After a short wait for a table (had a drink next door) we managed to get a table outside on a busy summer evening. Usually a bit sceptical of chain restaurants but the food was fantastic (mussels, fish stew and a perfectly cooked steak) and...the staff were very attentive and friendly. We had a great evening and will definitely go back.More

I’ve messaged Cote privately about this visit - they have chosen to ignore me . From the very first encounter with the male front of house he was dismissive and frankly rude . I was treating a friend to a champagne brunch on the hottest...day of the year . She is recovering from major surgery . Our table soon became flooded with sun . There were 2 tables adjacent in the shade . I asked could we move to these . No , was the reply customers who had just arrived were having them …. As existing customers I feel we should be a priority not someone who hasn’t even enters the premises . Hiss manner was objectionable and he does your company a disservice . He ruined our visit .More

Great service, did not have to wait too long for food to arrive after we ordered - even though it was busy. Well presented and overall good food

Visits to Cote seem always to be dependably rewarded with delicious food and attentive service, and this venue never fails to impress. It has indeed become a favourite when returning to visit Kingston. The location overlooking the river offers attractive visual distractions, but enjoyment of...good food, attentive service, and conversation with companion prove the winners. Our selection from the Prix Fixe menu with our three courses and a bottle of crisp white wine on a sweltering hot day was a wonderfully relaxing reward for a year and a half of the necessary pandemic social isolation. My friend chose crispy whitebait, and I the pork terrine with a fruity chutney and toasted sourdough slices, both followed by grilled seabass fillets with refreshing citrus salad. Having just enough space left we decided on desserts, my choice of a deliciously rich chocolate ice-cream and raspberry sorbet was perfect, as was my friend's strawberry pavlova. Service was, as on previous visits, very attentive and friendly. I so wish that Cote would open in the town I am now resident in!More

Came to have lunch on the river accompanied by my wife and mother and her friend. The food was excellent, the salmon fillet was perfect, my wifes grilled chicken was 5/5 and my steak was perfectly cooked. The desserts were all amazing but I recommond...the strawberry pavlova dessert its big enough to share!!More

We was really disappointed with our long awaited trip to one of our favourite restaurants for my birthday as having not visited since Dec 19. I had booked our table well in advance up to 2 months possibly longer and felt like we was dumped...on a spare table. We asked to move but was told they was fully booked. Food was okay not as nice as we previous visits.More

A year of Pandemic is not an excuse for standards to drop as much as they have. The food has become sub-standard and no longer dependable. Yesterday, my sole goujons were inedible, being rock hard - it was like eating ‘breaded cardboard. I don’t know...if this is because they were old or frozen, perhaps both. Ugh. My companion’s steak was full of gristle and difficult to cut through. Not what I’d expect after past experience - usually being a dependable, mid-range option when eating out. Diners choose to eat out for a great experience, good tasting food, wine and company - not because they want to throw money down the drain. I shan’t be coming back until I hear from others standards have improved.More
