We had the lobster bisque and the small cold seafood tower with two Crown on ice. Crown was fine. Lobster bisque had very little lobster but good flavor. Seafood tower was a joke! Go with the pork chop instead.

Both my kids came back from colleges for the spring break and we decided to go to Perry's as it is close to us. We ordered seafood stuffed mushroom, stone fried chicken, onion soup, and we tried wagyu beef. Super good, all dishes taste great,...esp. the beef. The service is good. My kids are very happy and we will sure come back to try other dishes. LillianMore

We came here on a Friday for lunch during the Christmas holidays so we knew it would be busy and it was. We had reservations but still had to wait a bit. Some of this was due to not enough waitstaff due to Covid. While...we did have to wait for everything the pork chop and other food was delicious as well as the white bean pork chili. We were with family so just enjoyed being with them.More

Let me start with this. Shame on Perry's. It's the day before Thanksgiving and I spent 4 hours trying to order on meal to be picked up. So here's the back story. My folks are in their mid 80's. They planned to travel to Austin...to have Thanksgiving Dinner with my Sister but my mother had a fall earlier this week (Week of Thanks Giving) and she broke her jaw. Being that she is pretty beat up and sore, they made the last minute decision not to travel. Ok, that's the back story. Being that I know my Dad loves Thanksgiving and they are not going to be able to cook a T'day meal for themselves, I look to see if there might be someplace I can order a dinner from that he can go pick up. And blessed be... Perry's is offering take out single meals on Thanksgiving Day. Thank the lord and pass the green beans. So I go online, order my Dad a single meal and order my Mom a Lobster Bisque. As I'm finalizing it, I get an error message telling me that I should call the restaurant to order because there was a "communications error" with that store. I try again. Same result. I try again. Same result. So, I call the restaurant (I live in Washington DC, they live in Sugar Land.) The young woman tells me I'll need to speak to a manager and she puts me on hold. Someone answers, asks me to hang on for a minute, then hangs up on me. Lovely. But I figure it must be busy so no big deal. Accidents happen. I call back and get some guy and I explain what's going on and he tells me it's probably that the time slot I chose to pick-up the meal was full so I should try another time. Ok. I tried 10 other time slots (this is to pick up a meal) and got the same error message. I tried it from another browser and from two other devices, all with the same result. ERROR. So I call back and ask for a Manager... enter Travis. I explain the issue and he's all "Oh no, well we need to take care of this. Family first! What would you like?" So I tell him what I'd l want to order and he asks for a pick up time, I give it to him. Thinking the next step was him asking for my CC, I had it in my hand and ready. No, he says, "Ok, just let me to talk to my GM." Ooooooo K. So I wait and wait and wait. Travis returns on the line and tells me that they are just too busy for him to discuss it with his GM but if I gave him my number, he'd call me back. So I give Travis my number. In the mean-time, I go and try to become a "member" of his garbage restaurant (I put that in for effect because it just happened and it's fresh) and I get the same error message. Eureka! It's not a time issue, it's their crappy server! So I call Travis back. Wait.. wait... wait. He gets on the line and I explain their server issue. He agrees and says another customer had just come in and was having the same issue. I asked if I could go ahead and order and he said he still needed to speak to his GM but since it's a server issue he was certain they'd give him to ok to take CC over the phone. He added that he went to the Take Out area and talked to them and though they hadn't made "any exceptions" today in regard to this "T'Day pick up plates", due to my circumstances he was just certain his GM would make the exception. So here come the fun part, I get to call my folks to tell them I might not be able to make this happen because Perry's employees and Managers are lazy. I had to call them before I ordered to make sure my Dad could leave my mother unattended while he picked up the meal. My mother literally got choked up when she heard she might be getting a little lobster bisque on Thanksgiving with her BROKEN JAW. As I'm talking to them. I get another call, it's Travis! My brother from another Mother! I answer with "Give me the good news, Travis." "Uhhhh.. yes Sir. I appears that we might have an issue with our website and I'm going to be writing an email to our IT department to see if they can correct the issue." (Day before Thanksgiving... good luck with that). So I say ok, let's get you my credit card number so we can get this transaction done! You all know where this is going. He regrets to inform me that they will not grant me the exception and will not take my CC over the phone. He nervously tries to justify this garbage as I sit here FUMING. The fact was, Perry's refused to make an exception because if they did it for me, they'd have to do it for everyone. WHICH THEY SHOULD HAVE BECAUSE THEIR WEBSITE WAS DOWN. Bottom line, Perry's Managers were probably relieved to learn that Thanksgiving might not be as busy as they though because, fortunately, their server crashed and rather than take orders over the phone... they said "f the customers". So to YOU Perry's I say up your noses with many rubber hoses. You suck. What I needed was simple and you just couldn't be bothered. My folks EAT at your crumby restaurant, they've lived in Sugar Land for like 40 years. I'm telling them and everyone else in the area. You say "f" me? I say "f" you. Their own website said, "There's an error, please call the restaurant (number provided) to order.More

