What great food! Richard, our server was awesome. I had the octopus appetizer and the Sicilian Eggplant tower. So good. Loved the Mai Tai. Husband ordered off restaurant week menu. He had saad and roasted duck pappardelle. He said it was delicious. He also said...his Negroni was one of the best he ever had.More

The hype is for real! We went to this restaurant for a pre-cruise dinner. We went early around 5pm and it was not crowded at all. Lovely atmosphere in The Strand. My daughter have the gnocchi and it was amazing. The shrimp was excellent also....My husband had a pizza and it was average. The service was great. It was a little expensive. But worth it. About $150 no alcohol purchased.More

Took the family to Riondo's for their brunch on Mother's Day, and it was fantastic as usual. I had the Crab Sardou again because it is a great breakfast item. The mushroom appetizer is also delicious. This is a place I highly recommend for anyone...visiting Galveston. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g55879-d6995983-r890601072-Riondo_s_Ristorante-Galveston_Galveston_Island_Texas.html#More

This a place with great atmosphere, good location and excellent service. It us well known to us as we are locals who often take friends to the area for dinner or lunch. On this occasion 4/13/23 our party of four had three different entre's and...an apertizer. The menu is on the expensive side for the area, standard fare main course $28 to 35, specials $50 to $75. Of our four entre's only one was editable. The three seafood entre's were uniformly to dry to eat even with extra sauces as requested. All were severely overcooked including two halibut dishes at $50. The place was as inviting as usual, the presentation excellent, the food inedible.More

This is the second dinner we have had here--lunch is always a good option when you are on the Strand. It is easy to spot this restaurant because it is in the ground floor west side of an incredibly beautiful H H Richardson Romanesque red...stone and lime stone structure built in the late 1880's. All of the interior has been recently replaced and the original safe (from when it was a bank) is still intact. Because Galveston was such an important and wealthy city, you will find many of the safes in buildings in the downtown area. We were here for a culinary event where the staff "pulled out all the stops" to make it a real event with great food and even better wine. This was a 5 course extravaganza that was by invitation only, but the restaurant and the staff--as well as the chef--will be there for you to enjoy. We certainly plan to attend when back in town. The staff and owners are extremely friendly and helpful. There is a nice "feel" to the entire property. Parking on the Strand is very awkward ond congested. You MUST have the Galveston parking app if you plan to do any thing on the Strand and all the side streets. There are a number of interesting souvenir shops, designer stores, antique stores/malls, bars and restaurants --as well as a great nautical store--nearby. The Treemont Hotel is a favorite one of ours. Do not miss the roof top bar!More

My wife and I on a weekend trip to Galveston decided on a whim to drop into Riondo’s for lunch. We had been here before, but only sat at the bar during happy hour. The surroundings are elegant, and somehow modern and historic at the...same time. The decor is very evocative of the Galveston historical experience. But when it came time to eat, the experience went to another level. My Tuscan pork was quite good, sweet and savory, and the saffron risotto which accompanied it was also delicious. But the other level was on my wife’s dish. She ordered the gnocchi. They are house made spinach gnocchi in an Alfredo sauce, and they were absolutely perfect. Soft, buttery, with a perfectly complementary sauce. Most restaurants these days use manufactured gnocchi , which is chewier and pretty flavorless. Our server, Kathleen, was attentive and very friendly. She also gave us excellent additional information about things to do and see on the island. We will definitely be back to explore more of the menu, except I’m pretty sure my wife is getting the gnocchi again. It was unbelievable!More

Could not recommend this place more. The experience here and food were both exceptional! We dined in for a late lunch on a cold November Sunday. The pizza, fettuccine, and chicken parmigiana were all delicious. Freshly and hot in our plates. We had a very...good waiter, Joshua. He brought out our drinks and walked us through menu like a real professional. Also was attentive and genuine caring. Highly recommend this location as the food is tremendous and service is just as good. You can tell it’s properly managed and employees give it their all!More

Wow! The calamari was the BEST I’ve ever had! Diondo’s was suggested by a local I met & it was excellent (decor to food). I sat at the last seat at the bar for Happy Hour (3-6) & Bradley, quickly got my drink ($3 premium...beer) & apps ($7) in at 5:52! The decor was classy & tastefully done. I highly recommend the food & drinks at happy hour.More

This restaurant hits all of the fine points: hospitality, service, ambiance and most of all food quality. They were able to accommodate our large (14) party for an early weekend dinner with no pushback at all. Everyone from the host to our TWO waiters was...patient, friendly and on their games. The waiters make great suggestions and knew their wines very well. All of the food was excellent. We basically had half of the menu delivered to our table and there was barely a scrap left by the time we were done. I’d like to recommend a particular item, but I really don’t think you can go wrong with anything. Go with what sounds good at the time and you will enjoy it. One of the owners was making the rounds making sure everyone was satisfied. It is obvious that the staff’s positive attitude comes from the top. We will definitely dine here again when we are in Galveston.More

The restaraunt was on a corner so it was easy to find. Inside is very quaint and pleasant, with nice decor. It is pretty small inside, but that adds to the quaintness. The service was really good, and our waiter was pleasant. Two different managers...checked in on is at different times so they seem on top of their game. I had the swordfish and my wife had the ribeye. Both were very good and the sides were good as well. All in all is was a pleasant dining experience, and somewhere i could see eating again.More

The last time I visited this property, probably close to 20 years ago, it was Luigi's Italian Restaurant. It is now under different ownership and is known as Riondo's Ristorante. I liked Luigi's, but I like Riondo's even more. My wife and I had dinner...at Riondo's, having made reservations online. When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner, with whom we struck up a conversation that continued off-and-on during our evening there. The food was superb, the ambiance enjoyable, and the service perfect. Thomas was our waiter, and he took very good care of us. As we finished our desserts, the owner came by with a plate containing samples of two other desserts he wanted us to try. This was an excellent dining experience. This is a popular restaurant; as such, reservations are recommended.More
