We've eaten at plenty of good steak restaurants and the Golden Bull is right up there, doubly so when you consider it's an independent rather than part of a chain.
I had chicken wings to start - it's one of my favourite dishes. The skin was beautifully crisp and tasty; and the meat was moist and tender. It came with celery and blue cheese, and Buffalo Sauce was the right intensity to make you want to slake the heat with another blue cheese drenched wing. I was seriously considering ordering a second plate.
The steak menu includes a guide as to what each cook means, e.g. medium rare and also recommends the cook for a particular steak. Just go with their recommendation, perhaps slightly rarer than you normally would do. They have no problem with giving a steak a bit of extra time if it's what you need. I had a sirloin and S had the fillet. We asked for "red with a bit of blood" and that's what we got. Chips and bearnaise sauce on the side. Great steak.
A bigger selection of red wines would have been welcome, but I appreciate a bigger cellar means more cash is tied up in wines. You'll find a red you like and, perhaps, have a crisp white with your starter.
Puddings? It's always going to be sticky toffee pudding for me, and it was excellent. Cheese is available too and although we didn't have it, the trick is to order it as the same time as your starter so it has time to warm up at your table.
Our waiter, Robbie, was knowledgeable, efficient, polite and, most of all, interested. We even got to chat with the owner and the atmosphere felt like a family-run restaurant.
Will we be going again? Definitely.

The food was absolutely amazing. My husband and I enjoyed every mouth full. The portions are big but worth it as you get what you are paying for and the staff are very helpful and polite, especially our waiter. Fin, we think it is very clean and well presented and we would recommend the restaurant to every one

The restaurant is clean with a decent sized bar and a mixture of furniture. The staff are friendly and attentive and the menu is easy to understand. I ordered the garlic king prawns for my starter and a 12oz sirloin steak, along with a side salad and dauphinois potatoes. The starter was quite good, but could have benefitted from some more garlic sauce. The steak was cooked as requested (medium rare) and didn’t disappoint. My only criticism would be that the food is pretty pricey for what you get. Adding on the potatoes brought the cost of the main course up to almost £40.

Decided to book and go for a family meal, I had read the reviews and thought this would be great as we don't have a Steak house near us. Unfortunately I was disappointed with a few things. Firstly, I was surprised to find that when we walked in it had 80's music playing loudly so felt that I was at a school disco ! Secondly we had our starters I ordered Prawn Cocktail for £9.00 and was shocked to get the smallest soggiest prawns I had ever seen, the Marie Rose Sauce must of glanced at it as there wasn't any, this was flopped on 3 lettuce leaves and 2 tiny bits of bread, my daughter had the Calamari and they were stringy and when she tired to pull them apart all the batter just fell on her plate. Mains, ultimately I was there to have the Chateaubriand and was surprised when we got it that it hadn't been carved, we thought they might of offered to do it but no, so we were left hacking away with our steak knives so instead of beautiful slices we had lumps to chew on saying that the beef was wonderful although £60.95 for 2, for beef, 3 tomatoes and a portion of fries is a bit steep ! Dessert - I had the Cheese board which was very nice plenty of cheese biscuits the only let done was that the apple on there had just been sliced through so included the core, pips and the stalk and again for £11.95 - the attention to detail seems very poor. I was really disappointed, as we don't go out on Saturday nights that often.

We really liked this establishment, it was clean stylish and very good to take friends
family or anyone else to. The staff were friendly and professional and the food was not only tasty it was served hot and without delay. We had three courses off the normal menu but they do offer a special menu for a set price. Overall it wasn't cheap at £360 for 6 but it wasn't the most expensive either as long as you come away happy with the experience which we certainly did. We would rebook again thank you.

We had a great mid week steak experience at the Golden Bull. Great starters, lovely melt in the mouth steaks, all cooked to everyone’s taste and perfectly presented. Paulo our waiter was very attentive and helpful and efficient in getting food to us in a timely manner. The only reason the food didn’t get a 5 was the cheeseboard which 5 out of the 7 of us ordered. It was very mediocre and included very much supermarket standard cheese to be honest. It would have benefited from less types of cheeses and more quality/specialist cheese like a good Stilton, cheddar and English Brie or Camembert. It’s a definite return when we are back in the area.