Father's Day at Perry's. Wanted to treat my husband to their famous pork chop. He enjoyed it, but my dinner was not served when his dinner was served. I can't imagine a scenario in which this is acceptable. I encouraged him to eat before his...food got cold and eventually my soup arrived. It was the wrong soup. The waiter immediately recognized his mistake and returned it to the kitchen to get the soup I had ordered. You would think this would be a 5-minute thing. Instead, my husband finished his entire meal before my soup arrived. It was supposed to be leek and potato soup, but neither one of those vegetables made an appearance in this soup. It was basically a small cup of melted butter, or at least that's what it tasted like. Perry's used to be a high-end but well worth it restaurant. Now it's just high-end. It's safe to say I won't give it another chance.More

I made a reservation on Open Table and it asked me if I wanted inside or outside and thinking it was a nice 75 degree night I chose outside. PLEASE do not make this mistake!! We arrived and were seated right away at our reserved...table on the outside patio. The outside patio is literally tall gray concrete walls, a dirty concrete floor, and bent unstable cheap metal chairs/tables. There was even some storage stacked up along the wall and that's it. You could barely hear yourself talk for the interstate traffic right outside the gloomy concrete wall. You can't see out and inside you are looking at nasty concrete and metal tables, that's it. We refused to eat out there, and no one else was either, it was empty out there and now I know why. We asked to move inside and they said no it was completely booked so we left.More

On May 9,2021 , Mother’s Day, I ordered a meal online for my mother. The ordering was easy but the day was ruined as we never received the meal. When we went to pick up our meal at the scheduled time, we were told that...they were running behind and there would be a two hour delay. We went back 2 hours later and was told that there would be another 1 hour delay. We went back and the meal still wasn’t ready and we were told to come back later. I gave up and attempted to cancel the order. This was difficult to do also. I called the restaurant and spoke with 2-3 different people who continued to put me on hold to speak with a manager. Of course, the manager never came to the phone. They took my information and said that I would receive a call back. No call was received. When I called to request a refund the next day, I was told that I would receive a call from the general manager. Four days after, this still has not occurred. I’m very disappointed in the customer service.More

From Great to Horrible! This place was our monthly go to ever since the initial opening. The Perry’s are such nice people and surprised there is not more attention to this Sugar Land location. Our last 3 experiences within the year have been terrible so...needless to say, last night’s family dinner of 5 for Mother’s Day will be our last. The 2 star is credit for the calamari, complimentary bread and always amazing brussel sprouts. The remainder sucked - pork chop bites dry and tough, crab cakes were gaggy. Dinner - all 3 steaks overcooked, strips fatty, tough and flavorless, hubby’s rib eye good but not great. Potatoes hospital tasting, cold and last but not least, our 3 bananas foster were liquidated due to the cook placing them on the burner individually as he poured the sauce. We asked too why he didn’t use all the ingredients of brown sugar, and he said it was just easier to do one! So 500 dollars later, only 2 bottles of house wine - a complete waste and disappointment. Longhorn would have been better quality for a fourth of the cost. You guys better step it up or another restaurant to close! In search of a new favorite steakhouse !More

