I stopped for lunch and had a great, messy, tasty burger. The mountaineer was a great choice to order with bacon, cheese, onion ring and a sweet tangy sauce. Again great burger. The service on the other hand could use a little attention. The service is slow and they spend a great deal of time visiting with regulars instead of tending to the other customers. The are polite and friendly, just slow. Overall I would go again for the food.

In an area of poor restaurant experiences, Bud Jackson's restored our faith that you could get good service and good food at a restaurant. From the outside it's hard to tell what it's like inside, but it's a very open and family friendly place. lots of booths and large table options for big groups.
The service was fast and friendly. You never felt rushed but also never neglected.
The beer selection is good, covers a range of types of beer. We got the Battered cod basket and cobb salad. The fish was perfectly cooked and the cobb salad had a lot of good stuff in it, not just a bowl of lettuce.
I would recommend this place for anyone or any group.

This place was pretty crowded but our server just flew around rather quickly and was quite friendly & nice at same time. Thought it might be sports bar only but restaurant section fairly quiet although several families. I got a great amber beer on tap, huge serving of pasta and David's lamb chop and vegies also generous. A nice meal

It is a bar atmosphere but the food is excellent. The serving are very good size. The wait service is excellent. It made a great place for dinner.

Stopped in for lunch while on our way through. We had a blue cheese burger which was very good and our server, Lisa, was very friendly and attentive.
I would have given a higher rating except for the following. This is a state that has an indoor mask mandate and there wasn't a server in sight that was wearing a mask. Also only saw one other customer with a mask.

Interesting group of people made for a fun people watching experience. The staff and food were fantastic. It was a fun place with a good atmosphere

Awesome tasting food, super huge portions and friendly staff. We had late lunch and breakfast here both were outstanding. We don’t live close but will come back when in town

Overnight for business, I asked the clerk at the next door Travelodge hows the steak special next door (I had noticed the sign in front of the restaurant as I was pulling in) and he said fantastic, and if you are staying two nights so is their Friday prime rib. When dinnertime arrived I looked at the weather, thought about driving 30 miles round trip to Cove, and decided, what the h.. I'll give it a try. My experience with steak specials at small restaurants has been they they are not so hot, but this was a very happy exception. The building is half busy bar (on a Thursday night) and half quiet restaurant. Locally sourced sirloin, tender, tasty, cooked to perfection, no gristle, looking much larger than the 8 ounces I was expecting, served with steamed vegetables and a baked potato. Nice beer selection as well, I enjoyed a local IPA. And great service. The special was an amazingly low $10.95, making this a value that rivals anything I've ever seen.

My husband and I decided to take a road trip on the motorcycle. My son was LaGrande for an oil change, so we met at Bud Jacksons for lunch. My husband ordered a burger, said burger had a piece of bone in it. The bone broke my husband's tooth. The waiter did tell the manager and the manager did comp my husband's meal, but didn't feel it was important enough to come check on him. My husband lost that tooth, it couldn't be saved. I PM'd Bud Jacksons and surprisingly never heard a thing about it. Gosh, the least they could have done was pay for the surgery he had to have. We'll never eat there again!

We came as part of a rather large group and the staff did a pretty good job of taking care of most of us as quickly as they could. There was one outstanding male server who seemed to be taking care of almost everyone. If it wasn't for him, our table wouldn't have been waited on. After noticing we had been waiting a really long time, he went and got us a waitress to take our order since we weren't in his section. Wish I knew his name, because he deserves personal recognition. The food wasn't anything to write home about. My husband and I both had the top sirloin. It was pretty tough. We wouldn't have it again. The potatoes and veggies were good. The salad was okay, but it amounted to only lettuce with a few bites of red onion. Others in our group said their food was good, so perhaps you'd have better results if you chose a different menu item. That's what we would do if we ever went here again.

This was such a fun place to have a few drinks! The food smelled amazing even though we didn’t eat. They have a nice outdoor smoking area with tables. Overall a happening place.

Food was good but slow service. Very noisy so unable to hear those around you. Not good for kids as it is a bar setting. Greasy food.

We chose this restaurant as our hotel clerk mentioned they make a good meal. The special was a steak dinner so we decided to go with that. The steak was okay but the split bean soup tasted like runny chili, the garlic mashed potatoes were anything but mashed or garlic flavoured and the steamed veggies were cold. Disappointing meal.

The sports bar and grill was recommended by the associates at the front desk of the Best Western. We arrived at the hotel late afternoon on a Sunday. A lot of the restaurants were closed on Sundays. It was a great choice. The food was good and the staff were friendly. We had chicken quessidias and potatoe skins. Delicious! The sports bar had tons of tvs, so if you enjoy watching television you would love this bar and grill.
We were on the restaurant side.
