Fantastic German food and beer. Quaint riverside ambience decorated like a ski chalet. Great beer options. Food was authentic and plentiful. Farmer’s Feast was huge and amazing. Great place and great atmosphere.

We popped into Steins for a few pints on a lazy Sunday afternoon, but unfortunately it was the worst experience we have ever had at a bar or restaurant. As instructed, we scanned the menu from the QR code and ordered from the waiting staff....After a nice couple of hours enjoying the view with some snacks and beer, we came to pay the bill where the figure was far higher than the menu suggested. The beer listed at £3.90 with no other explanation is for a half not a pint, incredibly steep even for London! After showing the waiting staff the disparity between the bill and the menu on the ordering app, we were argued at rudely by the manager and eventually given several new bills. On the first revised bill the price was made nearly the same by inflating the price of the pretzels we ordered and only slightly altering the beer prices, on the next we were told that VAT wasnt added to the menu prices on just one type of beer (illegal under UK law). After a lengthy process where the manager was too busy to engage for 20 minutes at a time, we eventually paid more than the prices we were advertised due to the claim of having been served bottled beer rather than draught beer for some of our drinks. They need to fix their menu to be clearer, but even then the place will still be very overpriced and the management will still be rude - avoid.More

My colleague & I called in the other evening during a trip down the Thames. We were not disappointed! Amazing Wiener Schnitzel cooked to perfection and genuine German lager made the visit very memorable. We were given an outside balcony position due to Covid restrictions...which afforded us a marvellous view of the sailing boats from the local yacht club tacking across river. We will try their other restaurant in Richmond soon.More

We went as a family of 4 to celebrate my son's graduation. What an amazing evening. We had a selection of main courses, sausages from Munich, currywurst, roast pork, raclette, and the best pretzels ever. The beer was superb and we had x2 Steins of...imported lager. Dessert was the best Apple Strudel I have tasted. Staff were lovely and a wonderful atmosphere. A really wonderful evening, the best all year, have booked again!More

A German restaurant and such good fun. Large Steins of beer and meat dominated fayre, on simple wooden tables.

Massive portions. Homely sort of food. Easy to find. Nice location. Outdoor seating area. Had to do take away for our leftovers and that fed us dinner the next day. Very happy.

Such kind staff and excellent service. I requested a naked schnitzel i.e without breadcrumbs and the staff were so wonderful and tasty. My friends who got the regular schnitzel were impressed and the fresh lemon was an excellent accopmient. Lovely wine as per usual with...a beautiful Riverside setting. Could not recommend highly enough.More

Finally made our way to Stein's for a long overdue date night. I was a bit apprehensive going out for a meal but they've done a fantastic job at separating tables with panels and giving the tables a good clean between each sitting. The customer...service was really good, and they did everything to make me feel safe. Kudos to the staff putting themselves at risk so that we can come out of our caves of comfortable hibernation after all those months of lockdown. The food exceeded my expectations. Very generous portions and really quite tasty. Impressed with the veggie schnitzel I had. I was afraid I would have to order chips and a salad as most places don't have a good veggie menu and it's difficult going out with meat eaters. All in all, I really recommend the place. Also, the beer was proper good!More

Best German food I’ve found in Kingston and a great beer selection to go with it. Topped off with good staff and a terrace by the river.
