My husband and myself have visited Cookhouse 3 times and omg the food is absolutely beautiful. The mushroom starter, the carvery and the ribs and wings were delicious. Lovely friendly staff. Beautiful place, just a shame that when you sit outside, it’s overlooking Tesco’s petrol...garage but hey ho. Would definitely recommend. Can’t wait to go backMore

Group of 5 friends went for tea before going to the cinema on a Weekday evening. Firstly, the menus were sticky and filthy, which is unpleasant at any time but with covid rife at the moment, not acceptable!! There were no wine glasses available to...drink our wine from as they had none! Food came, 3 of us were ok with ours but one lady had ordered sausage and mash which arrived cold and one lady had ordered chicken which was still pink inside. The food was taken back and 5 minutes later the sausage and mash was back minus a sausage!! The lady had originally had 3 on her plate and had taken a bite out of one but because they just microwaved it they thought she wouldn’t realise it was the same dinner if the bitten sausage was gone!! After waiting another 25 minutes (at least) the chicken came back freshly cooked but by this time all us other ladies had long eaten ours so she felt uncomfortable eating on her own. We got another bottle of wine which was warm as they’d ran out of wine in the chiller. One of the ladies complained to the assistant manager who came over to us. His attitude was very standoffish… He admitted the food must have been microwaved and couldn’t say where the sausage had gone so gave a full refund but said the chef said the chicken was fine it was just a vein so it was the lady’s fault she had to wait for it to be cooked more! She wasn’t asking for a refund just her food to eat! When questioned about the state of the filthy menus he just said ‘fair point’ and with regards to the wine glasses he said they had none but they were on order. When we asked for reassurance that this wouldn’t happen again the following weekend as we were coming for a night out, his response was’ Do you want to cancel then?’ We were gobsmacked especially as we had a table booked for 11 people for food and drinks!! The overall experience on this occasion was awful.More

where do i start, on sunday 19th september 2021 we phoned up the company and booked a table for 4 and asked if we could be sat on a low table because 2 of our party are pensioners, on arrival a young girl showed us...to an american style booth!!! we told her we couldnt possibly sit there and asked for a different table, the young girl thought that this request was funny and walked away laughing then a snotty little man appeared and totally ignored us when we tried to speak to him. what made it worse was the room we were booked into only had 3 people in it despite it having a 50-60 seating capacity absolutely unbelievable, run by amateurs who obviously dont give a monkeys about customer service i suppose if you put kids in charge this is the attitude you get good luck to you if you have booked into this hellhole.More

The food was very overpriced, chicken wings was burn basically just had hot sauce thrown over them the dip which should of been blue cheese dip was absolutely not the same it was ranch that they served up but charged for blue cheese dip, the...chips where very undercooked and solid like biting into a raw potatoes the steaks where not cooked to medium rare as I asked they were dry amd well done, was two separate steaks like they had been thrown out the packet straight on to a plate equliing to 6lbs, thrown with it was a tomatoe that hadn't even seen the grill it was soggy more like it had been microwaved, I'd like to say something good about it but unfortunately not, iv eaten in resteraunts pubs take outs all the time, amd iv never put a bad review yet on food I'm not one for bad reviews but this was extremely poor food, my mother-in-law ordered fish amd chips iv never been so discussed yet again solid undercooked chips with an over cooked fish either the fish was very overcooked or the oil it was cooked in was burn and old, batter is supposed to be golden brown the batter on her fish was more than the fish itself amd was very dark brown in colour and very hard to cut and just for mine and my partners plate alone was £50 the food was not nice at all or very well served, I'm sorry to say I never like to say anything bad but they realy do need to look at getting some better chefs and lowering their prices I was so dissapointed we left amd ended up buying a chippyMore

Booked in here on a trip to North Wales not knowing the area so we could get a meal, so glad I did. We all had the £7.95 medium carvery which was more than enough the food was lovely and we didnt have to wait...we decided to have a pudding too which was also very nice. As we enjoyed it so much we planned a return visit before we left we all decided to try the other menu but was a bit disappointed that gammon steak was not available so opted for the carvery again it would of been helpful if the staff had mentioned items were unavailable before ordering at the bar as there was quite a big queue but apart from that good food and service if we are in prestatyn again will definitely pop back in.More

Food was fab, as a walk in of 7 on a Saturday evening. However, we did have people who eat at different speeds, but clearing a table of empty plates while people are still eating is frankly rude in my eyes. As soon as one...person finished their plate was taken away. Not great for that soul reason.More
