my way between Zion and Grand Canyon and found this place very welcoming. It was a little late and the place was somewhat quiet but they seemed more than happy to help fill the void in my stomach....and boy did they fill it. I couldn’t make my mind up what to order so I asked the waitress to suggest something and I ended up with Homer’s Dream Pork Chop. After a day of hiking and in Zion and in preparation for a descent into Grand Canyon to spend the night at Phantom Ranch I was looking to fill up the ‘tank’ and quite honestly I gave it my best shot but still came up short and had to leave some on my plate. It was not only delicious but also enormous and I would definitely return next time I’m passing through. The place is slightly ‘eclectic’ but still very welcoming and the staff are wonderful.
