New owners! Food is excellent! Service is excellent! When you order a burger, you get either French fries, tator tots (Devine!), salad ( with everything!). Burger are flame grilled and cooked to perfection. Everything is fresh cooked! Owners are absolutely lovely. They also have drive thru service! I can't say enough! My friend and I go once a week and love it every time!

My wife and I ate here as we have in the past after a round of golf at Buffalo Peak Golf Course. We both ordered the special for the day, hamburger steak. It was excellent served with mashed potatoes and gravy and a salad. It was certainly more than enough food. My wife and I could have easily shared one. It reminded me of the good old fashioned country cooking I'd been used to growing up many years ago. I think that in itself is what makes this a great place to eat. The service was also great. We'll continue to visit here whenever in Union for a round of golf.

Gravy Dave's is one of those diners that ever small town seems to have. Everyone knows everyone else, and it makes for a laid back atmosphere that anyone can enjoy. Top it off with a mile long list of milk shake flavors and you have a place that has been here for over 20 years, and likely will be for 20 more. If you want a heaping helping of home town vibe to go with generous portions of food, well you've come to the right place!

The food was reasonably priced and a pretty good selection for a small burger diner. The one thing that really impressed me was the burger patty was hand pressed, real meat, not one of those preformed frozen patties. This is a place I would definitely try again.

We enjoyed a good home cooked breakfast. The guys had omelets, one 3 egg- sausage and cheese, one 6 egg Denver. Both were eaten up so they must have been good. My meal was pancakes and eggs with some additional bacon. It was the special of the morning and it didn't disappoint (personally I prefer real butter but I know that can get expensive). The homemade cinnamon roll was very large and tasted perfect.

In all fairness this is the second time we have attempted to eat here we always give two. Walked in saturday morning three customers in the building waited at counter as i only wanted to order to go food the waitdress nor cook acknowledge me as i am passed by 3 times with in arms reach of them so i pick up a menu and stand at the counter/ice cream cooler the cook looks right at me when she was standing behind the grill saying nothing. I stand there for the better part of 5 more minuets waitdress back and forth still expecting to hear "be right with you" but nothing i think is it me? Did i come in at a bad time? Is there something i did wrong? No i walked into an establishment that depends on customers like me to continue to stay in business at least that is what i thought i guess this place is so sure someone else is going to walk in right behind me they dont need my business so i obliged and walked out. La Grande ain't that far away.

5 of us in family and everybody was well pleased with their choice of breakfast. This is a good hearty breakfast, the way breakfast should be! Large portions, quality homemade ingredients. Local small town atmosphere. Butter is not spared, I'm sure it's not the healthiest option but when you want a good old fashioned meal, the place to go!

Meet the locals; swap stories; pace yourself as you eat your way back into the past before calorie counters, fat free products, and skimpy portions. Make sure you have hiked 20+ miles or the equivalent and then you will not feel guilty for sitting down to breakfast at Gravy Dave's.

Gravy Dave's has been a popular place to eat and or get take out for years in my family. Even strangers in town are made to feel welcome and part of the community. And who could beat those great big cinnamon rolls.

We had been beat up the previous day and all through the night fighting high winds while pulling our trailer. Camped nearby at a nice RV resort. We thought we'd be lazy and eat breakfast in the nearby town. Am I glad we did! The place was small and busy when we arrived, about 8am. Service was friendly and fast! We were in and out in less than a half hour. We both ordered the scrambled eggs on biscuits and smothered in gravy. My wife had a half order (big enough for two light appetites) and I had the full! Wow! It was huge! The biscuits were fresh and covered the large plate. The gravy was probably a mix, but tasted just fine. There were at least 3 eggs, but maybe more! I got two breakfasts out of this... AND it was $8.75 (I believe). So if you want to fill up and have something stick with you for a long time, this is it!

I grew up eating here and there is just no place that makes stuff like they do. The milk shakes dont have just flavoring in it they have CHUNKS of real fruit in them. The patties are lean beef that is local.

When I hit the "near me now" app and "Gravy Dave's" came up #1 in Union, there was no doubt. The name alone would have dragged me here. Nobody puts on the dog at Gravy Dave's pretending to be anything but what it is. The name says that. Nice touches, like menus and condiments at the table. Why any diner would want patrons to sit idle until a generally overworked waitress (rare indeed for small town diners to have male servers, no?) brings them menus is beyond me. We'd been seated three or four minutes when the waitress came with her pad ready to take our order, and we were ready to do so. The miz had a BLT she declared to be excellent, the bacon crisp as ordered. My burger was that perfect made-to-order small town hamburger I remember as a kid. It just seemed like the kind of place one orders coffee with lunch (no alcohol served) and the $1.00 coffee was what I expected. We live near Seattle, where coffee tends to be strong and technical. This is diner coffee, where one can enjoy two refills and not be bouncing off the ceiling. The miz had a 20 oz milkshake so thick we took the last of it with us when we left, and the total bill for two great sandwiches, coffee, and a shake was $15 something. Without being in any kind of hurry we were in and out in half an hour, I realized later when I saw what the stop added to the GPS predicted destination time. Dang. I'm likely to drive the 10 miles or whatever off I-84 next time I'm passing through just to enjoy this place again.
