Street parking can be difficult in Troutdale on a warm summer day, but fortunately the parking lot right across the street had ample space. The restaurant menu offers a wide variety of options, both for food and beverages. Service was prompt and friendly. We sat outside at one of the sidewalk tables and watched the world go by in this charming little town. Our salads were fresh and tasty and the daily soup - included with the salads - was delicious.

We are staying at the RV campground in Troutdale and checking out dinner spots. We were in the mood for Italian and just gave this a try for takeout. We ordered pasta dinners which included appetizer, salad, bread, entrees and dessert. Everything was very good, but they forgot to include the dessert in our takeout bag. I went back to the restaurant and the server immediately came to help me, and offered TWO slices of cheesecake, and added strawberry topping, to makeup for their mistake. Oops, but theymade up for it!

We didn't understand why our grandson was not eating the meatballs with his spaghetti dinner. Then we both tried them and understood. The flavor was really odd. We couldn't quite determine what the different spice or over use of a spice was and we have eaten a lot of meatballs! Sauce was good on all the dishes. Furnishings could use some updates. Service was so so but in the time of COVID they were probably lucky to have help.

I read all the reviews on this restaurant. It was nothing like I anticipated. The atmosphere was nice, the service was good and the wine list had several wines all reasonably priced. As for the food, I ordered the Tuscan Salmon. I expect a salmon filet on top of linguini. What I received was a few salmon bits and none had any flavor. My wife had the stuffed halibut. There was very, very little stuffing and the fish was tough. The portobello mushroom appetizer was good.

Overall, we all enjoyed our meals. Pasta, lite sauce, lasagna, chicken parmesan, and penna alla boscaiola, and Cesar salad and spinach salads. Only negatives, chicken parmesan was slightly overcooked, and only one piece of bread with your meal. If we lived here, we come back.

The food is excellent. My husband always orders the spaghetti and meatballs. It is a huge portion which we take home the leftover. I had a mixed seafood pasta dish. Pasta was perfectly cooked, and the seafood was not over cooked. I did ask for an extra side of pasta sauce as it was a little dry when it was served. Love the bruschetta that is included with the meal. House Merlot is ok, but it is reasonably priced.
Service was good. There is a family friendly atmosphere.

We were exploring the gorge area and stopped in this little town. Everything is so picturesque and charming! The food here was fine, nothing exceptional since we only ordered a turkey sandwich and a Cesar salad for a late lunch. The location is adorable and the little park across the street is like stepping back in time. Grab a bite to eat her and go explore the town a little, it's worth a stop.

Went to the first Friday art walk September 2, 2022 and stopped for dinner. Had barbecue ribs appetizer and lobster ravioli. After taking the order the wait person took a powder. Never checked back. Had to request additional water from one of the food runners as well as a dessert menu. Waited 5 minutes to order dessert and never had the opportunity to do so. By the type a management type person asked if everything was OK, I told her in no uncertain terms about my displeasure. No tip and no return visit.

We were still dealing with time changes when we stopped in around 5:15 on a Wednesday. We were the only people there but many started arriving at 6. We had a spinach and Greek salad. Both were good. The pasta with marinara was wonderful. My husband had pasta with meatballs but had zucchini pasta. It was also very good. Would stop again if we ever come back.

We found this restaurant yesterday but were extremely pleased and will be back as often as we can. Delicious food, delightful servers, and wonderful authentic atmosphere. We felt like we had enjoyed a trip to Italy. The atmosphere, decor, gracious servers, everything made this a truly delightful memorable experience--one of the highlights of this trip!

We had a wonderful server named Gennilee who helped us narrow our choices. Good size portions and the deserts looked crazy good. Definitely will come again on our next visit to town! A kids menu and so so many good things to choose from and not too spendy for what you get.

I had heard great things about this restaurant. We were very disappointed. The food was not good and the restaurant looked and felt dirty. Sadly, we will not be going back.

I was recently in the Portland area and read relatively good reviews of Ristorante Di Pompello in Troutdale. It was in a nice location with outdoor seating. However, my experience will ensure that I never make the mistake of going there again.
I ordered the lasagna with a side salad. The lasagna looked good. It was piping hot in some spots but ice cold in other spots. When I commented about the cold spots to the server after the meal, she said it had cold spots because "the serving is so large!" She never apologized for the cold food.
The ultimate insult came a day later with the billing. I paid with my credit card and left a tip of $3.50 (over 22%) only because the service was good and prompt. I got an email from my credit card company saying the restaurant had submitted an additional charge of $9.50 to my credit card without the card being present. That's when I discovered that the restaurant had fraudulently increased my tip to $9.50 (a 61% tip on a dinner of $15.50).
I sent an email to the owner of the restaurant six days ago to question the fraudulent charges. He never acknowledged or responded to my email. I opened a charge dispute with my credit card company.
I am now sorry I left any tip at all. I most certainly will never go to Ristorante Di Pompello again. I would give them zero stars if that were an option!

I stopped by on a whim to pick up a couple of salads for an appt. with a friend at Columbia Gorge Salon and Spa, as I had heard they are excellent and the owner/chef really supports the local business owners in Troutdale! Oh my - they were OUTSTANDING!!!! I had the chicken pasta salad with Greek salad dressing and my friend had the Caesar salad. They threw in an amazing appetizer and soup for each of us that was SOOO GOOD!!!! I was so excited about the food, I took my husband back for dinner the next week. We had appetizers (clams - an AMAZING portion, and they were OUR FAVORITE!!!!, and their signature bread with tomatoes in a balsamic reduction), spinach salad with Greek dressing and Caesar salad, Mediterranean pasta salad, Chicken Piccata, Tiramisu, Chocolate Cake!!! Our server, Allie, could not do enough to make our night fun and memorable for us but it was her last night, alas!!! We hope she comes back as she was outstanding and we love her! We raved so much about how great the food and service were, portions were incredible, prices were beyond reasonable, seafood was ridiculously fresh, atmosphere was relaxed, great place to chill and enjoy a rustic, well-priced meal by an OUTSTANDING CHEF who KNOWS how to cook REAL Italian food with Greek infusion - why not go back the next night and try it again? So we did. On a Monday, worst night for restaurants. This time, we tried the mussels as an appetizer. Along with more of the bread and tomatoes in balsamic reduction that is soo tasty and fresh. The mussels were perfect! Easily the best dish we’ve had in years! We will go back for that as often as possible!!! Our mains came with small salads, which were the only disappointment. My Caesar was brown and inedible. I was shocked that it made it to the table. For my main I ordered the seafood portofino which was generous with the seafood and the pasta was perfectly al dente. The sauce was absolutely wonderful. My husband had the spaghetti frutti di mare in a garlic tomato marinara sauce, which was delicate and not overly-seasoned like so many American chefs typically do when imitating Italian cooking. He was surprised and delighted! We ended the meal with strawberry cheesecake and spumoni, both of which were superb! The chef remembered us from the previous evening and visited our table, adding to the enjoyment of the evening. This is a place to go for authentic, unpretentious, fresh Italian seafood and the best dinner salads in the area, where you can put your elbows on the table and relax over a delicious meal made with love by people who care about this area!
