Went to Sally Pussey's for our anniversary. The food was great, we visited as a family of 4 with 2 young kids. We all ended up going for various starters and burgers from the menu, all were piping hot, served in good time, no complaints...there. Disgustingly rude older waitress (curly hair - possibly Paula?), dismissed that our table was sticky saying that it was a reaction of the cleaning fluid they use and the varnish on the table "I could wipe it again but there's no point". When we asked for straws for our kid's drinks, it was greeted by a grunt and she went off and produced them with some tongs "you need to take them from me!" was how she presented the straws. The grumpy waitress also failed to inform us we had a time limit at our table, we overheard her say to another table that they had 2 hours, so we assumed we had the same. In fact, she came to our table repeatedly to get a dessert order, twice in a couple of minutes, when we still hadn't made a decision, she advised we needed to vacate our table soon , because there was another group who needed our table. I advised that I thought we had 2 hours and she said that it was actually an hour and a half! This gave us 10 minutes to order and also eat our desserts, clearly not enough time. She had put us off our appetite by this point and we went elsewhere for dessert. There was a tall male waiter who was FAR more polite and even smiled (perhaps he could train his colleagues on some of the basic fundamentals of courteous service?) Would only return if guaranteed better service.More

The only good thing about the meal was the waitress There were 16 of us and 14 of us had carvery ,2 other ordered of the menu the pizza came out after we had all finished eating ,it was doughy and uncooked on complaining we...got that free and took home to cook futher. Ordered a white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake which 3 of us tasted and felt it tasted wrong sent it back to be told it's in date nothing wrong with it was charged for that. was absolutely disgusting. there was a man on the other table he sent his dinner back definitely going down in my eyes. The waitress was amazing .More

I booked a table online for Sunday lunch as I was visiting my family in Swindon to celebrate my daughters birthday. The venue was really fabulous and the attention to safety was very reassuring ! The service was truly excellent, the waitress was very polite...friendly and very attentive. The choice on the menu was superb and varied! I had salmon, my daughter & son had the roast and my daughter in law choose the lamb shank. The food was cooked to perfection and we all ate every single bit! The best was the pudding ..OMG the sticky toffee pudding was to die for! We all agreed that it was a fabulous meal & that we would definitely go back again!More

Visited with friends for Sunday lunch on Father’s Day. Lots of Covid precautions in place at the entrance and an effective meet and greet system. We all opted for the carvery which offered ample choice and very generous portions. Unfortunately, as is often the case...with carveries, the food was not as hot as I would like. It tasted amazing though. Our experience was ruined by the rudeness of one staff member when she shouted abruptly at our table that the doors had to remain open and don’t close them. I wouldn’t have minded so much if one of us had actually closed the doors, but we hadn’t. The way she shouted took us all by surprise. Covid restrictions and guidelines must be adhered to and the need for the doors in question to be open was 100% right, but that is not an excuse for any staff member to be rude.More

We were greeted politely and seen to politely by all staff. Served in a timely Manor. Food was amazing. We were asked of we would like anything else, to which we said no. 10 minutes later we were asked again. We did still have half...our drinks left. We were told we would have a hour an a half when enter the restaurant, we were only there for an hour at this point. We just felt a little rushed.More

We only allow dogs in the garden as the restaurant tends to get rather cramped and could run a risk to the dogs well being.
