My husband and I wanted to find a restaurant with outdoor seating in a region fairly close to Pittsburgh where the autumn leaves would be in full display! I found Out of the Fire Cafe in an internet search and the beautiful weather today prompted...us to give it a try! The website encouraged making reservations, and we were able to secure one for 7:30. Well, we were able to enjoy the autumnal colors on our drive up, but my hopes that the light would last long enough to enjoy the view from our table didn’t pan out. No matter! The food and the service were wonderful! My husband had the Wild Citrus Glazed Scallops, Crispy Oyster Mushroom, and a coconut curry soup; I had the Dukkah and Amaranth Crusted Jail Island Salmon, an endive salad special, Goat Cheese and Carmelized Onion Whipped potatoes; and for dessert we shared churros and Dulce de Leche. Every single morsel of food was such a treat for the senses, and our server, Joe, was both very friendly and knowledgeable! I highly recommend Out of the Fire Cafe!More
