We were treated great at the hotel with great free coffee. They have breakfast here. We chose to wait. They opened a restaurant down the street that is owned by the same couple for lunch and dinner. We had the prime rib which was out of this world. Lots of homemade stuff like Mardi Gras coleslaw.
Glad we went there. I am a pretty good cook. I am not easily impressed. I got our moneys worth

We had a great stay, room was clean and quiet. Bed was comfy. Loved out stay in this wonderfully historic hotel. Thank you to the owners for keeping it a treasure to share. Food was wonderful. we hope to stay again some day. Loved the steam heat!

This restaurant is located in the Union Hotel and, as noted in another review, is one of the few places in town to get a good meal. The hotel owners Ruth and Charlie also double as waitress and chef. Our medallions of pork and salmon were tasty dishes and well presented. The price was reasonable. Rosie, the owner's sheep dog, has the run of the hotel lobby and dining room, but is a quiet and homey presence.

I was part of a large group, so service was a bit slow and clunky. I didn't find the dinners to be awesome, but only adequate due to bland vegetables, seasonings that didn't incorporate into the entree, and an awful, probably bottled, Raspberry salad dressing. Breakfasts were hearty and traditional, with great wheat toast. I very much enjoyed the historic trappings of this grand old hotel and the 20's music playing in the background.

There were 6 of us and we enjoyed a quiet, laid-back dinner is a turn-of-the-century dining room. We had rib-eye steak and each was cooked to perfection. The BBQ ribs were huge and meaty and had their own special sauce. The pecan pilaf was great. The prices were reasonable.

Union does not have a lot of options. You can spend $10 for a greasy burger & fries or have a very good meal, with soup, salad, fresh bread and fresh fish for $20 in the hotel's elegant dining room. The breakfasts are perfect.
