I was the first customer in for lunch in the middle of the week at 11am. The store owner, Dane, was there and was eager to show me the selection of pizzas that were available. The smells of the fresh pizzas were tantalizing. The cooks...were working hastily preparing for the lunch rush. I ordered a Veggie Delight Stromboli.While waiting for my food I attempted to fill my drink cup. The ice was not yet prepared in the machine. Dane was prompt at helping me. When I finally got my drink (Pepsi products), my soda was very flat and thick and syrupy from the machine. I was told the Stromboli would be ready quick and quick it was. It was served to me on an aluminum pizza pie pan, piping hot with a side cup of marinara sauce. The size was large. Well worth the value. The crust was light and flaky. The Stromboli was full of fresh veggies that maintained their crisp. The marinara sauce was not extraordinary. The place filled up pretty quickly after I came. The food was good but what really stands out is the owner's passion for the place. He stayed in the dining area the entire time I was there and mingled with customers as if we were guests in his home. He was attentive and quick to serve the needs of his customers. There is Pizza and there is PIZZA. And who doesn't like pizza? In January 2014, Stone Oven opened the doors.My wife and I went there to try it, and we were wowed! The best way I can put it is to say that their pizza...brought me back to my teenage years. They hand toss the fresh dough, make their own sauce, and use the freshest toppings. Then it's into she stone oven. The end result is amazing. We're not talking your mega-chain place pizza. This is the real deal. I went here while visiting Wichita Falls. My friend chose this place after reading reviews on google where it was rated as one of the best pizza places in wichita falls. When we walked in we were ignored by the staff and it is unclear...what you are supposed to do with yourself. There is no wait service, you place your order at the counter. It took a long time for the pizza to come out and it wasn't even very good. I think I could make a better pizza myself at home. I ordered chicken on my pizza and it came out of a Tyson bag in the freezer. It also appeared that you aren't allowed to bring in food or drinks from any other place. There was a collection of drink cups from other restaurants on the counter. The only employees were three young teenagers. I'd look somewhere else before e as ting here again.More
