My wife and I tried Southpark Seafood to satisfy our fish and seafood desire. Fish-wise I was surprised the menu really only offered King Salmon and Ahi tuna. Seafood selection focused on oysters, clams, Dungeness crab, and shrimp but only in an expensive seafood platter.
For an oyster lover, there is a large selection of Northwest sources oysters on ice at their oyster bar. I ordered the fried oysters which was okay and served with lettuce. I especially enjoyed the Boston clam chowder which had the clams in the shell in the soup. My King Salmon was tasty served with farro. My wife liked her grilled scallops ( she got three scallops) in a very rich risotto that she couldn’t finish. The bread served was very fluffy flavorful. Service was excellent from our server Nate.

I went with a colleague on a Thursday night because we were in town for a conference. I reserved a table on OpenTable, but I'm not sure I needed to. I had a Kale Oyster Rockefeller to start, followed by a 3 course special they had on the menu. I chose clam chowder, tuna, and a lemon cheesecake which came with a raspberry sorbet on the side. All the food was delicious. Our waitress was very friendly, though she was very slow to get our drink order, food order, and bring the check.

A wonderful Portland restaurant staple. Great decor, wonderful food, extensive bar and wines and super staff. Today we had Happy Hour. The shrimp and grits are delicious! Excellent bread and the best olive oil. That's a big deal to us. Food was served hot and flavorful. Luke was our server and he was terrific. Very friendly, thorough, knowledgeable and a superb server. He was punctual and asked often without being a pest if he could offer us anything else. He is a big plus to this restaurant. I'm sure they know that.

Visited Southpark Seafood on referral from business acquaintance. Brought a colleague and client for a business meal together. Menu was comprised of decent NW seafood offerings and we tried many appetizers as we as a couple entrees. Cocktails were ordered, but came in rather small volume glasses. We each ordered two as they were quite small and expensive for what you get, so to speak. Menu fare was OK, not overly impressed, but I can't write anything bad or options to avoid. Was most disappointed in the octupus appetizer, sliced and then packed together before grilling, creating somewhat of a pancake instead of nice individual bite size offerings for sharing. In the end, an expensive bill at the end of the night for a decent/average meal.

My wife and I are visiting Portland from Sacramento and have eaten at a few places around our hotel and even though the food has been good our service has been meh, so when we stopped into South Park we were wowed at the delicious food and our exception server Molly who not only directed us in food but also in what to drink with the food. Customer service is a hard thing to get these days and south park hit it out of the field. Thanks SP for the great food and Service! PS, get the cioppino!

I stopped in with my teen and my adult stepkid for a Friday lunch before the teen took some standardized tests. We started out with baked oysters and then the teen went for the fish and sticks, the older had the seafood stew, and I had a crab roll and a cup of chowder.
The stew and chowder were both tasty and very meaty. The crab roll was smaller than expected, but combined with the chowder made for a delicious and filling meal. The team tends to be a picky eater but she was very happy with the fish and chips.
Our server, Luke, was excellent-- because we had the test coming up we didn't have time to linger over the meal and he did a great job of making sure we were able to keep our schedule, without doing anything to make us feel rushed.
All in all a great experience, and we'll be back soon!

We have always been happy with the service and food until yesterday. We enjoy sitting at the bar, chatting with the staff and indulging in the happy hour offerings. Shannon wasn't there and Dave was not about to engage in any hospitable welcome. We were surprised he was a bartender ,as his T shirt and lack of customer interest indicated to us he may be a bus boy. We had a few questions, and when he rolled his eyes at us, we should have left. This is one of our favorite stops after a day of errands. We kept our beverages and food order simple, so as not to bother him, anymore. The fish was not the usual yummy flavor... actually, it was dry.
We were never asked if there was anything else we'd like, just offered the bill.... as if to say, "you're no longer welcome". Never had we experienced such negativity. Now, we know that not all their servers are meant to be with the public, and to sit in areas with staff we already know.

My wife celebrated a late Valentine's night out with a symphony and dinner at Southpark (a first). Well, from the moment Sarah greeted us, I knew it was going to be special. She conveyed the special instruction to our wonderful server, Joan. Joan cared for us brilliantly with just the right amount of attention, follow-up and check handling. She guided us through the menu, made good suggestions and then checked-in with us with details on the food preparation. We will definitely be back for more than lunch. Dinner was special and appreciated. Oh yeah, the food was terrific, too...obviously the chefs know how to prep and present great ingredients.

