We had the opportunity to experience this fine restaurant . The food was exceptional, the ambiance was wonderful. So we applaud the restaurant! However, one disappointment and that was with our server. Our server had a very untidy look, messy hair, wrinkled shirt and his...More

We had friend for the weekend and he suggested Anson's. He had lived here 15 years ago and this was his favorite place. I warned him that a lot can change in 15 years, but we wanted a new experience and he wanted to relive...More

We are in our mid-60s and foodies. Spent a night in Charleston while traveling. Was able to book ahead a table for 2. We were seated by the window at the end of bar where it was relatively quiet and intimate. We started with whiskeys...More

Date night. Not stuffy or ridiculously expensive as other downtown restaurants are. I had the diamond scored flounder with Apricot Chutney (reminded me of Garibaldis when they were open). Delicious. My GF had the filet med-rare, it was prepared perfect!

We’ve walked past Anson’s the last time we were in town - and never made it in. We won’t make that mistake again!! We dined here with friends and couldn’t have had a better meal or service!! Don’t miss out....just make sure you make reservations!

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed Anson's! Food was delicious, the atmosphere was romantic, and the waiter was very nice. Cocktails were yummy as well. None of it was cheap, although most of the upscale restaurants in Charleston are all similarly (highly) priced. And we...More

Straight to the point! Pros: The building was beautiful, well decorated and fits the Charleston atmosphere. Beautiful chandeliers and painting. The wine choices were above average. I chose a French white. The menu gives patrons many choices from steaks to seafood. We started She Crab...More

We ate at Anson on our third and final night in Charleston. Although the interior was different than what I expected from the website photos, we liked the upstairs dining room. My husband had the catch of the day which he pronounced excellent and I...More

We were there in April-May. Some people dressed up for dinner, some dressed smart casual, and some were casual. From my observation I would say its up to you.

No. Just wear what you'd normally wear to a decent restaurant.
