For just a few steps from the Westin or Marriott you can go and get a great meal for more than 1/2 the price of a hotel restaurant. The breakfast very good, fresh eggs and cooked to order, very nice people running the place. We...went here 3x and it was fabulous. We saved a lot and the food was so much better. Bonus: they are open on Saturday when most everything else is closed.More

They really do make a solid breakfast and it is very reasonably priced! I wish I had known about it sooner as I would have dined there every morning!

We eat at Cliff's every time we travel to Houston. We've had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. The people working there now recognize us when we come in every 6 months during our Medical trips! The burgers are...quite tasty!More

It wasn't horrible since the price is pretty cheap. They have a pretty good selection. I think it's a one time deal for me to order at this place. They do have burgers, salads, soups and breakfast.

In the area there are not many places to go for a quick lunch if you are hosted in one of the nearby hotels. I found the place just by chance and there was nobody there (I admit I didn't come in an usual hour...but you know how your meals are with a jet lag). I was a bit concern for being the only guy eating there .... but I've got a superb burger really cheap. I ordered a Murphy Burger and I loved it. The meat was tender a bit overcooked for me (I don't blame them because I didn't asked for the medium-rare that I use to), but even though the taste was really good. The best this quality-price ratio, worth trying ... later I knew that this was listed as one of the top 10 burger restaurants in Houston.More

If you find yourself in the Medical Center area, you must visit Cliffs Grill. All the food we ate was cooked to perfection. The grilled chicken sandwich, the spicy chicken sandwich, salads & more soothed our appetites. You can order online & it says they...deliver. Also, they are open on Saturday. We couldn’t stop eating the hand cut fries. While my husband was in the hospital, I ate here twice. Wish I had found the restaurant sooner than I did. It was a much-needed refreshing change from cafeteria food.More

This is sort of a hidden gem as there seems to be a lot of construction around it that almost hides it. We recently ate here for dinner but it was toward closing hours so it was not busy. We know from a previous trip...that the place gets packed during breakfast/lunch hours. The food is great and a good value - especially if you go for breakfast! Chicken fried steak sandwich was excellent and the fries were hot and crispy. We would definitely eat here again!More

This little restaurant is right by the Baylor clinic on Main Street, Medical Center. Typically, restaurants found in this area tend to be mediocre and expensive. I ordered the Mediterranean platter and a side of grilled chicken pieces, which was tasty. The rest: the hummus...was was watery and the tahini barely had flavor. The presentation was a bit tired.More

Great homemade soups and sandwitches and worth a lot more than you pay. You know a place is good when you see lots of locals eating there. I had a veggie soup which was full of lots of different veggies and at the sugestion of...another dinner I had the turkey burger. It was the best, freshly made turkey burger I ever had. It was not one of those hockey pucks other places serve. The salads looks big and fresh. you will be hard pressed to pay more than $10 for a great meal. Enjoy!More

We were staying in the medical center for a class for work and wanted to grab dinner close to the hotel and this was in walking distance. I had a chicken sandwich- large portion and it was served with plenty of fries. They did take...a little longer than I would have thought to prepare- but I also appreciate that I like my chicken cooked thoroughly.More

I was staying overnight for a visit with a physician on Tuesday, September 11rh. I arrived in the area around 3PM and walked about a block and smelled a delicious aroma coming from what appeared to be a section of fast food places. Went in...looked at the menu and was very pleased to see such moderate prices in what one would expect high prices. I like hamburgers but not the kind you get in some fast food places. My friend and myself both ordered the Southwest Burger and an order of fries. The young lady who took the order was very pleasant and assured us our order would be delivered to our table. After a reasonable time she appeared with two very large hamburgers that were delicious. There was a 1/3 lb. meat patty that was thoroughly cooked but also tender and juicy. The bun was stuffed with pepper jack cheese, avocados, lettuce, and grilled onions. One thing that immediately impressed me was that it wasn't over salted but only mildly seasoned. The order of fries turned out to be just as good, they appeared to be fresh sliced and were served crispy, hot, and tender. As good as it was it was more than I could eat but my friend gladly finished it for me saying it would be a shame to waste such a good hamburger. Leaving pleasantly full, we conducted some business in downtown Houston and several hours later found ourselves back in the area heading for our hotel. Wanting something to take along for a light evening meal we again passed Cliff's. Neither of us wanted another hamburger but decided to go in and ake another look at the menu. The result was that we ordered an Itanian Sub which was large enough for two. Next to the check out counter there was a display of small pecan pies. Again, the price was very reasonable and the same young lady was there and greeted us like old friends. At the hotel we unwraped the sub and it was full of delicious cold cuts, with lettuce, tomatoes and Italian dressing. The pecan pie was also very tasty. For value, taste, and convenience visiting Cliff's in the Texas Medical Center was an inexpensive and very tasty experience. If I'm in the area again there are several other hamburger combination I'd like to try as long as those delicious grilled onions are on them.More

Burger had no special flavor at all. I am starting to question the meat since it had no flavor at all! *Sweet potato fries are the best I’ve ever had, but small portion. Terribly busy at lunch time with hospital employees.

Cliffs is an odd mix. The country music was on, three gigantic Marilyn Monroe’s gaze at the tables, concrete floor, a bit shabby but my “spicy chicken” was tasty. They sell a lot if burgers and sandwiches. Not bad for a quick lunch break from...work.More
