We met very friendly people who smiled and welcomed us. The food was very tasty, even delicious, and the suggested drinks matched the food perfectly. Irina was very attentive and made sure we had the best experience at Trattoria La Vigna. Overall very tasty Italian...food and professional staff! Well done!More
Excellent food and service. I picked this place based on reviews and I was not disappointed. Very fresh and reasonably priced.
The atmosphere was so cute and quaint. Like I was in Europe. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. I had the lasagna with meat sauce. Delicious!!
Everything was great, from the service to the good. We were with another couple, and we all got something different. Everything was just fantastic.
We went on a Sunday afternoon. Restaurant was totally empty. Server was rude about not having a reservation but sat us anyway. Slow serve. Husband is Italian said food was good but not great. As we sat there an employee speaking to a couple that...just arrived made fun/insulted us of not reservation. Went on and on about it. There is no signage about a reservation. If you enjoying being insulted and being served by a meanie this is your restaurant! Btw not all the pasta is not homemade…More
I had the pork chops and they were thinly cut and stacked. It was the best pork I have ever had. The sauce was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their food from the Lasagna to Osso Buco. We’ll definitely go back!
Being from Galveston, it was great to find this hidden gem that was not on the Island when I was a local. From start to finish this place was amazing. Every bite of every meal was exceptional and the service was equally as good. Small...dining area so make reservations. Excellent menu and will return as soon as I can!More
We were looking for somewhere a short walk from Pier 21 where we were staying that would serve good food and that might fit in with a few dietary restrictions. This restaurant seemed to fit the bill and to have a good reputation. Their good...reputation is well deserved. We arrived early and were very warmly welcomed by one of the staff just arriving on shift. She found us a comfortable table and handed our service to Joel who treated us perfectly. Joel's service was absolutely on-point. He was unnoticeable when were chatting or eating, but almost magically appeared whenever we were ready for something else. As we usually do, we went directly to entree, but first we were presented with individual salad plates with a great mix of very fresh leaves and a home style dressing that was quite delicious. The bread that accompanied was also very tasty and just the right amount for us. We ordered a vegetable lasagne and a ravioli dish with crab and cod. Both meals were absolutely first class. The selection of wine by-the-glass is excellent. A wide enough range to suit most tastes and pocketbooks and starting from a high bar. On this occasion we had a Pinot Grigio and a Chianti, both of which were perfect temperature and very drinkable indeed. We were only staying on the island for a couple of nights and would normally have tried another local restaurant on our second evening, but our experience was so good we decided to return. On this occasion the dishes we chose were grilled chicken and pork tenderloin. Both meals were every bit as delicious as our first experience, possibly even better. Once again Joel looked after us perfectly. Nothing was too heavy, the chef obviously has a very even hand and can balance flavors expertly. Highly recommended!More
We ate here for our first meal in Galveston and enjoyed the food. We were seated in the second room Which gradually filled up as the evening wore on. Given our servers highlight of freshly made pastas we all decided on it for our entrees....They were right but also their freshly baked breads were so good as well. Mediterranean style octopus appetizer was spot on. Very tender octopus marinaded with veggies, Kalamata olives and capers. A great combination of flavors and textures. The lasagna was a little mess since it lost its form on the way to our table. Lasagna was filled with creamy and chewy mozzarella, Parmesan and besciamella and placed on a bed of meat sauce. It was hearty and filling. The freshly made Tagliatelle had a firm and chewy texture and was complemented by the meat and vegetable sauce. The crab and fish filled raviolis were nice. Side salads came along with all entries. Not sure what the dressing was made from but it was good. Small desserts were offered and we tried the pan a cotta with berry sauce. Creamy and fruity we just wished there was more to it. Service also was attentive throughout our dinner. We would come back if in Galveston and craving Italian food again.More
Pasta is made by the owner. This is not a chain. Family owned ; chef is the owner . Great food and wonderful salads . I had dessert on one occasion and it was fresh and delicious. Good wine list . I have been twice...and has two different servers both of whom were friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.More
I would have wanted to rate this 2,5 stars, but felt 3 was too high so ended up giving 2. The food was OK, but definitely nothing special. First time during our trip to Texas that we were served with tap water that apparently was...not filtered as you were really able to taste the chlorine so that our daughter refused to drink it. Had to order bottled water. The venue felt stuffy, not fresh and had a strange atmosphere as the curtains were closed (even after the sun had gone down). Also the staff felt low in energy. Not many people in the restaurant on top of us, but still it took long for us to get our food. We ordered pasta bolognese for our kids (4 & 6 yo) who ended up waiting 45 minutes from the order before they got their food. Not great! The waiter was polite and nice, so many thanks to him. Would not go back or recommend. Not worth the money.More
This restaurant is top notch. The meal was perfect. I had the homemade lobster ravioli which is served with a small lobster tail. Delicious. Hubby had the Oso Bucco and loved it. Another one of the diners got the grouper piccata which was excellent. Will...definitely go back.More
We had a rehearsal dinner for 30 people at T la V in December 2021. The food and service were excellent. Most of our guests do not live on the island and had not eaten there before. They were amazed by the food. We agree—and...eat there as often as possible. Our favorites are the salmon, the meatballs, veal, calamari, and basically anything Chef Pina recommends. Oh and don’t pass up the pana cotta for dessert. Delicate cream bliss!More
I've been to this place many times and it never disappoints. My friends wanted to try octopus as an appetizer, we all loved it. Their homemade pasta dishes are great as well as all of the seafood dishes I've tried. I can't recommend this place...enough. I've recommended it to many friends, and all have had no complaints!More