I can't remember if I have ever give a #1 rating. But the service here was so bad I would have given a zero if possible. Stopped in on the recommendation of a tour guide from a company I was reviewing for YouTube Initially I told the hostess I wss ordering take out. However, after paying for the food decided it would be cold by the time I got back to my location and immediately told hostess I would be dining in. I was seated and a waiter brought water to my table. I told him I initially was take out but had changed my mind. It should be noted it was around 2pm and only three other tables occupied inside and a couple outside.
I noticed other tables were provided bread and butter so I waited to receive same. After 2 waiters passed me several times I tried to get one of their attention unsuccessfully. I finally got up found a waiter and asked for bread and butter. He obliged. However, I had no silverware. As I am trying to figure out how I'm supposed to put butter on bread without silverware another waiter walks by and drops silverware on the table without saying a word.
Eventually the hostess brings my entree along with the side salad I ordered. I prefer to eat my salad first and then my meal. So, rather than eat my salad and have the meal get cold, which is what I wanted to avoid, I decide to take my salad with me and just ate my entree.
I ordered the fish and chips. I must say the fish was excellent, probably the best I have had with an order of fish and chips. It was moist, cooked to perfection, and the coating was the exact level of crispness. The fries, however, were mostly hard and only a few decent enough to eat.
I would have liked a glass of wine but NO ONE ever returned to my table to ask me if I wanted anything or if everything was ok. So, no wine. Finally, after finishing and it was clear I wasn't going to be helped by anyone I got up and went to the kitchen staff to ask for a to go box for my salad and was given one. Quite honestly I don't see how a restaurant stays in business with such rotten customer service. I never leave a tip under 20-25%. But, this time I felt the mandatory 15% take out gratuity was too much and left nothing additional!! I am going to contact the person from the tour company who recommended this place and suggest they stop doing so because as I was leaving I saw another person from the tour was also there. I hope they were treated better than me.

I am so embarrassed to hear about the level of hospitality you experience with us. You should not have fallen through the cracks simply because you had a take-out order then decided to dine-in. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. We will be implementing additional training and make service steps for these types of scenarios a part of our continued staff education so something like this doesn't happen to other guests. As I am sure you can see from our other guest reviews and the fact that our local guides recommend us that this is not a typical experience with us. May I invite you back for a true Southpark Seafood experience? It would be unfortunate if this one, albeit very poor, service experience defined the restaurant for you and motivated you to spread negative sentiment. Go here!!! What an incredible meal. We decided to come here for happy hour to celebrate my birthday, and already can’t wait to come back!
We were greeted quickly by a man named Josh, who’s majestic hair alone would make Poseidon jealous. Josh ended up being our server, and was so knowledgeable and friendly, it made the experience that much better.
He talked us into the Fried Oyster Ssam, and holy crap was it amazing! Think fried oyster lettuce wraps meet pork belly bahn mi!! Unbelievable!
Dishes not to miss were the Fried Oyster Ssam, Garlic Confit Pizza and the Lemon Cheesecake! Dishes we could have skipped were the Baked Oysters and the Smoked Trout (these weren’t bad, just not as amazing as the rest of our order).
They have an amazing cocktail and wine list, and a fun, semi-casual atmosphere. Cheers to the chef, and Josh! We will certainly be back!

Southpark Seafood is great downtown Portland restaurant destination. Extremely fresh seafood and other options. If you like oysters on the half shell, always fresh here. Service is professional, attentive and friendly. Hours have been limited during Covid restrictions. But they have extended to 10p on Friday and Saturday nights Open from noon on , so one of those restaurants you can visit after a day of shopping between lunch/dinner and receive service. They don’t disappoint

Southpark Seafood was within a short walking distance of the Duniway Hilton where we were staying. Having arrived on a late flight and fortunately managed to get there before the 9 PM Covid cut-off for ordering food. We had the clam chowder which features actual clams in their shells and gnochi in a wonderfully flavorful clam broth. The waiter suggested cioppino and he was spot on. The best we’ve ever had with huge scallops, shrimp, halibut, & clams in a flavorful tomato sauce with pea-sized fregula pasta. What a delight.

We were looking for something small and stopped by for happy hour. I didn't think we would need a reservation for 4 PM but it is highly recommended that you do reserve. We sat outside under a heater. Service was a bit slow - inside the restaurant was very busy and our server was stretched thin. The seafood was delicious, with small portions (and very small oysters).

Southpark is a Portland must-visit. The General Manager Jason leads a team focused on not only exceptional service, but on kindness and compassion for staff and guests. Chef Chris and his crew have designed a menu that not only changes with the seasons, but keeps regulars coming back for old favorites and new adventures. If you are in Portland, make Southpark a destination.

Our tour guide from Wildwood Adventure Tours recommended this restaurant after being dropped off from our tour and we're glad she did. Within a block of our drop-off point, it was very convenient to get to by foot. It was relatively busy at lunch time (about 1pm) but we were greeted cheerfully by the hostess and seated immediately at a sidewalk table in the shade.
Our server, Molly, was excellent. Thank you Molly! The Burgers we ordered tasted great and Hit the Spot. The Smoked King Salmon Collar was different but good. I didn't know what to expect as I don't recall ever having the collar before. And of course, nothing ever beats a local brew on a warm summer's day. The burger price was up there, but I attribute that to dining in a city.