Sadly, this Perry's has gone downhill. It used to be my family's favorite restaurant so when my husband and I were fully vaccinated, we selected Perry's as our first time out in over a year. Expecting the same great food and service as before, I...was very surprised at the poor food and service we received. I ordered Filet Mignon with Half lb King Crap Legs. The rest of our party of 5 ordered a variety of steaks. Here are a few of the problems we ran into. 1. My daughter ordered Blackened & Bleu Filet Mignon, her favorite. Unfortunately, the filet she received had more pepper than usual, causing the pepper to overwhelm the flavor of the filet. Her fiancé's steak, also Blackened & Bleu, didn't have so much pepper. So she sent her steak back, asking for less pepper. Her replacement steak did not arrive, even after inquiring about it more than once. When it still had not arrived after we had all finished our meals and were ordering desserts, she eventually requested her Filet Mignon to go. It's sad that she couldn't even eat dinner with us and would have to microwave her Filet Mignon at home just to eat it. 2. She had also ordered the Loaded Whipped Potatoes, but received a baked potato instead. She accepted it without mentioning it to the waiter. 3. Our waiter seemed confused most of the time (not due to language barriers). When we asked questions, he often frowned and said he would have to ask about it. For example, In the past I would get the One lb King Crab Legs as a full meal – as recommended by prior waiters at that same Perry's. However, when I asked about it last night, our waiter frowned, seemed confused, and said he'd have to ask about it. The second time it was brought up, our waiter seemed so confused that I eventually gave up and followed the menu, ordering Half lb King Crab Legs with a Filet Mignon. 4. When my meal was served, the King Crab Legs were served without drawn butter or any butter at all. I have been ordering king crab legs at many different restaurants for over 40 years – including that exact Perry's location – and this was the first time it was served without butter. When I asked the waiter for the butter, he kept sending out wrong butters. I couldn't remember the name of the butter so I finally had to look up "butter for crab legs" on my phone. The results listed Drawn Butter which I remembered being the right name. When I told the waiter the name of the butter was Drawn Butter, he didn't know what it was. So I showed him my phone. Then he came back with plain drawn butter (it had no spices whatsoever). I finally took it home and ate it with regular melted butter. Yuck. 5. I ordered a baked potato with my meal which is about as basic as it gets. I requested the toppings on the side so I could mix the butter into the potato before adding the toppings. My order was correct, but the potato was so cold that the butter could not melt when mixed in. With all the other problems, I chose to not mention it to the waiter. In the end, our bill was $600 and we gave a standard 15% tip of $90 which is normally what we pay at Perry's. But our meal and service was worse than what I'd expect of an inexpensive restaurant. I did not complain at the time because it would have ruined our first time out in over a year and because my daughter is extremely sensitive to complains so I chose to keep quiet at the time. Nevertheless, I was very disappointed and will go to another restaurant in the future. I can only hope that the problems are only temporarily due to setbacks during the covid pandemic. Whatever the reason, it ruined our first outing and family get-together after a year long's wait, and I won't chance it again for a long time. The whole thing is just sad.More

I went to Perry's in Sugarland for my birthday and although I have eaten there a few times before, it was by way of takeout. I wanted to have the in-dining experience for my 59th birthday. So I have to say it was a nice...atmosphere, very beautiful inside, and we were warmly greeted. The first item on the menu ordered were the crab cakes, and I have to say not only were they good value, nearly all crab! Many restaurants like to save money by filling the cake with cheaper stuff. The sauce they created was beautiful, but it was kind of skimpy, it needed some more. We ordered Sea Bass which I heard was great as I didn't actually taste it, and the NY Strip Prime cut according to the menu. It was OK, I definitely have had better and I question if this was a truly a prime cut, albeit it was perfectly cooked. We ordered two sides, 1) Mushroom Truffle Cawley Flower Risotto, and 2) whipped potatoes with roasted garlic on top. Big thumbs down on the Risotto, whoever created that dish needs to go back to culinary school, I can't emphasize this more that it truly sucked! I love risotto, didn't like this at all! The whipped potatoes were good, not great. I was offered the bday desert tray that they give for free, funny thing is I wasn't offered a dessert choice, I figured whatever they did was going to be good. The tray he brought had a lit candle and three deserts; a rice crispy chocolate chunk ???? then a really mediocre crème brulee, and then some sour dollop that was unrecognizable and terrible, didn't finish it. Frankly I would have rather paid for a good dessert, what they served as a desert tray for my birthday sucked! I have had Perry's desserts on take out before and was impressed, so this was disappointing. Finally, and I can't attribute this to any particular food I ate at Perry's', I woke up at 3 in the morning and had a queasy stomach, and I actually threw up up my food! That hasn't happened in a long time! Big Fail, when I turn 60 next year, my celebration will NOT be at Perry, and it's caused me to branch out and look for a better place. Overrated!More