Lovely meal for our anniversary. From the start to the finish, we enjoyed every moment. The menu was great with plenty of choices, and the waitress was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food was amazing and portions generous, enjoyed every bite and very good value for money.
They had a good wine selection, too.
We had the prawns that were absolutely delicious, as was the tzatziki.
I had the fillet steak and my husband the Ribeye on the bone, both cooked perfectly and so tasty. For dessert, we had the apple pie and the tiramisu, perhaps the best apple pie I ever had.
It is so good to see a restaurant of such great quality in Camberley.
Looking forward to our next visit.

Highly recommend this restaurant, the food was absolutely amazing and the staff (especially Robbie) could not do enough for you. Water and wine topped up without having to ask. There is a good range of food on the menu but obviously the steak is the main event and it was so delicious. The atmosphere was lovely and for once in a restaurant you could actually hear yourselves talk. It was my son’s 21st birthday and they surprised him with a delicious brownie on a plate dusted with happy birthday message. Honestly one of the nicest places I have visited in a while.

Came here for an early evening dinner last Friday, prior to going over to the Theatre for a show. We hadnt booked so it was good that it wasnt busy, and we had no trouble getting a table near the front of the restaurant. The wait staff were attentive, friendly and chatty, so we were made to feel welcome. The restaurant was nice and clean, and beautifully decorated.
Food wise, I tried the chicken and chorizo kebabs, on the advice of the waitress recommendation... and I was not disappointed, they were delicious, alongside the accompanying rice and salad. Really good. Pricewise, its a little bit dearer than most other places in Camberley but you get what you pay for, and I will definitely be coming back as it was worth every penny.!!!

An amazing evening out, all the staff are amazing and were so polite and welcoming. The food was out of this world, after reading reviews saying it was expensive, I have to say for what you get, it really isn’t when you compare to what you’re paying at big chains, to come and have such lovely food way beyond anything you would get at a chain at an independent restaurant, the value for money was amazing!! The steaks were cooked perfectly, the pork belly was amazing and ribs fell off the bone! We had the Camembert to share for starters and was amazing between four of us! The prawns were delicious as was the tzatziki! Will 100% be going back again, already thinking about what we will be having next time… thank you so much guys.

We visited the golden bull on the 25th May for a birthday meal.
We were served by Jack who was very friendly, we both had steak meals and the steaks were cooked to perfection and the apple pie for dessert was very tasty. I would recommend this place to have a meal if you are in Camberley because I give it 10/10 plus very nicely decorated

As you’d expect from the name, they specialise in steaks which are a bit expensive for a casual meal. Burgers are good and their chunky chips are outstanding- crisp on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Service attentive and prompt. Can’t really comment on the atmosphere, been pretty empty during the week when we’ve been. Recommended.

We had heard that there was a new restaurant opening up in camberley and that the steak was really good.I strongly believe that the steak being recommended as good was miss-described. The Rib Eye steak on the bone I had was by far cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. it was THE BEST steak I have ever had (huge statement but factual) Our waitress Faye was also a credit to the restaurant as she advised us on the best ways to cook each steak as to get the full flavour and taste out of it. We were also very impressed with the ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant.
Thank you for making my wife’s birthday date night one to remember.
We Will highly recommend The Golden Bull to all of our friends and family who I believe will be coming over soon to visit

My family and I had dinner yesterday evening. There were 10 of us and our waitress was Megan who did a fantastic job. Attentive service, prompt delivery of drinks , helpful and smiling throughout. The resaurant was very busy with a very good atmosphere. We were made to feel welcome and our food was cooked well , especially the steaks . Portions were generous and there was a good selection of wines and cocktails.
We will be returning for sure.

We went to the Camberley restaurant for my wife’s birthday celebration
The atmosphere is fantastic, welcoming and comfortable.
Our host, Megan, made us feel welcome and took care of everything.
The food was delicious, well cooked and well seasoned.
The staff provided a small birthday brownie as a celebration of my wife’s birthday.
All in all a very happy and tasty time.
