We went for lunch with the whole family of 5. I had the texas eggs and were great! Guys are very friendly, offering good service. They validate parking, which is a plus in Galveston. Recommended. We’ll go again next time in the island.

We were very happy with the choices and quality of the food. We sought this place out because of a Dallas Morning News recommendation, generally and specifically for shrimp and grits. Marvelous!! My husband had a pepperoni pizza which he liked, and which he had...More

I had the chicken fried steak and it was some of the best ever. Thick gravy fresh green beans and mom’s style mashed potatoes. My friend had the chicken salad, one had Cobb salad and another roasted chicken. Everyone raves about their food.

My family and I came for brunch and we ordered chicken and waffles and the SOS with fried chicken. The fried chicken was the star of both dishes. The biscuits were big and soft, but the taste wasn’t the best. The gravy tasted like a...More

Came here for brunch. This is an order at the counter and then find a seat sort of place. Parking OK, but not sure what it would be like in the summer months. Oh and beware of the huge hole in front of the building...More

Description
Texas Monthly Magazine - "This bright, cheery cafe located near the Medical Center enjoys a legion of foodie fans. Weekday lunches feature great salads, sandwiches, po'boys, and one of our faves-tacos loaded with grilled fish, crunchy cabbage slaw, and a house-made rémoulade that brings it all together. On the weekends we return for a brunch of fluffy biscuits topped with sinfully rich cream gravy and a pitcher of mimosas with fresh squeezed OJ. Oh yeah."
